S06.E23: Reunion Part 3
RealHousewife replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Bingo! I totally understand if Lisa did not want to talk about painful stuff from decades ago. I totally disagree that it's necessary to talk about hurtful things in order bond and build friendships. It's just that she doesn't always show empathy for the other women and repeatedly dares them to ask her "anything" after she has probed too much. Asking how the women's husbands are in the sack, "affairs," serious family issues, the children, cheating rumors, those are all touchy subjects for the other women but she doesn't care. As for whether or not she's being truthful about the abuse, I don't know. There are times Lisa doesn't seem as honest and open as she likes to portray imo. However, just because she once said she hadn't experienced it doesn't mean she's lying. I have lied about not going through certain things just because in the moment I was uncomfortable discussing everything. And it's possible she truly did shove that time of her life out of her mind because it was too painful and so many years ago. She's been with Ken almost her entire adult life. I think what hurt Eileen is the lack of empathy. I'm one who thinks Lisa sounded almost judgmental in her blog. Like "sorry, you went through that but why discuss it? It's pointless to talk about, not good juice for the show! I've been through abuse myself but don't talk about it!" I understand that Eileen brought up her past sort of randomly, but I agree that it does help other women not feel so ashamed of going through domestic violence and helps get to know Eileen better. I am sure a lot of people were surprised that a beautiful, successful woman like Eileen who most men would kill to be with had been with such abusive men. -
Who should stay and who should go?
RealHousewife replied to zoeysmom's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Kyle Richards-Return, she's an anchor of the show. She seems to be a kind person at her core, yet she's not afraid of a little drama. Also great to see her beautiful family. Lisa Vanderpump-Return, love her or hate her, she's another anchor of the show and seems to be the fan favorite every year. As much as I don't always like how she treats other cast members, she is one of the smarter h'wives, charismatic and charming, brings the lifestyle porn, etc. She's basically perfect for reality television, except for wanting to play the victim season after season. Yolanda Hadid-Return depending on what's going on with her life. It might be interesting to see a newly single Yolanda date and not have it be all about whether or not she's sick. She has lead an interesting life until this point. The rags to riches story, being a former model, having very interesting ex husbands (and boyfriends) and now celebrity children. I just don't see this woman as ever being dull. Lisa Rinna-Return. She's not afraid of the drama! Plus she embodies Beverly Hills, her career, her husband, her lifestyle, just perfect for the show. Eileen Davidson-Return one more season just to leave on a good note (she doesn't need the show to stay on indefinitely). She's gotten a lot of flack for going against LVP, but I still think she seems like the sweetest person in the cast. And I find her entertaining just because she is so likable to me. She was something without the show, very beautiful, talented, brings what Beverly Hills is all about, and isn't vicious to other cast members. Erika Girardi-Return. She's beautiful, has the lifestyle porn, and I like her talking heads. It would be interesting to hear more about her story. Also think she has a good heart despite the "cold" exterior. Kathryn Edwards-Neutral. She's a beautiful, wealthy woman seems to have a sweetness about her despite putting Erika on blast, but she doesn't carry the show the way some of the others do. Kim Richards-Leave. The show doesn't seem healthy for her. Brandi Glanville-Leave. She can definitely give good TV, but she can be vicious on the other cast members imo. A part of me does wish she could join and be milder because I know she could use the pay check more than any of the other women. -
Exactly. Having a former model mom coaching you and promoting you on TV, your father is one of the richest dudes around, you live in California, you have a Guess Jeans connection, of course it was way easier for Gigi to become a successful model than some random beautiful girl in the Midwest without any wealth or connections.

