  1. I would really like the #letsbuycnn to be real. Because I AM Linda, and I can't find my keys. Boyhood needs to open wide, like right now. I am very upset that I can't see it for at least another ten days.
  2. If I was Mika's daughter she would be well advised to sleep with one eye open. Maybe Carly should intern on another MSNBC program, instead of there with her mother. Unless Carly wants witnesses to Mika's inability to be civil to her own children.
  3. I was just coming to ask you guys to explain to me how the issue with the children at the border is "of the President's own making", to quote Boehner. (Speaking of Orange) Did the President say he wouldn't negotiate on the supplemental bill? Is that the bottom line on the amount of money they need to start working on getting those kids better housing, hiring more judges and border security? I try to stay aware of what's going on, but for the life of me I cannot see how anyone is their right mind thinks the is the President's fault. Do we think it would help anything if he did go visit one of the facilities? What would be the negative for him if he did that? I have a friend who is pretty staunch Republican and was blaming the President for the issue, and I explained to him the 2008 law allowing these children to be declared refugees, that they are from Central America, not Mexico, and they're basically turning themselves in the minute they get into the U.S., as they know they have a shot of being here for a while. It's a crisis trying to take care of them, and the courts are backed up on hearings, and that the President can't just willy nilly order deportations. My friend acquiesced on his opinion and said,"I had no idea that was the case, so yeah he pretty much can't do anything without getting more money to get them to facilities and get them processed and sent home. I'm glad you explained it to me". I told him this is what the President deals with daily. People hear these lies, for lack of a better word, and believe them, and it's not like they are also turning on MSNBC or another source to find out the actual truth.
  4. I was absolutely shocked that Joe called Christie out on this. I guess he realized that 2016 Presidential run for Christie is dunzo.
  5. Did you watch Rachel last night? She did a story on the echo chamber of the right wing and how mainstream media is so slow to dispute or point out the hypocrisy of the bullshit they spew 24-7. She even talked about how Boehner is practically tripping over himself trying to keep the "impeach Obama" crowd happy, making noises about suing the President, etc. just until the elections this fall. It's just red meat for the lunatics, in their attempt to keep the House and re-take the Senate. Boehner knows starting impeachment proceedings is not going to help the GOP at all, couple that with the SCOTUS decisions on voting rights, Hobby Lobby, etc., and the Dems could hold the Senate and gain in the House. You have to hand it to Republicans, they shoot themselves in both feet and just keep reloading.
  6. What Bizarro World did I wake up in? Joe was bad mouthing Chris Christie and defending President Obama's foreign policy re: Russia. And even went so far as to say that the President's comments about foreign policy, that taking it slow and hitting singles and doubles, instead of grand slams, sometimes is the better strategy. Also, Joe Biden's idea to divide Iraq into three separate regions, ruled by Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites, might not be such a bad idea. Could Mika's hair get any whiter? She looks awful.
  7. My niece is a huge fan and she has the coloring to pull that off. Dark dark hair, almost black, and pale skin, dark brown eyes. I sent it to her.
  8. paramitch I am right there with you. I love everything about the show so much that the plot is secondary. Just get everyone together and let the fun begin. One of my favorites is Caliban's eloquence. It's like listening to Shakespeare every time he speaks. And you're so right about feeling like you're in a dream while watching, and that makeshift families, the Penny gang (love that) or Scoobies, are the best. Cannot wait for the next season!
  9. I never thought of that, but it's a great theory. Good lord, were Sir Malcolm and her mother having an affair that lasted years? They're quite the sneaky devils. Or maybe he meant that he "had" a daughter, once, but this abomination that Mina had become was no longer his daughter.
  10. Well get ready for "Rachel Tears SCOTUS a New One", Chapter Two, after the Hobby Lobby decision. Gear up, ladies. We've got a war to fight.
  11. I LOVED it!! But these types of stories are my very favorite. Mixing horror/fantasy with reality. Every time Dorian appears, I laugh and say "oh you little hipster doofus". So, we know if Brona becomes The Bride, and if she & Caliban take a stroll thru London, somebody is going to catch a glimpse of her and think he's lost his mind. And then again and again, and this should get real good. How does Victor keep the two of them away from Ethan, and not give away his terrible secret. The Possession episode is Eva Green's Emmy reel. It will be her or Anna Gunn for Best Performance in a Drama. I loved seeing Helen McCrory again. Yes, she'll most definitely be back for S2.
