  1. Tbh not much happened in season 1 either, when you consider that it was three more episodes. Oh yeah, forgot which streaming service I was watching this on. I guess that means a bit better chances of not getting abruptly cancelled. The "real one" is a fantasy that is never going to get built.
  2. Really disappointingly little happened in this very shortened season. I assume it's because of covid complications, but still not satisfying. I can fanwank it a few ways, like the eye needs to seem alive, a few pupil tests are performed to make sure and that only happens when a thinking brain is connected. Also it's probably helpful to have him to access the programm. But you are right, they should have accessed it from LA. Unless they need to physically go to the offices in New York, that are located in the rich guys office building. That is the only reason I could think of, that they need to go there. I guess we'll see unless Netflix cancels this show before the next season. But usually we get three seasons before they cancel. Up until the end, I thought there is no way he is going to die, but I guess loading a backup is a good way to make his head explode and still keep him around. Only question is how far back that backup was taken. Will he remember the breakup? Time will tell.
  3. What I thought was kinda dumb is that they insist on keeping Picard a robot. First of all how does the confederation have that technology? Also why would Picard still be this old man? Are you telling me that the confederation or genocide-Picard weighed the ethical implications and decided that it wouldn't be nice to give himself eternal youth? For that matter, I doubt the random death-algorythm they put in him in the prime timeline is still there, since why would a confederation Admiral put that in? Makes no sense. They just should have made him human and scrapped that dumb robot plot from last season.
  4. This was fine. Which is far more than I can say about season 1, so yay, big improvement. Q might be in a bit of trouble with continuum for saving Picard, no matter how he tried to package it as a lesson or penance. Though now that I think about it, that would make too much sense. There has to be a dumber reason why he behaves strangely. Any ideas? I think a lot of this was a bit far fetched with Annika being the president. As this type of president *cough* dictator *cough* you can do pretty much anything and people won't try to overthrow you. You can even invade another country without provocation. If she had just said: "the celebrations are postponed and we are taking the Borg queen on a trip", nobody would have dared to oppose her. Worst case she might have had to shoot her pesky husband in the head. Once they change the timeline back he'll be alive again anyway, or wiped from history, depending how you look at it.
  5. Everything is possible but this is unlikely.
  6. I thought he gave a speach, but rewatching, I guess he speachified later.
  7. I just watched the red letter media thing on the first episode. Their theory is that the new Borg queen is Picard's mother. That is so stupid, it's probably correct. My theory was that it is 7 of 9, who became a resistance borg queen during Q's time travel adventure. They had so many lines this episode with her struggeling to be Borg, that that would make perfect sense for her character arc. But again, with these writers, the dumber option is probably the correct one. What we know for certain is that she is somebody we know, otherwise they wouldn't have hidden her face. Btw. shower thought: If 7 hates the Borg this much now and constantly laments about how they stole her from her family, why does she still go by 7 instead of Annika? Seems weird. The red letter guys also thought Guinan's line explaining her age was stupid, just like I mentioned in my previous post. Their solution was pretty good. Her just saying "well, after a thousand years, age starts to show even with my people." My solution would have been to keep her line about humans feeling uncomfortable seeing somebody not age, then let her swish across her face with one hand, making it distort slightly, revealing that it is a hologram obscuring her real, still young face. You are right. I got confused, because the crew never stood at attention. The correct order would have been: - Rios says "admiral on the bridge" - everybody stays at attention - Picard says "at ease" - The crew stands in a more relaxed postion - Picard gives his speach - Picard says "as you were" - The crew goes back to their work
  8. Realtor: "No basement." Me: "Oh, there is going to be a basement." Well at least it wasn't extra large condoms in that box, in Frank's apartment. That has to be a relief. Yeah. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be. I guess it might get a lot scarier, but I think this might be something like "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window" where they try to be both funny and a real iteration of the genre and thus it works out as neither. Also I'm not sure if horror can work as a show. I guess people are saying good things about Bly Mannor, but I haven't seen it yet. I usually find horror rather boring. I mainly tuned into this because of Courtney Cox and because I thought it might lean more on the funny side. They also really need to get that roof fixed. There are holes in it everywhere.
  9. I thought there were less episodes left. 4 more episodes might actually be enough, depending on what ending they are going for. I guess the manga readers would know better. But then again, if the ending was so universally hated, maybe they are changing it. I don't think saying, that the ending made no sense, is a spoiler at this point. It already makes no sense. - Zeke should have defected a lot sooner, because they had a titan with royal blood and the founding titan all along. The attack on Marley was completely unnecessary. - As far as I understand and it has been spelled out pretty clearly last episode again, all Eldians are descendants from Ymir. So far so believeable. It's been 2000 years afterall. But Ymir only had children by the king. So all Eldians would have royal blood. Which means all titans would have royal blood. - There is still no explaination why there are 9 main titans, who have control over their actions, while all the other titans are dummies and I doubt there ever will be. They could have easily fixed that if Ymir had had 9 children and the power was only strong enough in the first generation. But she only had three. So wtf?
