  1. .....huh? What are you even talking about? What does the 9/11 Museum have to do with TFOL? Better take some Ben-Gay for that reach, dude.
  2. This. And there are so many adorable kids left--Joseph with his chill (he's so cute), Caroline and her dimples...I don't want my kid buzz harshed by a brat who can't take guidance and who mouths off. Hooray!
  3. Well. Thrilled for Jason, disappointed for Ilia. I don't think Vincent earned it--it's not like this free skate was all that much of a fluke. He's very inconsistent. Is Ilia the alternate?
  4. Right???!!! Same.
  5. He played it off so well! Loved his cheeky little "whatever" gesture right afterward. Perfect response.
  6. Jeez, it's Trusova over Chen all over again. It's just wrong when a program as sloppy as Vincent's places above Jason's, even is by less than half a point.
  7. This, exactly. Watching her fall apart again and again on the national stage is awful.
  8. Poor Gracie. This program was better than some I've seen since her breakdown but I had such high hopes after her short. SO HAPPY for Mariah! Like some clever person commented two years ago, I too telepathically ordered Mariah not to fuck it up and it worked! Isabeau is gorgeous on the ice. Loved Karen's program as well.
  9. They're not particularly fragile--I used to play with mine all the time. But if you're a collector, you would want to keep them pristine so they maintain their value. They have international dolls and also pop culture dolls. The best thing about them are their super-elaborate, detailed outfits. Check out this Irish lassie: https://store.madamealexander.com/madame-alexander-dolls-newest-arrivals/emerald-isle-princess.html I want to play with that so badly! Now I want to find mine and play with them!
  10. I was just about to post this! The tweets in the middle of the article are the best! And this line: So effing true! I feel seen.
  11. I did the same thing! (Although not to my MA dolls.) But Barbie, Skipper and my Wizard of Oz dolls all got snipped.
  12. Fuuuuuuuuck Can she petition to be named to the team? The Games are weeks away.
  13. Oh, I loved seeing those dolls. I had a few. The French doll, the Scottish doll, the Scarlett O'Hara doll... Rock is adorable. Perhaps unrealistically so--she seems a little matter-of-fact about these huge issues--but I love the character. YES about the Charlotte sex dream. BULLSHIT. Show needs to stop trying to make fetch Che happen. They're shoving them down our throats. I liked the picnic scene as well. Although I know that filming site--I am 99% sure that's Rockefeller Park on the edge of Battery Park City and I've taught classes on that grass! But I've never seen picnic tables down there. I've been surprised about that myself. Isn't it unusual for siblings to share a room nowadays? You'd think with their money, they could afford a room for each. In the rush to be woker than thou, I've actually heard a person insist that even learning another language was cultural appropriation. Which is clearly fucking ridiculous. There really is a need to judge with some people (which does nothing to address actual cultural appropriation) so I'm glad the show addressed that. I literally threw up my hands in front of the screen so I wouldn't have to see those flashback scenes. SHOW. STAHP. WE DON'T LIKE CHE.
  14. Right? I kept thinking "don't get on the train...don't leave the farm...don't go over to the Bryant grocery store..." I couldn't even bear to watch half of it. What a terrible, terrible story. That poor kid.
  15. What did she say about Amber? (I was switching back and forth between skating and Women of the Movement so I only caught the end of her program.)
  16. Very proud of Gracie. I was kind of dreading it, tbh, because she had that same look skating onto the ice she's had the last few times at Nationals when she didn't do very well. But she nailed it tonight. Loved Mariah and Karen's programs!
  17. Is Lads and Ladies a real organization or just a fictional version of Jack and Jill?
  18. Nobody is saying that. Literally no one. Please reread what I wrote: The previous OP made a generalization about how children at that age don't have the skills necessary to compete and generally that is correct. I am completely fine with the generalization that it takes time to become a good baker and younger children lack the finer motor skills, their palates haven't been exposed to as much, they lack the experience. If there were an exception? Great--that would make fantastic TV. As I said above. The "all generalizations are bad" is just silly. It's like taking offense to "generally NBA players are better than high schoolers." Again it takes time and experience to become good at anything.
  19. Generalizations are fine in casual conversation. Especially since Ben's sloppy baking skills and immaturity support the point the OP was making--that 8 year olds are generally too young for this show. If a true 8 year old prodigy appeared on the show, we'd all be talking about that. Instead we're all talking about this annoying kid who doesn't belong here--who was kept on in place of a different kid who would've listened had they been told "here's how to fix that" (and we know this because Finley listened and acted last week). Generalizations about, say, race or religion or gender? Bad. Generalizations about the potential casting pool for a cable TV show? Fine.
  20. A FB friend of mine posted a truly disturbing "artist's rendition" of Che covering Miranda's mouth with her hand in the kitchen. I hid it under a spoiler cut because it is grooosssssss.
  21. I thought the female guest star looked familiar and looked her up--it's Jody Sawyer with the bad feet from Center Stage! her acting has certainly improved (although I loved her in CS).
  22. I loved Joseph's chill last week. He nonchalantly made a great cake with an ingredient he'd never heard of before. "So, do you like chai?" "Nah." He just seems really chill but still has little kid excitement at times.
  23. Valarie looked surprised by his rudeness at the judging--but Duff looked straight up pissed. They really need to stop rewarding behavior like that. I work with kids and when you don't curtail that kind of behavior, they will think it's okay and will just escalate. Eight years old is plenty old enough to know that's inappropriate.
  24. Benjamin. is. ANNOYING. FFS, stop arguing with the host who 1) has forgotten more than you'll ever know about baking, and 2) who is trying to help you not get eliminated! Ugh, he is so irritating!
  25. YES. It's an amateur move--let us, the audience, decide if you're funny. Don't take that choice away from us. I went to a play where one of the two actors kept laughing at her own lines and then mugging to the audience like "aren't I hilarious?" Me as I sat there:
