  1. I don't think there is way to figure out how much risk - just that a lot of things could go wrong. The closing could fall through because someone loses a job or some other reason; there could be damage to the home; someone could get hurt; there's no guarantee rent would be paid and then you're dealing with eviction, etc. I would love to believe it will all go smoothly but, after my last experience, I'm a little leery. I've not had the best of luck so far with this.
  2. I can't muster up any sympathy for Amantha. Where she is in life is the result of her own choices and her doing. She's the only one preventing herself from making any positive changes now too. I also liked the scenes with Tawney and her counselor and Janet and Jon. Really well done. I haven't been able to form an opinion about Teddy after this new revelation but find the comments here about him very interesting.
  3. Chyna, that is terrible. You're already doing a lot to help your friend, Harvester. You're a great friend. It's been humid for days. Today was the worst. I need some advice. We have a buyer who is closing on their home a few weeks before they would close on the one we are selling. They want to rent until it closes. They wouldn't move in until their place closes, inspection is done and agreed to and appraisal accepted by their lender and they have a firm mortgage commitment. I would be sure a very large down payment was made that is non-refundable if they don't close on the house we are selling. Everything would be in a contract. I understand they need somewhere to live, but I've also read horror stories. I know someone who has done this recently and it all worked out but it seems like the risk to us is huge if something goes wrong. Everyone's thoughts and advice are welcome.
  4. I felt the complete opposite. Her acting was good but I absolutely loathe this character. Daniel was actually in a good mood, which rarely happens, and was trying to do something nice for Amantha. I watched that entire scene dreading her inevitable selfish reaction. Not an episode goes by where I'm not muttering Shut Up Amantha at some point. The season is off to a good start and I'm interested in seeing how this all plays out. For a show with such a slow pace, it certainly holds my interest more than most.
  5. Wow, Barphe. That is a lot to deal with. I'm sending vibes your way. Hang in there.
  6. Glad you had a great day, Earl. Here's hoping we all have lots more of them. I hope you enjoy the beach and time with your family, KPC. I echo what everyone else has said and hope your dad doesn't get to you. Wow. 5 weeks went fast, Erratic. It's amazing actually. It doesn't seem all that long ago that you first told us you made the decision and were Staring the process. Haven't heard of Unreal. I guess the newest thing I'm watching is Jonathan Stange and Mr. Norrell. Rectify will be back this week I think, so I'll be watching that. I finally saw Whiplash and really enjoyed it. Not much good going on for me right now, so I'll leave it at that.
  7. What struck me was how similar the designs for the camping store and auto store were. If I'm remembering correctly, both had the large circular design element when you first enter, both had something jutting out of a wall (car and RV) and both had the poles wrapped with some design element. I can't remember if each place had a pamphlet stand/display in the entry and if the color schemes were the same. I agree with those who think the designs were too busy. Some good elements but they could be toned down a bit. Though, it's probably difficult to get a feel for that without actually being in the stores. Glad they were able to pull it off. Looked like the employees were a hardworking good group of people.
  8. Oh no! Not the other place. I'm going to have to break down eventually and join. The spacing? It's extremely annoying. I don't think it's consistent either. Drives me a little batty. I'm so glad this is a long weekend. Perfect timing. My employer has been unbearable lately and I'm feeling pretty worn down by everything that's been going on. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
  9. Vibes for kitty. Is it worth getting a second opinion, AnnieF, or do you want to just get it taken care of? I'm waiting for mine to go. Its original to the house and can't have much time left. It's working for now. I won't have it serviced or do any maintenance. I'm leaving well enough alone.
  10. Vibes for Frankie. Thanks everyone. No chance of getting the other offer back. I've got a deadline set for tomorrow so there's a very very very and I mean teeny tiny chance this current one will go through. I think I've made peace with that though and am ready to move on again.
  11. Vibes to Harvester and all who need them. Maybe you were somewhere close to where I am. Next time you have to trek to NJ, maybe we could meet for lunch or something. Always interested in meeting more people from here. What the hell enough to keep watching? Tell us more. Sounds perfectly logical to me. My weather app said it was in the 90s today but "felt like 101". It was brutal. Unfortunately, looks like the house deal is falling through. I should know for sure tomorrow. What really stings is that we lost another offer in the process while dealing with these people who appear to be playing games. So frustrating
  12. Done! But we need a bit more help over there.
  13. Many vibes to you and your sister, Harvester. A restore should work. Glad you're able to get your pics and music. I never back up my computer and really should or at least save the important items to another drive. Anyone watching Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel? I'm not loving it but will stick with it for a while to see where it goes.
  14. Yay! We are moving again! Knot in stomach untied... Earl, I hope you're feeling better soon. Thanks to all and many, many vibes back to all that need them.
  15. Vibes for Harvester and her sister.
  16. Hope the first round of shots do the trick and you're feeling better soon, AnnieF. Haven't seen Jurassic World. Glad you enjoyed it, KPC. Lots more work vibes headed your way. We are definitely stalled on the house. Don't know if this will work out. Blergh. There has been no communication for too long. Our attorney contacted theirs and we're waiting to hear back. Big old knot in my stomach. Haven't seen a post from Earl recently. How are things going, Earl?
  17. I though it was Norrel. Not sure what I think yet but will be back to watch more.
  18. Not as late as I am. Happy birthday, Erratic! I hope it was great despite the MIL. Work vibes coming your way, KPC. It's been very uncomfortable weather wise this week, Valny. I've had the a/c going all the time. I wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise. I wake up too many times as it is. I'm sorry that happened to your dad and glad he is ok. Things are slow going with the closing and we have hit a little bump in the road. I'm hoping it's nothing that will knock us off track completely. My mom is also showing signs of decline. Nothing major but still heartbreaking. So, not the best week. No big plans for the weekend. Catching up on paperwork and cleaning. Yay? Been watching that Netflix series Between. Can't really recommend it, but I wouldn't say it was terrible either. It's only six eps, so I'll see it through. If they pull a fast one like they did with Under the Dome and don't wrap it up, I'll be annoyed. Have you seen the tiny homes, cko? I've watched a few shows on them and it's very appealing at times. Hope everyone has a nice weekend and little to no annoyance from any in-laws or anyone for that matter.
  19. Every time you awake Every formula I make I'll be watching you...
  20. Congrats and more vibes. Wonderful news.
  21. I have an ever growing list of shows and movies to watch one day too. I did watch all of Veronica Mars but didn't see the recent movie. I hope you're feeling better soon, Earl.
  22. Happy late birthday LnB! I hope you did something fun to celebrate and the tech issues are resolved. Thanks for all the vibes. You guys are the best and they worked! Things are moving again and hopefully will continue to do so. More vibes heading your way Erratic. I agree on the weather, dusky. I had the pleasure of spending a few hours under a large tent for the nibling's graduation ceremony. It was extremely hot and humid. Would have preferred today's weather to that I think.
  23. Ouch on the dental work. I hope everything goes ok. Please keep the smooth closing vibes coming. We seem to have stalled for a couple of days which is making me worry.
  24. Lots of grounded decision making vibes to you, Erratic.
  25. I don't have any good advice, but will be thinking of your friend/partner, sending vibes their way, and know that they will make the right decision for their situation - whatever that ends up being.
