One of the benefits of having a pet is that you aren't talking to yourself, you're talking to them. Perfectly normal. If they start answering you in a human language, it might be time to worry.
@shapeshifter, that coworker was an ignorant asshole.

I find it useful to sat things out loud like "I locked the door", so I remember I did it and don't have to get up in the middle of the night to check.

She was great in A Little Night Music.

A show where they don't understand each other would be a change from all the ones where I can't understand them. Enunciate, damn you!

Shecky Greene! That's a name I've heard in decades.

The interfaces on the Britbox and Acorn Roku apps are clunky compared to Amazon, and it's nice to have all subscriptions work the same way. But I'm nonetheless very unhappy with Amazon adding more ads--they already stick them at the start of everything of their own.

I currently have 33 posters on ignore. A lot of them no longer post on threads I read but I haven't restored any recently.

Tilting the jar upside down and running hot water around the lid often works for me. Also whacking the edge of the lid in a few places with a knife handle can work.

Climate change. I want snow. I can't remember the last time there was snow on Christmas. It doesn't even have to be snowing on the day, snow on the ground would be enough.

Earlier this month I went to Colmar to visit Christmas markets there and some of the towns around it. I'd hoped to get to Strasbourg but the timing didn't work out. It was mostly delightful and something I'd wanted to do for a long time. Any Christmas markets would've done, really, but Colmar looked adorable, and it is. I'd love to go back some year in spring when the flowers are out. Riquewihr would be a great side trip since it wouldn't be jammed for the market then; it looked like an intersting place to go even without a Christmas market.

This is my first catless Christmas since 2000 and between that and being away for a week earlier this month, I haven't done the usual amount of decorating. When I had multiple cats I put garlands and lights at the top of the walls but didn't get a tree because I knew at least one of them wouldn't be able to resist dangly things. When it was just me and Sasha I did get a tree and she checked it out a bit too thoroughly the first year, after that she'd sniff it and leave it be.

It seems to have caught a lot of people's attention this week; it's the 3rd time I've heard about it in a few days. I don't know how I hadn't heard about it before considering how much British media I consume.

I'm not sure delivery people have ever knocked on the door or rung the doorbell, and I'm fine with that. The email and text updates are enough.

My current peeve is that Disney and a few other streaming services don't show you how much time is left in what you're watching when you pause it.

Well...I went into Instacart and got a pop up saying to click it for the offer but then Peacock wouldn't let me do anything like add premium, just took me to my Peacock account and asked for $$. Maybe I missed something.

Recently I was scrolling through Britbox(?) and saw something that looked really interesting to me and I was just about to open it when I saw the name Steven Moffat and backed out.

I also got bluetooth headphones and paired them to my phone...I think. I don't know, I'll check before my upcoming trip. Because I am unable to read maps, and sometimes confuse left and right, I'm looking for an android app that can give walking directions, by voice, offline. Has anyone tried HereWeGo?

Here's an episode for Unsolved Mysteries: How could Steven Moffat be such a good script writer and such a disaster as showrunner?
My favorite companions have been Donna and Romana I, both of whom addressed the Doctor as equals.

Donna is my favorite companion, and I have mixed emotions about the new episode. On the one hand, I was gutted and then bitter for ages because the original ending was that emotionally powerful. So leave it alone, it was, as @Mabinogia said, beautifully heartbreaking. On the other hand, Donna really deserved so much better than that and, yeah, her ending was especially infuriating when compared to Rose's. So yes, please fix that.
Still got a kick in the heart when they mentioned Wilf.

It's not your IP, because I didn't change mine when I tried all 3 browsers and I use a VPN for almost every site I visit. What if you go directly to Hulu.com without going through the link posted above? Maybe you already tried that. I started watching A Murder at the End of the World--there are 2 episodes yet to come, and continued watching Pointless and Richard Osman's House of Games. There's more in the line-up depending on how sober am I after dinner, which is currently in the oven. And cross stitching, lots of cross stitching. If I had a cat or dog it would be a perfect Thanksgiving.

Firefox was the only browser that worked for me. The Hulu deal page wouldn't load for me in either Chrome or Edge.
Jeopardy! Season 40 (2023-2024)
in Jeopardy!
I meant to come back after the writers' strike questions were done but keep forgetting to check YT for J! in the evenings. By morning it's too late. I did catch one episode of the second chance tournament. It all feels sort of underwhelming now.