  10. I just stumbled upon this article: Yasper On 'The Afterparty' Is The Good Alter Ego Of Jean-Ralphio From 'Parks & Rec' Well that one aged like milk in record time. I don't think Jean-Ralphio was a murderer. (though the author does mention it in the last paragraph)
  11. I don't think putting laser baby as the first episode was a good idea. It gave the wrong impression and I was about to turn that whole thing off. I think it would have been better as a fun interlude somewhere in the middle. All the other ones were really good. It's a bit unclear in what continuity these were set though. Which is kinda important since in the comics everybody can just chuck some V and get temporary super powers. In the show most adults will explode and only babies can tolerate it reliably. From what I gather "I'm Your Pusher" was set in comic book continuity, which explains Simon Pegg as Hughie and Jason Isaacs as Butcher and "One Plus One Equals Two" was set in the show canon, since those were the voices of the actors on the show and Black Noir was on the team long before Homelander. With the others, it's really not clear. We have two episodes where adults survive being given V, one where somebodies head explodes, like you'd expect and three where nobody is given V. But even the ones where people are given V it's entirely clear one way or the other. As far as my favourite goes, I think it has to be the Rick and Morty one. Their humour just gets me. I have to say though, half the powers weren't even that useless. I mean especially Flashback. He would be amazing for getting information out of criminals, terrorists, spys, etc. Just flash back to the relevant parts of their lives. Ghost girl would probably be a good Spy. There were even a few physically strong ones in there. Poop girl is something Awkwafina would come up with. That is totally on brand. It was kinda funny, but I couldn't get the thought out of my head how her room must smell.
  12. This is a fun show, but the second hand embarresment often gets a bit too much for me. Something I've not had in other shows by Taika Waititi. Speaking of, he's blackbeard! That was a fun surprise. I was wondering why they didn't show the guys face the whole time. Will be interesting to see how this progresses.
  13. So that september 16th landing of the plane in LA was probably to gather crew and contestants. They probably made another stop on the east coast and then flew to switzerland. Good to know.
  14. Ugh, Picard's housekeeper being a love interest? No thanks. That was nauseating. They had a hard time explaining why Guinan was so old. I guess they don't have the budget to deep fake her the whole time. Even Qs deep fake looked super jank for the 3 seconds it was there. Just look at his lips. At least there they explained it well. That's what I always said Q should do if they brought him back. Let him say something to the effect of "Oh I don't want you to feel bad about your advanced age the whole time, let me fix that" and then snap himself to John de Lancie's current age. Though the line they actually used in the episode was worse than mine. They completely missed an opportunity to show Q's playfull/sardonic side. Others here have mentioned that he was a dick about it, but I don't think he was enough of a dick about it. Btw. John de Lancie looks good. I'm just worried they are going to character assasinate Q next, like they did with Picard and 7 last season. I'm holding out hope here, that it's a hidden ploy by Q to save the federation, packaged in the guise of continuing the trial, to sell it to his people. But these writers have shown time and time again that they don't get these old characters, at all. So that hope isn't very big. This really would have benefited from a 3 episode release season opener, like a lot of streaming services have done recently. Because nothing happened until the last 5 minutes of the episode. Nitpcks: - When Picard told the crew to relax he said "Please, as you were.", the military lingo that would have been used in the old shows was "At ease.". Not a big deal, but seems to be another indicator that these writers don't know the old shows. - Why is Picard giving the self destruct command when Rios is the captain? Makes no sense.
  15. That's what the producers said, but it's bullshit. Sure, there are thank you letters, but no definitive "we look foreward to working to you next season" in there, unless the renewal is already confirmed. Also them still pretending like they don't know is extra bullshit. By now it should have been renewed or cancelled a while ago.