  12. But I heard someone say they walk right up to the door. The public sidewalk is parallel or on the perimeter of a property, The walk from the public sidewalk to the entrance is not. I've developed enough properties to know that. So they cannot be on anything that the city/county does not maintain. Anything that is within the land deeded to the owner of the property is private. Yes it sucks that they're even allowed that close, but going right up to the door. That's trespassing.
  13. I knew Rachel would go batshit with that decision about the buffer zones. That is absolute bullshit. I was listening to NPR on the way home and one of the Operation Rescue fuckwads said that he doesn't want to yell or scare the women, but to gently describe to them the horrors of what is going on inside the clinics. Really, sir? How many abortions have you had that you have first hand knowledge of what happens? I was screaming at the radio and I'm sure the driver next to me at the light thought I was insane. What about trespassing on private property? If these clinics aren't on public property, why can't the owner of the building stop anyone who doesn't have a reason to be there get away from the doors? I work in real estate and we don't allow whatever jack ass wants to stroll around our buildings and harass tenants and their guests. We ask them to leave and then tell them if not, we'll have the arrested for trespassing. I've run off people in the building trying to sell fake paintings and perfume, to boys out in the parking lot on their skate boards. It was one step forward, two steps back for Indiana yesterday. The ban on same sex marriage in the state is lifted, but the Supreme Court finds a way to ruin the day anyway.
  14. He already sold his soul in return for the painting.
  15. If Eva Green doesn't get an Emmy nomination, (and win) there is no justice. Good catch that maybe Sir Malcolm is guilty of somehow bringing this Egyptian demon god back to England and the subsequent possessions of Vanessa and Mina. FYI - if you ever wake up around 5 am and are having breakfast, kinda woozy, watching this episode of Penny D will wake you the fuck up in a hurry. it's been almost 6 hours and I still have the adrenaline rushing thru me from this episode. What the fuck meter officially broke on this one.
  16. You're being too nice, mulletorhater. It's not like those two things are mutually exclusive. Dick and Liz Cheney are evil personified.
  17. Since when does Joe think he's going to garner points with ANYONE for carrying water for that d bag Cheney and his hag daughter? Is Joe so naive that he doesn't think Cheney was behind everything we did in Iraq, manipulating CIA intelligence briefs to Bush, forcing Powell to go to the UN with that bullshit story, etc. I liken Cheney's actions now to MacBeth's wife - “Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand?" Not that he has a conscience, but he will go to his deathbed trying to convince people that he was right, and trying to wash the guilt from his soul. May he rot in hell. And, please for the love of God Joe, STFU about your sources in Intel, unless you're talking about the computer company.
  18. Will Tweety ever stop his nightly tongue bathing of Hillary Clinton? We get it! You want her to be President! But now you're going to have to deal with her biting the hand that made her the Secretary of State, in order to court independents and conservatives, and if she isn't careful, watch as the President ends up helping Joe Biden with his coterie of backers and their money. Her ascension to the throne isn't guaranteed, so maybe let this play out before you make an even bigger fool of yourself. A Joe Biden/Elizabeth Warren ticket would kick her ass.
  19. I have to agree with Joe and Ratner on the Triple Crown deal. Not the way California Chrome's owner acted, but it doesn't seem fair for some horses to run one race and others run them all. If this is the "Triple Crown", then you enter all three races. JMO, others may vary. I saw a little of where Joe Klein was touting his article about Hillary being the nominee and Joe's head was exploding and he was screaming that Hillary won't be able to not say how she disagreed with the President on everything, and it will hurt her with Dems and help her with independents and conservatives. A few seconds of Joe shrieking is more than I need on a Monday morning. Welcome back Oakville!!
  20. I thought Brona would end up being the bride, right before she collapsed on the street. Then when she fell down coughing up blood, I was like "yeah, this is not going to end well for anyone". Very disappointed we didn't get to see the portrait. Cannot wait for that reveal. I ff'd thru the rat fight thing. I was afraid it would keep me up. This show really just does not back away from anything. It reminds me of Hannibal, in that it will push the gore factor as far as it needs to. WTF's for this episode - three. The cat, Fenton getting impaled on the window frame, and the Chandler/Dorian hook up. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just surprised me.
  21. I wondered what was going on with Mika pooh poohing the exoneration report of Christie. Joe was sure full steam ahead mode in getting Christie back into the 2016 race. DId they mention that last night Bill Stepien issued a press release that even HE thought bringing up his relationship with Bridget Kelly was out of line. Rachel read it during her show, it had just broke about 9:15 and she was going crazy about how the report was basically "Slut Shaming: 101".
