  1. Oh no, did my whining kill the thread? Anyone have exciting plans for Thanksgiving or the weekend? I'm doing the usual and will be at a somewhat smallish family gathering. Nothing too exciting but comfortable. I only have a short distance to go which is one of the things I'm thankful for. I don't miss the traffic and crazy drivers. One year I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and was trying to merge onto a highway. Of course, no one was letting anyone in and everyone was following the cars in front of them too closely. As a result, I tapped the car in front of mine (no damage). The guy actually got out of his car and started banging on my window, yelling at me to roll it down. Ok - crazy guy - I'll get right on that. He finally went back to his car and kicked mine before he did. Traffic makes me grumpy.
  2. I think both Underwoods are cold and scary. Glad everything went well with the shoot, KPC. Hope you're feeling a bit better after crashing for a while today. I'm so glad your mom is doing well, LnB. Sounds like you had quite the weekend but also got a lot done. Hope the week ahead isn't as hectic as it seems and you get a little time to relax. Glad Netflix is working and hope your cable is back soon. Enjoy your time off, Harvester! How is everything going with the move, Barphe? I'm wiped. I spent a large chunk of the weekend finishing off that organization project. Nothing makes you feel more old and out of shape than many, many trips to the attic moving containers. By the time I finished, all limbs were rubbery. I've still got boxes of paperwork to sort through, but this phase of the project is finished. I've got an appointment tomorrow that's going to take up half the day to get some advice on planning for future needs. I know I'm not the only one going through this, but it feels like there is a never ending list of items and, when one gets crossed off, two more get tacked on. I'm also not thrilled with the level of assistance from family. That's something I need to get straightened out. I am taking a couple of days off, so I'll have a nice stretch around Thanksgiving.
  3. Erratic - I'm sorry you have to deal with such a jerk. What you are doing is difficult and selfless and it's a shame you have to deal with someone like that during a stressful enough process. Hang in there and try not to let it get to you.
  4. That's the second recommendation I've seen for that book this week, buffyjunkie.
  5. I'm glad everything is going well with your mom, LnB. Hopefully, she'll engage in more activities and make some new friends as time goes on. It's such a big change for her but it already seems to be having a positive effect. Also, glad the landlord situation is coming to an end. It may not have been the result you wanted, but at least it will be over and you can put it behind you soon. Yay for company at Thanksgiving, Valny. I will stay away from the Black Friday sales. If anything, I may go out later in the day but I have very little patience for crowds and rude shoppers. I've got a bunch of cleaning to do this weekend as well. Plus, I'm going to see if I can finish off that organization project I've been working on. I thought I would be able to do it a little bit at a time, but that's not working. I just need to set aside a chunk of time and tackle it. TGIF indeed!
  6. I think I'll check that out. Looks like I should probably watch the other Librarian movies/series first? Christian Kane's hair looks positively goofy in that promo pic linked. I watched Leverage and thought that was a fun show. Vibes to Barphe and KPC. Have you worked with this photographer a long time, KPC? You are his client and he should take direction from you or be open to your suggestions. I guess you have been happy with his work in the past, so don't want to change? I am looking forward to the weekend. Work has been hectic lately and I've got a lot of catching up to do around the house. How is your mom settling in to her new home, LnB? Is the landlord situation resolved?
  7. That about covers it. I never watched Chuck, but did watch Alias. Wasn't crazy about Firefly but I think it was overhyped by the time I got around to it. As far as spy shows, I liked MI-5 a lot. Have to go back and catch up with that. I did watch Deadwood and, after I adjusted to the swearing (was in shock there initially), liked that one a lot. Does Justified count as a western? I think that's a pretty good show too.
  8. Glad you were able to put that one off, Erratic. I'm not a fan of flying either. I will do it but, if I can work around it, I will. I'm still enjoying Sleepy Hollow but a few people here have also mentioned they aren't liking it as much this season. I guess you're right about The Flash not being too exciting, but I like it well enough. I stuck with that instead of Gotham.
  9. I think Charisma Carpenter on AtS. Never saw anything with a good explanation of what happened though. Can't agree on Ward but fine with any redemption for Regina.
  10. Continuing good luck to you, Erratic. Glad there were no fatalities and hope the people who went to the hospital are doing ok. Hope the internet comes back for you soon, Chyna. At least the power is back. We're definitely moving into the colder weather here. This morning was the first time I saw a good amount of frost on the ground and houses. Can't say I'm looking forward to a lot of snow. I'll miss all the fall colors on the trees. Although, I do think snow can also look pretty and it's perfect for relaxing by the fire. Happy Friday!