  16. I really liked it. It was established multiple times that Yasper had been there before, to install that AV equipment and really, that should have made him the prime suspect all along. All the clues were there, they specifically showed us his phone case and made a whole spiel about it, when it came to the handwriting analysis. But we saw him multiple times with a phone without that case. Plus the acustics in the shower thing. Also I did think it was odd, the whole time that X would actually agree to the colab. Something seemed super fishy there. I think at the time I just thought Yasper was lying about it to get that colab done post mortem, after the fact. I didn't think he was actually the murderer at that point. But then, how would he have gotten that message from X on his phone? I should have followed that thread more. I think I just fell for his charm and since I didn't really try to solve this one, I didn't think any further. After the reveal, I was questioning why he didn't just delete the security footage beforehand, instead of making it seem like the detective did it by accident, but thinking about it, if he had just deleted it, people would have asked who might have had knowledge of that system and could have deleted it and suspicipon would have immediatly landed on him. I'm sure when you binge all the episodes and really try to solve this, you can figure it out and that is what makes a good murder mystery. It's certainly a lot more complicated than Death on the Nile, which I figured out 10 minutes before Poirot (and I don't know how I had never seen a version of it before, but I swear I hadn't), but it all made perfect sense. I feel if I hadn't just watched this casually I could have put it together. Probably not with all the details, like the closet door I would have never gotten, but who the murderer is, for sure. She probably called an Uber. Though it is a bit of a stretch that she wouldn't have told anybody, especially her best friend. Then again, they brought up a plausible fanwanky out at the end "pregnancy brain". Yeah, that was a good one. But also here: fair. Zoe's story was cartoonish, but not fake. Only Yasper's story was cartoonish and fake.
  17. The Azores are part of portugal, so technically Phil is not wrong.
  18. While they had me last episode for a while (since I don't follow anything outside the show itself), I'm 99% sure they are renewed and just not saying yet. There was a letter leaked that thanked the crew and said that production was looking foreward to working with them next season, a while ago. I certainly hope we'll get another season. A male gay couple in the main cast of a show that isn't about being gay, you don't see that every day, maybe on a family drama, but certainly not on genre television. I guess I should count Star Trek Discovery but that show is terrible and those two have the chemistry of two noble gases, also one arguably not a main character and the other one certainly not. So yeah glad, that Gwyn got his man. Sarah being pregnant, certainly interesting. I hope the alien part means that the kid is an adult in like a month. I was a bit annoyed that the three legends were letting themselves get blown up by the ship, when that would have been more than enough time to use a key. But I guess it was to give Astra her big hero moment and show how she's grown over this season. Donald Faison is Booster Gold. Now that's interesting. What is a bit weird is, what is a fixed point in time deemed worth protecting and what is not? I mean Gideon has to constantly fix the declaration of independance. You'd think that would be important enough to be made into a fixed point... Speaking of the fixed points, who are these guys who establish them and now arrested the legends for time crimes? Seems like they weren't around when the time masters or the time bureau was, but if it's a time agency wouldn't they have always been around? Time travel gets confusing fast. The reaction of the legends to getting arrested was great though. The synchronised groan, perfection!
  19. If not the first, at least the first one since the single numbered seasons. The conventional wisdom was that teams would be too on the edge and thus them driving wouldn't be safe, but I guess the risk of them getting covid was deemed to be even greater than the risk of them crashing the car.
  20. Dito. I thought that was increadibly unfair. Either all doorknobs need to get painted or none do. At least it didn't make a difference in the outcome, otherwise I would have thrown some chairs. "alpha" has come to mean "guy with bad personality" in recent years. Dusty isn't the worst of the alphas out there, but his personality sure still needs some work... I mean, Youtuber is just a job like any other these days. As long as they don't cast multiple teams in a season, I'm fine with it. They are still normal people with normal lifes. You wouldn't groan about contruction workers. Goes to show you how just done all teams were after that needle in a haystack task. Nobody had the capacity for anything at the end there. We've seen that in most final three. It's usually a two team race. It only gets really bad when it's a one team "race" and sadly even that has happened more than once. Guess YMMV but even if you don't like Penn, I don't see how he's worse than Dusty with his antics.
  21. Yeah, that show is awesome. A bit of a lul in the middle, but a strong ending. Let's hope they can carry that momentum into a season 2.
  22. All things considered this was a fun race. We've had way worse seasons under non-pandemic conditions. Kim and Penn acting out the clapping at the final mat, saying they didn't want to be one of the teams doing it, gave me life. I'm glad those two won. But would have been just as fine with Raquel and Cayla. Dusty and Ryan, not quite as much. I don't like Dusty all that much and while Ryan is awesome, he really doesn't need the money. I still would have been fine with them, but glad they were never in serious competition for the win. Maybe if they ever come back Dusty will have his emotions a bit better under control and be more pallatable... Still, this was one of the best final three I can remember. Absolutely no duds in the mix. Also good leg design with actual opportunities to pass each other. Often final legs have a problem that it's a foregone conclusion who will win after the first task. Not here. I'm happy with this whole thing. Hope the next season will come soon. Is there anything known when that will be filming or nothing yet?
  23. A great team got it. I'm happy with this. Would have also liked the girls to win, but they are a shoo in for an all stars.
  24. I mean, green-ish. Mostly gray. Difference is straw is made from grain plants and hay from grass. Straw is put on the ground for the animals to stand and sleep on, hay is used as feed.
