I don’t think it’s living in fantasy land or arrogance. Many people (men and women alike) who aren’t egomaniacs still have an egocentric opinion on how to make a relationship succeed. They figure “If I’m giving my partner everything I myself would like to get in this relationship, they’ll be happy” because they don’t have the true empathy required to realize different people need to be loved differently. These two were trying to love each other in their own preferred ways and never really cares about what the other said they needed. In the best case scenario, these couples break up. In the next best scenario, one or both cheat (or betray the other in some way) which leads to their breakup. In the worst (and probably most common) scenario, they stay together forever and never know what it is to get the flavor of love they truly need, or know the joy of loving someone else they way that individual really needs to be loved.

Do we know that that’s why she dated him? There doesn’t appear to be a shortage of girls who would like to date James. Personally I can’t blame people for abuses they suffer at the hands of partners who once appeared charming and loving. I just hope they make better decisions next time.

As Lisa said, they’re not bad people. They did a bad thing. I was very much not a fan of the way James spoke to Raquel on the phone- and I liked James before it was cool. But he was a petty little shit kicking her while she was down, considering her relationship with him is probably a major contributor to why she’s having these MH struggles now.

Men and women alike will seek intimacy outside of their relationship if there isn’t enough for them, but only cheaters will seek that intimacy without ending their current relationship. Both Tom and Ariana needed more intimacy. They just had different definitions of it. Tale as old as time. Essentially they’re all pond scum. This is an important reminder.

On a shallow note, Ariana looked more beautiful and more fun than she ever has in that video of her rocking out at Most Extra show (right before she found the incriminating video.) That must have put a real hair across Scandy’s ass.

They probably thought proving the ATF was willing to lie about the doors burning in the fire, then suddenly producing one but saying that it was aluminum instead of steel would create reasonable doubt. Defense attorneys don’t need to prove how events happened, they just need to create doubt that the prosecution’s version is true.