Lisa Rinna: These are the Lips of her Life
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Ditto. Kim's the one who's most soapy, and to be honest, I find her scenes to be the most boring, even when everything's so emotional and dramatic. At least Rinna's shenanigans are entertaining. I remember Kim crying about missing her daughter who went off to college, and while I'm sure it's tough, based on a reunion preview, some viewers thought thought she was talking about a deceased loved one, maybe Big Kathy. And LVP has some nerve calling anybody a C-list actress considering her own acting credits. She trained as a child to be an actress, had the means to move to Hollywood when she was young, was not above doing revealing sex scenes, and she STILL never even became close to being a C-list star. I understand it's a tough industry so I'm not judging her for not becoming Julia Roberts. But some people have called her a Baywatch star as if she were Pamela Anderson or Carmen Electra. She appeared on one episode of Baywatch Nights! And let's not pretend Vanderpump Rules is above Days of Our Lives. Love them or hate them, both Rinna and Eileen made the $ they do have on their own. They're not failed actresses who mailed much older businessmen and built upon their husbands' success. I'm a huge fan of Eileen. With Lisa Rinna, I do like her on the show (the way I enjoy watching LVP and Kyle) just because I find her entertaining. She has a sense of humor and embodies what Beverly Hills is all about. I do wish she'd have more of a filter and were less messy, but I'm just not convinced she's this awful, malicious liar yet. She seems honest imo. Anyway, I hope they keep Rinna on the show. Maybe I have a soft spot for both her and Eileen because I grew up watching them on television, but I tend to think I'd enjoy watching them regardless. -
S06.E22: Reunion Part 2
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Kathryn was very sweet towards Kim (very touching moment between them actually), but it is definitely easier for her to be compassionate towards her than it is for some of the others who don't have the greatest history with her. I like to believe both Eileen and Rinna genuinely want the best for Kim. You can find someone to both have been a jerk to you and still wish that person well from the bottom of your heart. There are people who have not always been the nicest to me, but I don't wish them the struggle Kim has gone through. I know I didn't like what I saw of her last season, but I want her to be strong in her sobriety. This is a life. It's beyond me that anyone would NOT want her to be a happy, healthy person. That said, it did irk me that Kim made the soap dig and called Eileen dramatic. Kim is one of the most dramatic housewives who's been on the show! She's given OTT reactions on many occasions. Is she given a pass because of her issues? I don't judge those who cry easily, but both Richards sisters can get very "soapy," teary, "dramatic" over anything. It sometimes makes for good TV (sometimes boring when it's over the same issues, over and over AND over). And I suspect Kim and LVP might be jealous of Eileen being a successful actress. Kim was only successful as a child. LVP trained to be an actress as a child and even moved to Hollywood many years ago, but her career never took off. (Kim may have signed up for the show due to the $, but I think the only reason LVP is on the show is for the fame she never got as an actress. We all know she's got enough money and then some.) Neither woman would be anything in terms of celebrity/fame without RHBH, Eileen and Rinna were each "somebody" before housewives. And calling them "Soapy and sudsy" won't change that. As for the initial conversation between LVP and Eileen, does anyone else remember that Eileen was clearly uncomfortable? She did not flat out say she did not want to answer those questions, but she was visibly uncomfortable, said she was "being grilled," Rinna's expression looked like she couldn't believe what she was hearing, and Kyle said something along the lines of "if you have an English accent you can be mean and it's okay." LVP did not care about any of this she was just like "no, it's good." The woman's very intrusive and aggressive! I think she's smart enough to know Eileen was not "good" with the conversation, she just didn't care. I also suspect that's why Mohamed responded with the kids being fine and leaving it at that. He did not want to go into detail with her, in Lisa's words, his way of saying "shut up." And look what happened on the show! I like Kyle and don't think LVP ever meant to hurt the kids, but I do think they both discussed this off camera then brought it up on the show, just for, well, the show. Why else would Lisa say, "If Yolanda says they have it, they have it. What does Mohamed say? No. He says Yolanda's the only one who has it." While I don't think I would have reacted the way Yolanda did, I totally get why she was pissed. That conversation did not sound organic or innocent to me. And again, another situation LVP is too smart for. She seriously thought Mohamed and Yolanda would appreciate her saying one of them is lying about the kids' health? I don't think so. Even if it was Kyle's idea to bring it up and Lisa was not prepared to answer the question, Lisa seems to think everyone should know exactly what to say in the moment. She expected as much from Eileen. Why didn't she immediately shut that conversation down? She's got a strong personality, certainly not afraid to say what she thinks is right or wrong. (Unlike Eileen who's not aggressive without being provoked.) As for Yolanda's own sickness... I've never gone through what she has with being physically sick for so long. But I have been through very dark times (wasn't sure if I could go on or not) when it seems like even those who should get it don't believe me because of the way I look. I would get told "but you're so pretty, you have this kind of body, what do you have to be sad about" blah blah. (And truth be told, I was nowhere near as attractive as I was once, I just sort of changed gradually and looked more put together than the average person. Some people just thought I looked sad and that I should smile more.) If you don't look like you're dying, let's say you have most of your hair, you're not very overweight or very underweight, you dress decently, people don't always see a sick person. The times I've experienced people being most concerned about me is when I had an eating disorder and was very underweight. I've also experienced family members not knowing how unwell I really feel until they see me having a panic attack or that I won't stop throwing up, whatever it is. If you try to look your best and not always share what you're going through, people think everything's perfect. That may be part of the reason Yolanda didn't always want a makeup artist or wanted people to know certain procedures she was having done. Some people will just see this beautiful, strong, athletic blonde who must be healthy because she has good days. I'm not saying I'm 100% on her side with everything RHBH. At times I know I personally would have let certain things go or just communicated differently, but I believe the woman really has been very sick and can understand a lot of where she's coming from. -
