I guess I'm a lame, hopeless romantic, but I'm absolutely loving Trina and Spencer together. Yes, even with him being too messy for her. It's about time she got a love interest all to herself, especially one that pursues her first for a change. I do wonder how long it will be until either Trina or Portia asks Curtis about "Victor" working at the Savoy, though. Yes to Ava and Portia being friendly during this episode. Maura West goes great with everyone, huh? Molly and Martin were a nice touch and I totally should've seen that twist coming. Curtis was annoying today. I agree that Jordan should just sign the papers already, but damn dude, give her a break. I guess someone can't wait to get with Portia, lol. It'll be interesting to see him go off on Aunt Stella tomorrow.

Thoughts: 1) I don't live far from Bridgeport and I go there often. I totally agree that it's not the Brooklyn of Chicago, lol. I found Donovan complaining about BP to be kinda off-putting, but I scratched my head at them renovating there. Her style and price-point seem to be a mismatch for that area, IMO. I knew she wasn't going to get much of a profit from it. 2) God, that black exterior sticks out like a sore thumb. If she was going to stick with that color choice, I wish she would've put some color on it to not make stand out so much among the surrounding houses. 3) I really loved that stained address window. I wouldn't have guessed it was brand new when I saw it in a preview. Everything else in the house looked nice (i liked the antiques this time around), but I could've done without the gold fixtures in the bathrooms and that mini golf course. 4) Still want to hear Donovan's side of everything, ha.

My favorite hate-watch is back, lol. Honestly, the drama from this episode is just what I needed and I kinda liked knowing more about what happens behind the scenes financially. However, I am just dumbfounded at how out of sync Alison and Donovan are with each other and their projects. Not knowing your business partner already spent over $700K on a house that's roughly 50% done? Insane. Also, I'm not buying that Alison is all innocent in this whole thing no matter how much she whines about Donovan. Not one bit. This house ended up looking nice, but I question whether or not some of those finishes were worth it (the answer is no since she lost $$ on the house). I did like the closet doors in the front, but that ox blood dresser? For her to just paint over it, I felt like she probably could've gotten something cheaper and it would've had the same effect. Oddly enough, I didn't mind the black exterior. As someone who lives in Chicago, I do look forward to the next episode as I'm curious to see what they'll do in Bridgeport, ha. I never thought they would look at something in the south side.

Jeez, am I the only person on these forums that likes Keke? She just seems like a lot of fun and I honestly think she vibes well with Michael and Sara. No, the show isn't perfect (I do find it pretty cheesy at times), but it's gotten a lot better since it started. I might be biased though since I grew up with her. We keep the ABC channel on at work and those 3 break up the day nicely. As for today, it was annoying to watch since the ladies talked over each other more than usual.

That absolutely describes her, lol. Or she'll default to some rhetoric about "coming together as a country" instead of critically thinking about an issue or just kinda ignoring it altogether.

There are times when I try to like Abby. However, with her rant about climate change, she keeps bringing me back to that "white moderate" type that MLK talked about in the Letter From Birmingham Jail. Yes, it's about race, but the bolded text refers to how she a lot of the time approaches a complex issue: "First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

As a black woman who grew up in places with very little diversity in the Midwest, Meghan needs to go sit down somewhere with her talk about how hard it is to be a conservative in NYC. She can hide being conservative, but I can't hide my skin color.

See, I don’t think Abby really got it about white privilege. She kept focusing on not apologizing for “who you are” instead of just acknowledging the privileges that being white affords you. No one cares if you’re not sorry about being white, Abby. She and Meghan came off so tone deaf in that convo, unsurprisingly.

Oh god, I had to laugh at Joy basically setting up Meghan by asking her to describe a scandal of the Obama administration. She of course took the bait.

I’m from Indiana as well and I totally agree with this. However, I enjoyed his take on religion and what that meant for him in politics, even if I don’t care for religion in politics.

