  1. I've never really wanted Felicity to suit up (although it is bugging me that Curtis eventually will with essentially similar skills) but damn she would look amazing in a leather suit if the picture with the bar and ponytail are any indication.
  2. Do you guys think Arrow will get its own 100 episode party like shows normally get or will it end up being the crossover event thing they did the first year? Hoping for the former, expecting the latter.
  3. I'm about as excited for the evolution of Mr Terrific as I was for the evolution of BC, which is to say not at all.
  4. Cameron pledged we could have a referendum if the Conservatives were re-elected. It was a way for him to win the election and ironically has led to him having to now resign. Also number 2 is severely depressing.
  5. I remember at COH2, Emily said that it was explained to her that she still owns Palmer Tech even though she isn't the CEO. So I guess she will still have involvement and that's why she stayed? I don't know. The new guy they're casting (I want to say James?) could be the new CEO maybe? I don't understand business on this show.
  6. I just noticed that Felicity slightly hits him with her purse and he makes like a grimace face, like that could actually hurt him. Bless them. I have to be honest, I really miss them. :(
  7. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. It was kinda meh. The Dhark conflict has been dragged out too long this season that it was just like, let's just end this instead of doing the same dance over and over again. I think what this season was missing was a great twist regarding Dhark and Hive. We were told that he was going to let the world die to rebuild in the first episode and then by the end of the season all that changed is we found out how. I miss the unfolding mystery that we had with the Undertaking in season 1 and even the slow reveal of Slade in 2. There was not really a compelling storyline for the whole season. This led to a really anticlimatic fight and hence finale. Not sure how I feel about Diggle leaving. Wasn't the whole reason he joined Oliver because he wanted to do good but didn't know what he was fighting for with the military after he shot that young soldier? Also not a fan that he's leaving Lyla and Sara. Their end scene really got me though. I'm really disappointed with Thea's storyline this season. The bloodlust was so promising and it amounted to a whole lot of nothing. Hopefully she'll come back next season with a plot actually about her. I did like that she used the daughter. I was happy with the Olicity ending. Felicity was given every reason to leave; no job, no family, almost no friends, trauma from nuking a town but she chose to stay and fight with Oliver. Thats quite a hopeful ending. Overall, I know SA said this felt like a season finale whereas last year felt like a series finale. I would disagree and say that this felt more like a series finale. Everybody picked a path here, all the relationships are in a steady place, unlike with Diggle last year. They could pick up in 5 months time, they could pick up in 2 years time. If I wanted to, I could stop watching right now and it would be a mostly satisfying ending. The promo for season 5 is going to be so important because other than Russia they didn't really set up much.
  8. I really agree with this. Donna could so easily have been awful, and while there are times where I'm side-eying her (episode 20 or 21 with that weird speech to Quentin) she does feel like a real person. I think the name Smoak for Donna and Felicity is really clever, because if you look at both women on the surface they come across one way, but underneath the smoke if you will, they have so much depth. Not to be underestimated. Also super happy with Tom Amandes as Felicity's dad. He has great chemistry with Emily and again whilst he is a criminal he isn't doing the over the top bad guy thing. Seems like a real person with serious familial commitment issues. I really love how we got to see Felicity and her dad exactly as Donna described them in S3 episode 5 as this team that she feels left out of. They've really nailed the casting for the Smoaks.