S06.E21: Reunion Part 1
RealHousewife replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Yeah I remember some viewers were very cruel and harsh to Faye. I don't think Kathryn or the vast majority of RHBH fans would ever condone death threats to her. It's absolutely disgusting that some people went that far. What I didn't like was Kyle trying to minimize Kathryn's feelings and not allowing her to have opinions. It's not Kathryn's fault some people out there were so mean and aggressive to Faye. -
Actually, Joyce and Kyle are the only ones I'm convinced Lisa seems to genuinely like. I'm not sure she genuinely likes Kathryn yet or just needs an ally for RHBH. What Lisa said about Taylor just this season didn't sound very friendly to me at all. And Carlton admitted Lisa was done with her once the show was over. I actually am not judging Lisa for not being close friends with all these women. I think most of us only truly become close friends with a select group of people we connect with. I DO think it says something when Eileen, Rinna, Adrienne, Kyle, Kim, Brandi, Camille, Erika, Taylor, Yolanda, literally pretty much everyone but Kathryn and Joyce feel Lisa is either "strategic, phony, Bobby Fischer, a hollywood friend, doesn't genuinely like them, makes mean comments, or stirs the pot." I think Eileen sees LVP similar to how I do. We think she's actually kind of fabulous and does a lot of good for animals and different charities, but that she's not a girl's girl or true friend to most of these housewives. That's why Eileen and the others get hurt. Lisa is first and foremost a business woman. I feel so bad that Eileen is getting all this backlash. She seems too kind and normal for this show. And unlike some of these other failed actresses, she doesn't need RHOBH to be on camera. (I wonder if LVP is actually jealous of Eileen's success as an actress. While she may have more money than she knows what to do with, her childhood dream of being a successful actress never came true.) I'd love for her to stay just because I AM a fan and hope she can end the show on a positive note, but truth be told she doesn't need the money or the added fame and is too good for it.

S06.E21: Reunion Part 1
RealHousewife replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I thought Lisa was trying to be a good sport and be sweet and supportive too, especially since she judged Erika at first for her Erika Jayne showgirl persona. I'm confused who's telling the truth between the two Lisas, but I think the truth may be somewhere in the middle. I don't see LVP as that malicious or that messy with her manipulations, but I do see her as very calculating and putting storylines above friendships with the other women. I know Yolanda can seem aggressive with the other housewives sometimes, but my heart broke for her when the discussion about her sickness being a storyline kept going on and on and she walked off the stage. When you really don't feel well and people don't believe you, it hurts. I'm sure it's hard enough just going through being sick for so long, without having people snark on you, mocking you, commenting on your appearance left and right. I really wish her well. Regarding Faye, I think some people have definitely been over the top with the mean comments about her. She didn't kill anybody, and the book, while in poor taste and not something I condone, was so many years ago. I'm even fine with her being a regular cast member on the show. That said, Kathryn is 100% entitled to her feelings. Vanderpump was OTT with her comments about Faye imo given their history, but Kathryn's feelings towards Faye are not over petty bs. I love that Kyle defends Faye and puts her friendship with her above what viewers think, but I'm sorry Faye DID sign up for this when she agreed to appear on camera this season. Kathryn wasn't going after some harmless woman for no reason or hitting below the belt. I think she handled things the best way she knew. I still love Eileen and feel bad for the backlash she's getting. I really think she's probably the nicest person on the show. It will be interesting to see the rest of the reunion. -
Kyle Richards: Pantene Poster Girl
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Kyle's hair is glorious! I've wanted her hair since season 1. Kyle is one of the housewives I most enjoy watching for many reasons. In the beginning, she was not a favorite due to things like "Limo-gate" and Game Night. I admit for awhile I actually thought she seemed like a hateful, jealous person. Totally think differently for several seasons now. I think she's perfect for RHOBH. First of all she's a beautiful woman, she really looks so much like Demi Moore. I like that she takes care of herself without going overboard with dieting and getting work done. I love her marriage with Mauricio-she picked a really great husband, and she seems to have raised lovely children despite the environment they grew up in-the Hollywood scene, lots of money, and such. (None of her children seem anything like her niece Paris.) I really think she seems like a great wife and mother. She just seems very down to earth despite growing up in Beverly Hills and having the wealth she has. I like that she cherishes her husband and children and knows she's blessed and having the most $ isn't everything. -
Well if Eileen does, that will be a terrible move imo. Vanderpump can be intrusive, but Brandi flat out scares me, way too intense. One thing I will agree with Lisa, is that she's nothing like Brandi. Kim's issues were part of her storyline season after season, she didn't have much else to share other than her dog and her grown children. And her behavior was out of control. Eileen's past has zero to do with LVP.
