  1. I see two things in that photo. Inebriation and what I call predator delusions. In my experience hardened predators do not feel what they have done is wrong. They understand full well the legalities of the situation, but they do not accept it as morally or ethically wrong and they think they are going to be able to ultimately sway opinions and walk free. They are also supreme victims when the ultimate weight of the law is unmistakably coming to rest on top of them. Once it does it's like a literal switch flips and they are once again attempting to seize absolute control and point out how they are being wronged by everyone involved in prosecuting them, insist they are going to ultimately prove their innocence and go free.
  2. Josh will be a registered offender for the rest of his life, potentially limiting their freedom to make choices. That's not the only reason I suspect the toothpaste ain't going back in the tube this time. Bottom line, JB is a pragmatist with an eye to his self interests. I think Josh will no longer be allowed to come inside the perimeter again. JB may provide a truly meagre subsistence with the proviso Josh is not to be seen or heard from again, but I expect that's where it's going to be in JB's all out bid for self preservation. Denouncing Josh will provide the only prospect of cover from public opinion.
  3. Wonder how often she and Jessa have interacted over the years? Might be an interesting dynamic to sit back and watch play out.
  4. Ah, I get it. Seems like they're setting themselves up for failure, or at least some seriously challenging years ahead with so many very young children.
  5. Have I become the Rip Van Winkle of Covid? I'm not exactly top of the class on math and biology, but is that actually possible?
  6. Can't forget the saccharine, keep sweet, baby voice delivery. I can imagine what the reality of hearing her voice unleashed, echoing through the TTH and truly yelling at her offspring is really like.
  7. A lot of people who are interested in owning a substantial amount of property wouldn't like the open space cut by fences, so it may not actually be what the Rebers consider an asset or improvement, rather an eyesore.
  8. Just when I think TLC cannot possibly get any mankier they manage to prove me wrong yet again. You truly have to wonder if anyone at that network has any idea what ethics or scruples are -- or even a scrap of humanity for that matter.
  9. I've said it before, that looked actually enjoyable, far more than anything producers have cooked up as a plot driver for the show -- setting aside they did the whole thing during a pandemic. A lot of what she planned looked like it would be a great fall afternoon for a family with young kids -- present company absolutely excluded. I think Lauren actually could work as an event planner, possibly even a wedding planner if she lived a less insular lifestyle and was exposed to a variety of vendors and built a network of people she could direct her clients to. I'm not suggesting that's imminent or likely, just that it's apparent she has some talents there. Even using it within their confines I can't blame her if she chooses to develop an outlet for her talents and interests. I cannot imagine a life sentence in that community.
  10. Years ago we went out to dinner with my mother and our then very young daughters. Youngest was probably around two and a half, approaching but not yet three. Our pastor and his wife happened to be eating at the same restaurant and he stopped by our table to say hello. When he walked away our youngest looked up from scribbling on her placemat and tells my mom -- that was God.
  11. Did they really talk about blanket training on the show? I can't believe that didn't get backlash. Not saying I don't believe what you said, just shocked they didn't lose their audience and show right then.
  12. Oh come on, if Jinger caught him staring it was in a mirror, at a reflection of himself.
  13. Will you still be reachable by pager though?
  14. Oops. Obviously I didn't attend the classes to know all the secrets of making a home properly.
  15. Hold up, wasn't Austin's wife trained in homemaking skills in one of the preeminent bastions of knowledge for learning those traditional skills in the 21st century? Surely he must be eating well balanced, supremely nutritious, homecooked meals that would help him stay fit, particularly with his active, manly lifestyle?
  16. Wow, I didn't realize that. Usually they show the dads essentially beating their chests like a gorilla whle standing over the daughters about to enter a courtship or currently courting.
  17. Never thought I'd say this, but thank goodness for Jeremy. It's a pleasure to have something to reliably snark about again.
  18. That I would tune in for!
  19. Agree. If you ask me that is textbook pictorial representation of a visceral reaction. Really sad if you think that there's a possibility they may in fact actually go on "doing life" together for their entire adult lives and in fact possibly never be truly happy together. I am not a strong enough person to face that and go on living my life, day after day, year after year, if that were my situation. I'd much prefer to be on my own.
  20. Every time I think about that aspect all that I can see is either that giant donkey maw in a straight line, lips pursed; or just opening to say something and then closing without uttering a word, over and over again.
  21. Sure. The seventies was marked by powder blue tuxes with white shoes and frilly white shirts. Prom looks for girls even sometimes included plaid and/or olive green and mustard! My daughters both went through the prom phase in the same era as most of the Duggar brides after Anna. Updos were very much of the time -- loose beachy styles, braided styles, sleek chignons, bejeweled looks, etc.
  22. We didn't elope but there were only a dozen of us at our wedding, including us. I never did have wedding daydreams about being a bride, not my thing.
  23. It's very heavily controlled here. The way it gets argued about you almost expect that when they actually show up at the sheriff's office or the police department that warning alerts might go off and there would be an announcement over the pa system about going to defcon one or something.
  24. The basic white college girl look, sure. Just need the requisite PSL in hand and, voila. But when it's their wedding day, or even prom looks in my experience with my own daughters and their friends, they want to stand out, they want to be the star or even a princess and I'd definitely expect to see quite a few different updos in the bunch.
  25. IMO Josh's attorneys would need to file a motion before the Judge and have the Judge give an order granting permission for anyone, even a hired expert, to have access to the raw explicit evidence. I can't see what they could plead before the court and get approval for JB and M to have any ability to go along.