  11. Please...just...a world of no.
  12. Talk about your false advertising. April or June? Thanks, BBCA, for getting my hopes up. Enjoy your day, LnB! Try to schedule another couple of days to relax in there somewhere. That's a long stretch. I hope your day improves after work romantic idiot. I just saw Frozen a couple of weeks ago. I didn't exactly stay awake through the whole thing and I was watching it in the afternoon. I do think it being overhyped might have something to do with it. I also thought there were some similarities to Tangled which I think I liked better. It was good but not to the level I keep hearing about.
  13. They broke Doctor Who! If it weren't for Capaldi, who is fantastic, I'd be out. Moffat needs to go.
  14. I soooo thought this was going to be about tonight's ep. I'm glad everything went well with the move, LnB. I hope she settles in quickly. Hang in there. I do understand what a relief it will be when everything is done. I'm right next to you in that boat. While watching BBC America tonight, I saw a commercial saying Orphan Black is coming soon. Can that be? It seems rather quick. Does anyone know when it is coming back?
  15. It does feel great to see the progress. I did a large chunk of organizing around the house a week or two ago and will be doing a bit more tomorrow too. I've got things to a manageable point now where I can do a little at a time. My goal is to get this next chunk done by Thanksgiving. I think that is realistic without overdoing it, but I'll see what happens when I start. These types of things always take longer than I expect.
  16. Whatever works, right AnnieF? You're apparently a very good influence. We've been crazy busy at work lately. I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm planning to do a little more work at my mom's house gathering a bunch of items and donating them. I think we're close to getting some advice on putting it up for sale. I don't think it's the right time of year but we can get someone in to start advising. Good luck on your mom's upcoming move, LnB. Just a few days now.
  17. Have to agree about last season. I decided to stick with it to see if it improved this season. Glad I did. It's much better.
  18. Glad you made it through the visit, KPC, Try to shake off any criticism. I know that's difficult. You're a wonderful person and, having now met you, I can definitely say there's absolutely no need to lose weight. Happy birthday, Darkpool (if it was indeed your birthday and, if it wasn't, have another celebration)!
  19. Glad you got the movie at the library, Valny. 20 minutes to go and not being able to see the end would be terribly annoying. I have Crackle too, but haven't checked it out. There's a few movie channels on the tv, but I always seem to just watch Netflix. Someone here - I can't remember who - first brought up that nibling meant nephew or niece. I just like the word. Here too. I did the same thing. For some reason though, Elementary didn't record this week. I'll have to watch it on demand. I'm not crazy about that because you can't fast forward through commercials on the regular networks. I did get some housecleaning and laundry done too so I was somewhat productive. I've been thinking about Christmas shopping too. I have a couple of ideas so far but really should get started figuring it all out. It will be here before you know it.
  20. It was my niece, Valny. No little ones here. The play was Romeo and Juliet. It was a lot of fun. Well, you know, for a tragedy and all. This is the first play I've seen her in and the second one she has done. Over the summer her school went to Scotland and she was able to be in a play at the Fringe Festival there. It's been a great experience for her. I'm amazed at the opportunities kids have these days. Chocolate is my biggest weakness and, of course, I bought a huge bag of stuff I would like. I'm trying to shed some pounds. I've put on a lot weight over the past year and need to knock it off with the late night snacking. How was the end of the movie? Anyone have plans this weekend? I've got a family function Sunday and am going to spend today catching up around the house.
  21. No dressing up here either. We didn't even have one trick or treater but we were out tonight. Went to see my nibling in a school play. It was a smallish part but she did really well. She's usually very shy and soft spoken, so it was nice to see a different side of her. Now I need to rid the house of the of the large bowl of candy before I eat it all...
  22. Even though I'm not a fan, glad you all enjoyed games. Good luck with the training and inspections, Erratic!
  23. Erratic - would you be overseeing the work being spread out to the different locations? Also, would you be able to get everything in writing?
  24. You knew that old wallet was going to show up eventually. Glad things are moving along with the move.
  25. Great news, Earl and KPC. Happy birthday, neighbors! I have been sick for the past couple of days with an icky stomach thing. I'll leave it that. Hoping tomorrow is less icky.