I know I've said this before, but I finish AV would broaden her horizons when it comes to choosing neighborhoods. I also know she's gone to other areas throughout the show, but it seems like she's always in Bucktown. But hey, at least she's not very likely to flip homes in my neighborhood and turn all of the lovely multi-flat houses there into single-family houses, haha. Anyways, I also loved the blue cabinets and how they contrasted with the orange hood and that larger cabinet. Something different! At first, I was into the half modern/half historical design. I really enjoy having the charm and history of an older home, but also having modern finishes inside the home. However, it now looks disjointed to me after looking at actual old and new homes on Trulia and how the owners maintain the houses. Well, at least how AV does it.

Like most everyone here, I was definitely sad that she ripped that façade of the Hoyne house. That's the history there! I'd love to see her step out of her safe zone as well. I'd personally like to some properties that are less pricey and *gasp* are outside of the north side if the show lasts that long.

There was something I found off putting about Abby and I couldn’t put my finger on it. 100% agree with you. I find that she always has the most milquetoast opinions, especially when it comes to social issues.

It was, indeed! I agree with you on her going a bit overboard. She could've done basic upscale finishes, saved some $$, and still gotten a lot per unit. It is Lincoln Park after all. I did love the faux paint and the entertainment, though. That was cool! I can't imagine paying $2700/month for an apartment and NOT having an in-unit washer/dryer. Girl, bye! I am not sure about the rules of renovating in Chicago. I remember Alison having to get her plans approved in Episode 1, so I could see those rules being in effect with some neighborhoods.

That's fair about the white paint. I personally thought it was fine, but I could see it working with a light brown paint to help it blend in more. As far as her Chicago accent goes, I feel like I've met so many native Chicagoans here that have a pretty neutral accent like Alison does. But what do I know, I'm originally from Indiana, haha.

Has anyone here seen this show? I know it's another flipping show, but I'm really liking it so far. I actually live in Chicago, so I like being able to see the various locations around the city. It'll be interesting what neighborhoods Alison decides to flip houses in as the show goes on. Maybe one where houses are more affordable? ;) For the first episode, I really liked that Alison kept some vintage details in the house and kept some of the original house's soul. I enjoyed the second house as well.

Yeah, I still think Coco would be out, lol. However, this show tests several areas of the queens' talents and it seems a bit unfair to have it come down to just one for the crown. I will say that the finale was an interesting way to change things up.

Oh man. I didn't like this format. Yes, Trinity (who I thought should've won against Peppermint) and Shea could've lip-synced better. Yes, I thought Sasha was the correct winner with this format, even though I wanted Shea or Trinity to win. However, I feel like the queens' performances during the season meant squat and this could set a precedent for queens to only be a good lip-syncer and to get away with being lackluster in other areas. I would hope the finale is different next year so queens don't get any ideas about that. With that off my chest, congrats to Sasha!

Some thoughts: 1) This episode and Untucked were just really sad to watch. It was hard watching Valentina implode like that. I was really rooting for her to take the crown, but her elimination was justified. Hopefully, we'll see Valentina on AS3. 2) I honestly liked the Mary Nun pilot more than Sashea's pilot, but I was happy to see them win. 3) I was living for Peppermint's look tonight! 4) I've been pretty annoyed with Nina lately, but her note to Valentina in Untucked was very sweet. 5) At this point, I hope Shea or Trinity takes the crown. They've also been my favorites.

My friend and I were watching this episode together and we said the same thing about the marital problems and the child. So very weird. The show needs to let Derek and Heather go. She's clearly over it. "I want Sonia to move back in." Ha, yeah right. I want Tom and Lillian to make it, but I don't know about them lasting in the long run. I agree with the poster about them clashing her being a breadwinner and him being cheap.

Tom and Lily: Oh please, let this couple work out.... Nick and Sonia: I think they'll work out.......as friends. I cringe whenever I watch them.

Oh boy, I haven't posted here in awhile. Heather and Derek: I'm so glad they called it quits. There was no way I could see them moving in together. I read the comments from people live-tweeting on Twitter and I was put off by how many people were blindly defending Derek. Heather is far from perfect, but damn. I found the shots of them after the decision were unnecessary as well. I also hate all of you that pointed out Lillian's "Me and Tom" tic. It's hard for me to ignore it now. Haha
