  1. interesting pov, here's a different one from tv tropes, not mine though, was wondering your thoughts on it Benjamin "Bud" Greer (who was played by future Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Courtney B. Vance) from the episode "Rage", which the basis of the story is taken from the Long Island Subway killer, Colin Ferguson. Even if he was on the snobbish side, his character was this because he was unfairly rejected by both Black and White society for as long as he remembered and his boss/victim was an unlikable, money-hungry, racist jerkass who it was difficult to care about, unlike Ferguson who slaughtered random people. was mixed on the episode myself
  2. here's hopefully a good topic what cases did you feel the Prosecution shouldn't have won or that you are surprised they did win?
  3. lovely singing also plot twist, paul changed so much after he left in season 4 because he was also being a part time singer and needed to put all his soul into that which changed his legal personality
  4. i know people dislike nina but i found some interesting thoughts on nina, i was just indifferent to her tbh Another real good example of fandom not cutting women slack was Season 17 of the original Law & Order, aka the only season with a female detective as a main lead, now say what you will about Nina Cassady but to the best of my recollection the fandom even now never tries to give the chica a chance, 7 years after the original show ended and there's still a lot of vitriol not at the writers but at the character herself. Unlike her predecessor, but maybe it's because Dennis Farina was leaving. also on reddit one person said they didn't like her but said if their boss told them they hated them on the first day of work, they would be unsure of themselves and lack confidence too
  5. here's a fun discussion from another forum i am on if you could show the revival writers episodes which in your opinion are the best of the best, the prime examples of classic law and order, which ones would you choose?
  6. the guy who did shoot her got off easy with the man 1 offer, probably too easy tbh, that being said, i do wonder if he had grounds for appeal since his lawyer had a beef with jamie, and the guy said to make the deal in front of jack and her, and he refused to and started a big thing don't think he really deserved the man 1 offer but again i do wonder if that could be grounds for appeal
  7. anyone know what episode this is, was browsing tv tropes In one episode of Law & Order, the detectives and district attorney are trying to solve a murder that appears to have been done by a hitman who was hired by either the dead man's Gold Digger wife or her lover. Then they learn that the dead man borrowed a lot of money from an old friend, which makes them think he might be the guilty party. It turns out that the dead man himself hired the hitman. He was dying of cancer, but he wanted to frame both the wife and the lover as retaliation for the affair. He only left a video confession to be played in the event that the officers tried to arrest his friend.
  8. i liked it too and it would have been a good chance to develop her character and have her learn she needs to be tough to be a da
  9. with all the gloomy news lately i had a thought to cheer up people or at least have a cheap laugh if you could hire any living actor to be in the revival, whom would you choose? it can be serious or for a joke my serious one for the police, have Susan Kelechi Watson as senior detective, brandon quinn as a junior and for captain Linlyn Lue for the da side avery brooks as DA, Constance Marie as the main ada and Troy Gentile as her assistant for a joke one, not meant to be serious at all jacob black from twilight as junior detective, red forman as captain, patchy the pirate as senior detective napoleon dynamite as ada and Dariela Marzan as his assistant , rebecca pearson as DA absurd i know but hey, if svu can screw around and do stupider stuff for a good 7 years then i can make a cheap joke
  10. I am aware that our society is suppose to be innocent until proven guilty but yeah this is rather troubling considering there are 3 different allegations, maybe that's why he is supposed to only be there for one season? unless someone has a bone to pick with chris or Anthony or even dick wolf and is trying to ruin their careers or the revival from the start
  11. found this out yesterday...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Anderson#Rape_and_sexual_assault_allegations this is rather disturbing to say the least, also puts the character's comments about abortion and rape in that one episode in a different light, think it was called dignified or something surprised he is returning if this kind of thing has been alleged for years
  12. you never know with today's culture and what people think, i've seen shows and other things cancelled or dropped for far less terrible things
  13. i wonder if the news about chris will affect the reboot or cause it to be cancelled, it's a bad stain on it, appearing right when it was announced jack was returning
  14. unless the guy who played beltran appeared in another episode that had ben in it
  15. hmm that was too tricky and weird of a question wasn't it, also the original question was from about a drama show that wasn't a crime one which was much simpler to answer here's one, people always complain about characters like serena, nora, nina, fonata and curtis but here's a hopefully better question how would you rewrite or improve the characters you dislike, and don't say you would kill them off or remove them completely, that's too cliche one idea i had for nora based off other comments, the teenage wasteland episode could be considered the loss of innocence for nora, i.e. when she realizes she needs to be tougher and less soft as someone in her position and she becomes more active and less passive if you wanted for a bit of irony, maybe one episode she proceeds to get too tough and mccoy and whoever need to convince her to reel it back a bit, like be tough but don't over do it, similarly to the one episode with a fight club and the people there being charged with terrorism before cutter persuaded mccoy to reel it back a bit
  16. here's a interesting question i saw on reddit once what single episode would you show someone who never watched or even heard of the show that you think would guarantee they would be interested or an episode that would most likely make them not want to watch more episodes
  17. i wonder how he would have handled fixed if he was still on the show
  18. wait is this serious?
  19. one idea to avoid mccoy's character being wrecked by svu i had was this mccoy was sick and had taken a leave of absence so someone else was in charge while he was away, then they can have their character wrecked without ruining mccoy, don't know if that would work irl or if that is how it is done irl if the da is sick but since svu is really unrealistic then i guess i can play around and screw around with how things work in the da office
  20. https://deadline.com/2021/11/jeffrey-donovan-star-law-order-revival-nbc-1234865979/ some news about the possible cast for the revival not familiar with this actor at all really
  21. classic line, you know that line partly inspired my what plots wouldn't work nowadays because of technology advances post i wrote before
  22. on the youtube channel they were airing scenes from human flesh search engine and people were commenting on how the episode seem to predict cancel culture and internet shaming, thought it was pretty amusing and the episode was pretty great, what's your thoughts on the episode and it seeming to predict those things
  23. hmm my last post didn't really work did it? though i guess that shows the mostly timeless quality, also with manhood and panic, if they did air it today, they would pretty much HAVE to have the defendants found guilty on all charges and have the gay panic defense completely and miserably fail in court, also if the death penalty was still a thing, likely they would be sentenced to death here's a good one hopefully, what real life cases since it first went off the air would you like to see them cover? hopefully they could do it more subtly then svu does
  24. oh i haven't seen it in a long time, maybe i was thinking of something else, thanks for telling me,