-
^ I never said Lisa did. Maybe Brandi is one of the reasons Eileen felt sensitive to Lisa bringing it up. I think Eileen mentioned something along those lines, but I could be wrong. And sometimes it's more hurtful when the issue is with someone who you like and consider a friend, not a brand-new cast member who's known to be a loose cannon. I would definitely take LVP over Brandi all day every day, and I think Eileen would too.
-
Oh yes Kim Fields is a big star, I forget she recently joined the franchise. Eileen's been consistently working for decades though. I think Kim took some time off to raise her children, could be wrong. As far as actresses, the only ones I'd heard of are Eileen and Rinna. Never saw Vanderpump in anything. I knew Kim Richards was a child star, but I never saw her work, perhaps due to my age. And I knew Kyle as Paris Hilton's aunt. And yes it does sound like Eileen had an "emotional affair." I have never said that did not happen. Just that Brandi and Vanderpump were not acting as friends for bringing it all up. I think Eileen is human, not a homewrecking slut. There's a lot about Lisa's past and businesses that's questionable, but I've never seen the other women directly ask her about any of it.
-
Eileen's the biggest star who's been on this franchise, so yes I can see how some people may have already heard about how she and her husband met, but I don't think everyone has. I never did until Brandi brought it up. And I'm a huge fan of hers as an actress, I just never looked at those tabloids or anything all those years ago. And I don't judge her because I know life and love are both very complicated, and she said she never had a physical affair while she was married. But I get why she was uncomfortable with a "friend" grilling her over an "affair" as if it were "just the two" of them on national television. It wasn't cool at all imo.
-
Aw I'm a huge fan of Eileen, so beautiful, talented, and seems like the nicest and classiest of the whole cast. No bullying anyone, blurting out secrets, p**** jokes, she's exactly what this show was missing, someone who's genuinely likable imo. I won't knock her for bringing up the incident with Lisa. I do believe Lisa was not being a friend in that conversation about her past, and Eileen was right to be upset by it. She did the same stuff every other housewife does, talked it out with LVP. The second time, Lisa asked her if they were good, and Eileen answered her honestly. The third time, Eileen brought it up as a reason why Erika might have made the comments she did, and she turned out to be right! LVP was kind of harsh with the way she looked at Eileen and said she wanted to be "really f***ing good." This whole thing did start out with Lisa being too intrusive and putting storyline before friendship and it continued to escalate. I don't see how Eileen's in the wrong for being honest and playing along. Is she supposed to just pretend to love everything the other women say and do? I don't think so. I don't like to see anyone take things to far to be entertaining (like Brandi Glanville), but Vanderpump says herself, they're supposed to have conversations, be honest and have opinions. Not sit there and take what every other housewife says and does. And especially with Eileen reportedly being the highest paid housewife, so beautiful, having lots of money, a hot husband, a very successful career as an actress, which is what a lot of these women, including LVP wanted in the first place, I could see her being especially on guard with someone like LVP who is used to being the queen B of the show. I suspected Brandi was jealous of Eileen too, for having so much going for her.