  9. So I think everyone that was there at the con has pretty much covered everything but here's my thoughts on my first con experience. I didn't think it was possible to love David Ramsay more, but he was amazing. He just took that little bit longer to interact with you and just came across as really grateful that people turned up to see him and cared so much. His OTA love is unmatched, he mentioned several times how much he enjoyed that dynamic and he really enjoyed S1 and 2 the best and wants to get back to the street level of fighting. Although he did say he thought the Brick character was great and I was just like nah. I was going to ask him about the Dyla lie situation but someone asked it just before me and my mind went blank so I rambled some question about consequences of killing Andy (he said something about repercussions to be seen next year I guess regarding where it propels Diggle from hereon) and how much the Delicity relationship has been lacking this year. I also don't think it was possible to adore Emily anymore than I did but she is such an engaging, bouncy, quirky cupcake. I did get to go to her lounge and yes she does hate that Valentino coat. She also talked about how there was a big debate on set about whether Felicity moved out of the loft. Emily doesn't think Felicity would have stayed there. She didn't agree with that. She also talked about inconsistencies we sometimes see because it's hard to check stuff when they are shooting in Vancouver and the writers are in LA. She confirmed that her S3 apartment, the Ivy town house and the house Thea and Alex are in Under the Dome were all rented properties. He fav episode was 2x06 for S4a and 2x22 for S4b. She wants more Felicity outside the Lair. She seemed exhausted by Sundays lounge. I can absolutely understand why she doesn't do more cons. You have to be on all the time, being moved from place to place, and yeah the money may be good but it looks like ridiculous amounts of hard work. I would not do that during my time off. I got a Stephen/Emily pic, but I barely even remember the experience. It was so fast and like you're literally herded around like cattle. I didn't even say anything but Hi and Thank You. To top it all off it wasn't printed and the system is so crap there's no way they could do refunds and if your pic doesn't show up online or whatever there's nothing there to prove it. Actually I thought the whole organisation of this con was terrible from the schedule being a vague indicator that your extra thing might happen around some time in this vicinity to just the general concept of doing mass photoshoots with no guarantee that people will actually receive their photos. It's put me off rogue events. Also the whole thing appears to be run by volunteers so it's not like they have any power to do anything. I missed most of Willa/Colton's talk because of the Olicity pic but they seemed super lovely from what I saw. They really do have a natural chemistry. Both Willa and Emily were vocal/passionate about the fact that there needs to be more women on the show. There are only 2 regular women on this show and how it appears that it's the women that are always dying. On a similar note I caught some of Danielle Panabaker's panel and she said how she wants more females and more female interaction. KC came across quite well imo. I don't agree with her reasoning with a lot of things especially re Oliver/Laurel but I thought she answered the questions well because she absolutely 100% unequivocally believes what she believes re Because Comics. She was 100% consistent with her soulmates story. I asked her the question about whether the Oliver scene after Tommy's funeral was the bigger contributing factor to Laurel's downward spiral in S2 because the way it was shot with her being happy to move on with Oliver but then being so devastated when she got the letter made it seem like she cared more about losing Oliver. I do regret asking this question, it's something I would probably have preferred to discuss with Marc Guggenheim, but she answered it well with the idea of all the loss compounded pushing her towards addiction, which ok I can buy, and does make sense with what we saw in S2. Although I did not ask that question very well at all; public speaking is not for me. OTA crashing the panel at the end was the highlight for me. There's just something about those three together. They have instant chemistry and it was great to see how many people also enjoyed their relationship. So thank you David Ramsay. John Barrowman is hilarious and it's such a shame Malcolm sucks because John is pretty awesome. Other random thoughts, Amy Gumenick looks remarkably like both KC and EBR mixed together. I thought Franz from LOT was great. Really funny and engaging. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, although I learnt that I have even less patience than I thought and cons are not really for me which is probably a good thing for my bank account.
  10. I bought my Stephen/Emily photo ticket! Yay! You can do OTA under the Team Arrow photo but that seemed excessive for me. Also I totally cheated and went early and got registered so I could get my ticket. They didn't seem to mind.
  11. The worse thing for me is you have to have registered to buy a ticket for a photo op and they allocate a time for you to register. My registration time isn't until 5.30. With only 15 mins for a Stephen and Emily photo there's no way tickets will be available. It doesn't seem very fair.
  12. The Team Arrow photo op is only 15 minutes. How is that even smart? And it's at 10:15, Emily's talk finishes at 10:15. I plan stuff for a living and this is giving me a migraine.
  13. I can't see the schedule on their website, has anyone got a link? Found it.That looks like awful planning. Do they even watch the show?
  14. The reason Ray and Oliver never got fired is because they have penises. Men can get away with so much more whilst women are held to much higher standards in so many aspects of life but especially business. I agree with kismet that they never wanted Felicity. She was thrust upon them and then she continually did things they didn't approve of like not firing people, trying to make the biostimulant affordable and missing meetings. Her missteps overshadowed her accomplishments for them. I am actually glad that she got fired only for the reason that maybe she can start her own empire on her own terms. That's the hope anyway but this is Arrow so they'll probably have her have to go back for some nonsensical reason they pull out of their hat in the eleventh hour.
  15. Urgh. I wish they could have the conversation in the fic on the show. It outlines all the things I feel Felicity must be feeling, but the show just doesn't seem to want to put into words. We still really haven't got Felicity's point of view on this mess. And why is the show so reluctant to own up to the fact that Oliver was lying to her and going to Central City essentially leading a double life. It would really help explain Felicity's anger especially since they don't want to show her pov. I'm so on the fence on them getting back together this season, because on the one hand they're so much better without the angst and I want to just forget this crap storyline and on the other hand I really need them to address the issues that this has brought up and I don't think an insta-reunion will fix everything. Conflicted.
