If you go to a lot of trouble to make the salmon skin crispy, then serving it skin side down ruins it. However, Kareem's salmon skin is the sort I leave on the plate and then feed to the dog!

I thought it looked like salmon with gray, rubbery skin, when it hasn't been cooked properly.

I don't think Shota's flavors and techniques always translate to these kinds of competitions. Yes he has won some of them, but it seems like the judges don't get him at times. I really feel like not watching the rest of this now that Shota and Jet are out 😞

I seem to remember seeing that ingredient show up on another cooking competition show. And it was a disaster then too.

It's not the judges, it's the producers who tell the judges to do that 😏

The timeframes they're given are just designed for failure. 2.5 hours for a cheesecake, with all that required decoration? It's no wonder most of them were dismal.

It's ironic that Tobias, as a Number 1 seed, got knocked out by David, the Number 8 seed. That's how his road to Number 1 started.

Shirley Chung is on a new Food Network show called House of Knives which premiered yesterday. Apparently filmed before her cancer diagnosis.

He still seems to pronounce it differently every time he says it. Clearly Fabio learned nothing from being on Top Chef. You never make anything "two ways" or "three ways" in a competition.

Please award the belt to Antonia already. The constant repetition about last year and losing by a point and how stressed out she is to win is stressing ME out. Not that she's my favorite -- I just want her to shut up and go away.

Fortunately he isn't the one who will be providing the commentary during the actual competition -- Tiffani Faison (along with Justin Warner) is (and he showed just how miserable he is at it). Simon Majumdar is in the middle of a health crisis (and looks to be beating it) so it's no surprise that they gave him a reduced role this time around.

I get that they want to stick to the animal theme this season, but some of the animal "foods" were weird. It was like the Dessert Imposters thing was shoehorned into it. Dogs eat...steak? Hamsters eat...grapes?

I was disappointed -- I was waiting to hear what she named it.

I love animals, generally much more than people, so I'm happy with the overall theme of the season. But I have to say, these kids don't seem as talented as others we've seen before. Nice enough though.

Sadly, Dr. Michelle's show ended with Season 12. It has been cancelled 😞
