  1. The first night this show aired I had to shut it off because it made me SO anxious (mainly the idea of bears and cougars attacking) but now I can't get enough of it! Really looking forward to the extra one on Wednesday and hearing some of the inside scoop. I've been pulling for lovely Mitch but darn if Alan hasn't stolen my heart....he's got such a great attitude, and those fish traps! The little ones from bottles were great, but when he went and wove that big one? I was just afraid that when he went back to check on it, it would have been taken away by the tide or something like Mitch's net. Wonder what's anchoring it, just the weight of it? I need to look at their locations again -- are maybe some of them in quieter areas, water-wise? I had to turn away at Sam's mouse gutting, too -- and boy, not much of a meal for all that work. I just love that I can watch a show where really I'm rooting for ALL the guys -- I just wish I could come busting through the trees and bring them all a nice hot home-cooked meal ;)
  2. We're on a Downton Abbey streak....realized halfway through The Dark Rider (season 15) that Diana was Baxter :)
  3. I was sorry when Tom Barnaby left, but I'm getting used to his replacement. Different type, but he's growing on me. Plus there's Sykes ;)
  4. This show has just sucked me in! Half of me is surprised at how fast a few of these guys tagged out...they're supposed to be experienced and prepared and had to have at least SOME idea of what was in store for them. But the other half of me can sort of empathize. I hike with a friend every week in a 1300 acre forest that I like to think we know pretty well and feel totally at home in. This is really my 'happy place.' But one time I went alone and I was shocked at how scary and threatening my old familiar trails felt when I was by myself, and this is in no way an isolated spot. There are black bears (which I've never seen) and coyotes and deer (which I have) but it wasn't that I was afraid of. It was a very odd feeling of the woods being 'against' me when I was by myself. Odd, but I'm willing to give these guys a pass to some degree. I think right now I'm pulling for either Mitch (how cute was his daughter, calling him 'lovely') and Alan because his Julia Child routine killed me ;)
  5. I realized not long ago that without prompting I can STILL sing this commercial word for word. (And now will probably have it in my head the rest of the day ;)
  6. Follow the link on that page to watch the entire 12 minute bit -- watching Kit Harrington twirling a mic and singing "Wildling....you make my heart sing..." while Rose Leslie tosses back popcorn --- priceless!!
  7. That was so nervewracking I actually had to hit pause half a dozen times just to catch my breath. Edd and I both yelled "Oh fuck!" at exactly the same time ;) Oh, and those wight children were some of the creepiest things I've seen on the screen in a long time....off to have nightmares!
  8. You said it! She was my role model in the 60's (who am I kidding...she still is, 50 years later!!) Mrs Peel was smart, gorgeous, and skilled -- no fluffy sidekick role for her! Anybody not familiar with her back then, do a quick google search and check out a few old pictures. :) Seeing her and Jonathan Pryce together = gold!
  9. This is pretty interesting: http://recycledmoviecostumes.tumblr.com/?og=1 Many of these costumes have been used in other, older movies and programs. Downton turns up in quite a few of the examples
  10. Funny -- just today I went on a little adventure, going back to my old house, old neighborhood, and my haunts from the 70's. Then to see tonight's episode -- I had that exact orange-y suede coat with the big furry collar that the roommate wore towards the end ;)
  11. I'm still in Season 6 (just lately discovered this on Netflix) and I'm a little confused. One minute Cully is an actress with an actor boyfriend, and suddenly she's driving a library bus and kissing Gavin? I feel like I missed something in the middle?
  12. I've been binge watching this on Netflix starting with Season 1, and keep IMDB open on another tab because I'm constantly stopping to say, "I KNOW that person! Who IS that??" :) Just saw both Hugh Bonneville and Phyllis Logan from Downton Abbey, and Honor Blackman :)
  13. I believe that's the Hampton String Quartet on the string version of Sympathy if anybody's looking for it :) They cover a lot of classic rock, among other things
  14. I had to rewind that to make sure I'd really seen it -- those tiny little things are what keep me watching!
  15. For me, this has gone from the ridiculous to something that now makes me laugh.....it's like "how many different people/events can they POSSIBLY connect Crane to?" Especially watching next week's preview when we find out about some 'damage' he's responsible for.....our Ichabod has had those long, elegant fingers of his in MANY pies!
  16. THAT'S why that name set a little bell ringing in my head! Nice catch!! :)
  17. I loved the way he used his hands in that scene.....SO expressive. Best episode in awhile!
  18. Just discovered this series yesterday and got sucked into a 9 episode binge-watch. She IS a bit 'practically perfect in every way' but she's also so likeable and good to other people regardless of their social status that I can overlook that :) I'm glad they avoided some of the tropes I expected, like before her butler met her he was glad he was going to be working for someone with a regular routine...a nice quiet lady.....yet we didn't go through all kinds of horrified reactions from him when he finds out the truth. He just jumps right in and becomes part of the household. And while of course Phryne is going to discover clues the police don't, they don't make the police total idiots. She may get the better of them at times, but they're not bumbling fools, either. And yes! LOVE her clothes! I wish I could wear hats like that! ;)