Lisa Vanderpump: Pink is her Favorite Color
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
As someone already posted, Mo "chastised" Lisa, not Yolanda. It appears he didn't want to go into details about the children, responded with "they're fine," and Lisa interpreted that as the children not being sick. And Lisa went on and on about Faye afterwards. I think she even realized it as well and said she didn't want to be called a grudge holder! lol As far as talking about the kids, Lisa admitted made a mistake when initially answering Kyle, but I do think Yolanda was overly sensitive. I don't think Lisa ever meant to put the kids in a bad light or harm them. She did indeed defend Bella last season. So I'm not saying I'm 100% on either housewife's side in this issue, just pointing out that even men can only take so much. And I can totally see men getting offended by the same stuff the women get offended by. I like a lot about Lisa. I think she's a good person at heart, a VERY beautiful woman, smart, funny, and charismatic. Love her relationship with Ken, her love of pink, her work ethic, all she does for the homeless, animals, gay rights, etc. However, I would not trust her if I were another housewife as I think she puts the show above her friendships with any of the women. And I think that's why she's had issues with so many of them. They think of her as a genuine friend, not just a cast member. So it's hurtful when she starts to grill them about their pasts, asking how their husbands are in the sack, making comments about tabloid stories and stuff. Basically, to my initial post, I think the housewives do at times have legit reasons to be frustrated with Lisa. I don't see these petty women pitbulls going against a subdued, gentle soul who does nothing but run her restaurants and live her life on reality TV who's so above it all that she's a man!- 2.1k replies

Lisa Vanderpump: Pink is her Favorite Color
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I don't think Mo's statement supported Lisa, but he has forgiven her. I do agree that Cedric was a user, that's why I said I don't expect Lisa to get along with everyone, that's not realistic. And Taylor's late husband and Paul were both offended by things Lisa said. I have been on Lisa's side with certain issues, I just don't see this manly mindset she claims to have. That's where we'll have to agree to disagree. She goes back and forth with the girlie conversations, has in fact said she's cried over housewife stuff repeatedly, doesn't always laugh things off, holds grudges with different people. The only thing about her is that she's more aggressive, which is why I call her an alpha female. She's got a strong personality. The stereotype of a man, if he had run into Faye after years, he'd be friendly, say hello and that would be the end of it. -
Lisa Vanderpump: Pink is her Favorite Color
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I've wondered that too, but to me Lisa should say she's a "man's woman," like Erika. Erika got a lot of flack for saying she doesn't have many girlfriends, but at least she's honest. And yes I agree with both of them that women can be catty and competitive, but there are just as many good women as there are men imo. I think women who prefer the company of men either genuinely are more like men OR they treat men better than they treat women. If Mo were on the show and Lisa said "so tell me exactly how and why you and Yolanda broke up? it's common knowledge you had affairs anyway!" I'd bet he'd be pissed as hell. He didn't seem to be thrilled with Lisa answering Kyle's question about his kids. And Lisa has also had issues with Cedric and different house husbands. And I'm not judging her for that because we're not all going to get along with everybody all the time, and at times she has really been hurt by different women AND men. But men will not let manipulation, intrusiveness, or just any joke slide. They do tend to not hold grudges that last for years though! lol -
Erika is SO beautiful. I love that she shows you can be over 20 and still be hot as ever and pursue your dreams. I think when she said she's been entertaining all her life she meant she grew up taking dance class, going to performing arts school, not that she'd been making a living being a singer her whole life. It sounds like she pursued it in her 20's, but she didn't catch a break. Then decided she wanted to get back doing what she loves when she was 35. I think it's great Tom supports her work. I don't like how he shuts her down though when she just wants to get a few words in. She's a grown woman, his wife, not a little girl mouthing off in the middle of an important speech! That would drive me crazy. I hope he treats her well other than that. If not, I wouldn't care how much money he has, it not be worth the lack of respect.

Lisa Vanderpump: Pink is her Favorite Color
RealHousewife replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Something that annoys me a little about Lisa is that she's repeatedly said she's "a man in a woman's body." What's manly about her? To me she's an extremely feminine alpha female. Her style could not be any more frou frou. When you look at her, it's all pink, makeup, lashes, frills, jewels, cleavage. As for her personality or interests, I don't see her enjoying a game while drinking beer. Other than walking on a treadmill, she's always made it clear she's not very physical or athletic. When Adrienne brought up being able to take down a 300-pound man if you learn self-defense, Lisa said "why would you want to do that?" She is not nearly as easygoing and laid-back as she says she is. She is on a drama filled show just like all the rest of the women, engages in the talking back and forth, brings up small slights, holds grudges for years, how the heck is she a man or the stereotype of one? The other women show more interest in stereotypically male hobbies, dress more casually, wear less makeup, it's funny to me the most feminine one is the one who fancies herself a man. It seems like some girls claim to be manly in order to appear cool, but usually those chicks at least are somewhat tomboyish despite also having girlie qualities. Lisa seems pretty damn girlie through and through to me. Now as someone who's pretty girlie/feminine, I'm not putting anyone down if you like pink, prefer cooking and having tea to going to a gym or watching a football game. Just don't pretend to be something you're not when other women don't like something you said or did. If I were having a disagreement with a woman and she blurted out "I'm a man!" I'd think what the hell?! lol No you're a woman who either doesn't or refuses to see things my way.
