  1. I thought the fight at the Tower of Joy was okay. Not great, not terrible, just okay. *shrugs* I love comparing the King's Landing scenes from the earlier seasons and the KL scenes from this season. The aftermath of Joffrey's reign, Tywin's death, and Cersei's dumbass decisions is evident; it's not as safe to be in the capital as it was during Robert's reign, and the place is practically dead compared to the way it was before. It used to be a bustling, busy city, now it's practically a graveyard. Jon leaving the Night's Watch was a beautiful thing, but I couldn't help but feel a little bad for Sam, who knows nothing about it and still believes he is going to the Citadel in part to help Jon. I have a soft spot for Sam and Gilly, I want those two crazy kids to make it. Oh, well, it's not like Sam becoming a maester is a bad thing, by any means. Even with Jon no longer at the Wall, it's a good move for him. I think Howland Reed was finally introduced not because Jon and Meera are twins (too "Star Wars" for this series), but so Bran can find him and learn the truth about what went down at the Tower of Joy. I don't think Bloodraven is going to tell him or show him with a flashback, I think that's something Bran will have to discover on his own. And Howland Reed is the only person still living who can tell him about what happened, so there you go. I have nothing to say about Tyrion in Meereen. It's disappointing that Peter Dinklage has been reduced to the comic relief character. Give him something to do.
  2. Agreed. Now, they can be adorably androgynous together.
  3. Aw, MAN. I am the biggest Prince fan, and I am legitimately saddened by this. He was a once-in-a-lifetime talent and a legendary performer. RIP, Prince. :(
  4. I'm going to take "I Love You, Baby" as a clue that Adam will either step up as Sample's parental figure, or Jessa will announce a pregnancy. Maybe both. Of course, the "I Love You" could mean that they fight over one of them saying, "I love you." Which probably means they will break up. Because no one on this show can grow and flourish in an adult relationship, and they all must regress and live in misery. *sigh*
  5. I agree that Marnie and Ray have no chemistry, and I don't get why Ray is still hung up over Marnie when she treated him like garbage. Maybe that's the appeal? Pretty, polished, bitchy girl? I don't know, but it doesn't work for me. I wonder if Hannah blowing Ray will lead to anything? When Shosh found out about Marnie and Ray, she screamed in Marnie's face.
  6. I felt really bad for Fran when Hannah ran from him in public, like he was some kind of rapist, instead of talking to him and telling him she wanted to break up. Then I felt really bad for Ray after Hannah's, um, activity caused him to crash his truck and Hannah showed absolutely no remorse for it. Then I chuckled when Jesse finally told Hannah she and Adam were fucking, because that's exactly the kind of thing a selfish twit like Hannah deserves. She blows through life like a hurricane and doesn't give the teeniest, tiniest fuck how she effects other people. Having your ex and your former friend get together is pretty low on the karmic scale, but at least something was dealt to the little asshole. Sorry, I just don't like Hannah and I think she is a horrible person. She's fascinating to watch, though, I'll give her that. I may be a little in love with Hector, just for his enthusiasm at seeing NYC for the first time. That was a beautiful moment. Looks like Hannah will quit teaching and return to writing, which should be interesting. I doubt she's really learned anything of value that would contribute to her being a better writer, because, well, Hannah is like that. She's like Teflon, nothing sticks. I have nothing to say about Marnie and Desi, but I will agree with all those who say Lisa Bonet is absolutely gorgeous. When you're a 48 year old woman in Hollywood who can still play a 20-something's girlfriend, believably, that is unreal. Go, Lisa.
  7. I gotta wonder if Hannah's road trip with Fran "gets cut short" because he unceremoniously dumps her ass and leaves her stranded in the middle of nowhere. I can see Fran doing something like that.
  8. I would love to see a Ken Burns spoof. "The Civil War" would be perfect. Another good one would be "An American Family"; I can see Fred Armisen playing the hell out of a Lance type character. "7 Up" would also be great.
  9. What about Caroline and Laird? I think they work, but I wish Caroline wasn't so bitchy about agave.
  10. Sounds good to me, lol.
  11. The reason they love her is because she is on their level, maturity-wise. Wasn't she called into the principal's office for bad-mouthing the other teachers to her students? Hannah just doesn't understand the concept of boundaries, and these dummies at St. Whatever are letting her get away with it. At this point she could probably fuck a male student and not get fired because hey, the kids love her! What's the problem? I just...this is a strange little world they've got goin' on, here. So far removed from anything I'm familiar with. :/
  12. Thank you, Desi, for the inspirational thread title. :) Hannah & Adam, Hannah & Fran, Jessa & Adam, Marnie & Desi, Marnie & Ray, Shoshanna & Ray...discuss the musical chairs style swapping of 'Girls' couples here. I will start by saying I absolutely love Jessa and Adam together and I hope that they last, though the history of this show doesn't make it likely that they will.
  13. I never thought Desi was hot, but he was looking pretty good last night. I have no idea how private schools in NYC work, but would they be more tolerable of Hannah's behavior than most? I can't see how she is still a teacher, with all the shit she's pulled. If she doesn't get fired, I will wave bye-bye to any credibility this show ever had. Jesus. I thought Jessa looked cute as hell in her 70's outfit, and I love her Adam together. That is all.
  14. She said the whole Hannah flashing her vag incident was a way to show how incompatible Hannah and Fran really are. She said the move was "classic Hannah" and that Fran "might not see the humor in it". Whatever the hell that means.
  15. I just realized that Adam's niece is named after two girls he has slept with. Erm. :/
  16. Marnie's line about being 25 1/2 confused me. In the first season, Hannah was 24 and I assumed Marnie and Hannah were the same age, since they were in the same class at college together. Shouldn't Marnie be older than that by now? More than a year has passed since the start of the series, she should be closer to 30.
  17. Is Hannah finally going to get fired from her job? I really hope so.
  18. Cate likes to dress like an elderly woman, maybe she thinks she should live like one.
  19. Didn't Cory and Topanga hate each other at the start of Boy Meets World? I remember him thinking she was a weirdo the first season, then BOOM!- they were madly in love the next, and always had been. Since I had taken a break and returned to the show, it really confused me. I did not get the great love story.
  20. No mention of Bella and Edward from Twilight? Wow. I thought they would own this thread.
