Honestly, that's my problem with everyone. They're completely different characters, they just have the same names. This applies to Oliver and Felicity first and foremost as they definitely are the focus of the narrative. Tommy actually felt like a caricature of the Arrow character. Which is something to which I am more open at some times than others. For instance, there was a completely silly fic about everybody except for Dig and Lyla who are functioning adults breaking up in order to cover up Oliver's and the Arrow's simultaneous disappearance from SC. Everybody had smidges of their characters, but I found it (mindless) fun. I don't mind AUs although I prefer fics that follow canon at least in part, but I do want the essence of the characters to feel true to them. Which is tricky because both fic writers and readers have their own interpretations and readings of the characters and it's not that easy to match those. It's just a gut instinct in that I feel Dig's a much richer character with more to offer. Not that Barry and Roy were more than casual mentions of simply being there on the scene, and Laurel and Caitlin only slightly more than that.

Speaking of, there's been no sign of this on LoT so far? I'm really not sure on which show that is supposed to happen.

I've just finished this and aside from not really feeling like I've read about Oliver and Felicity, I'm stumped at the decision to include Thea, Roy, Tommy, Laurel, Barry, Caitlin and their kitchen sink, there's a single off hand mention of Dig in the penultimate chapter. How do you not include Dig even if it's AU? This isn't judgement, just stupefication. I mean he was even included in a historical seet in the UK, which I stopped reading because it felt wildly historically inaccurate. But he was there, you know.

CR posted this BTS pic on her Instagram to wish PB a happy birthday. I'm not completely sure, but I think it's an older pic, from the filming of 4x10. I think Donna wore that shirt while Felicity was in the hospital.

Wow. It's hard to believe that guy ever interacted with 3- and 4-year-olds. And yeah, teaching them about immigration can't be that efficient since I imagine it would take about a DECADE.
-
Ha! I think you're the first. I didn't even know he was an option.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess I'd need for the request to come from Dig in that case. And I'm not sure why it would fall on Oliver then. It's not like Andy's whatever Malcolm's supposed to be so that only Oliver can (presumably) take him down.

I checked 4x11. Dig's wearing a dark shirt and pant. No camo and definitely no helmet in those scenes. I guess KC's pic means we'll be seeing Andy again this season then.

Speaking of that fic, I found it weird that there was no mention of Laurel. I don't need her nor look for her in a fic, but if it follows canon, it's weird that there's not even a throwaway line about her lack of presence. Did the team not notice? I will say that I found Curtis cute in the last chapter as well as Dig's and Oliver's reactions to him.

This honestly made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that. I never saw that as breaking character. I suppose because I liked that it gave Ollie an unexpected depth and a chance to reflect beyond instant gratification. I also watched it once, but didn't read it as resentment. Now I'm afraid to rewatch and find out I was wrong.

I would, but I still know the context of that scene. I think that will be the one O/F scene I won't rewatch. Someone commented that she was cuddling him like a son. If the circumstances were different - after a tough mission, a nightmare, him actually telling her he found out he had a kid... - I would have no problem with it and find it cute.@quarks, I'm putting myself down as being interested about Barrowman.

My jaw dropped at Dig telling Oliver to let her go after a few months. Like, what? Would you just Lyla go? Even Felicity? It was so weird. I get wanting to pull Oliver out of the booze and the misery, but letting go is a completely different animal. That said, I read the update yesterday because I didn't really see anything else on AO3 when I had 15 minutes to kill. Oliver doesn't let go of her, he's just functioning as best as he can. I won't lie, but I do wish someone had still been looking for her at that point. Donna just upped and left for Vegas after a few weeks. Again, what?I don't know about the ending. It's shocking and interesting in a way, but it points to amnesia or brain washing. And I was way more afraid of brain washing than the wheelchair while we were waiting for that shoe to drop. I just can't help but feel that Felicity would hate the fact (and probably herself) that her brain was used a) for evil, and b) without her consent. Maybe there's something bigger at play here, but I don't feel comfortable with several points at this junction.

@AyChihuaha, I thought you weren't watching. When did you start again? With Charlotte Ross included as honorary Lance?
-
I don't think there's been any specifics as to what the scene is about. Or I've missed it.

Is anyone going to HVFF in Chicago next weekend?
-
I guess it is, although I'm not sure there were warning signs in ARGUS' cell area.

That guy was really solid and I love the idea of getting an insight into Dig's potential son. Still not sure I'd watch the show, but I'd probably check out Youtube clips here and there. However, there is one pressing matter. Sending him off on the ship mean gramps Oliver would be alone once again. I thought that bit about him not being alone at the end of last episode was cute.

I don't know that either Curtis or Donna would assume Oliver cheated on Felicity since they've seen the way he is around her. Maybe Donna's mind would go there, since he lost his shine in her eyes after the shooting, but I'm not convinced there either. I can't say I thought about it. Maybe that things were going too fast? No idea.
-
I don't mean for someone to come out and say, you guys should totally do this. Just to sort of originate the idea. Like Thea blurting out they have a venue booked, then catching herself and telling them to never mind. That way it gets the ball rolling.
-
I don't mind it that much yet, with the caveat that the idea of the trap cannot come from Oliver. It's either got to be coming from Felicity or as a reluctant suggestion from a third party with Felicity being the first to say yes. I'd prefer the last. Although, to be honest, I still like my idea about Cupid orchestrating this better.
