  1. This made me laugh out loud and is much more festive than my theory. I think I've said it before, but knowing that Holly tried out for SYTYCD and didn't make it, she might have decided college was her best route for now. Being a DCC ensures she stays active in the dance comment and keeps up her technical training and figure. Sure, she might have an injury, but better than sitting out and then trying SYTYCD or other avenues once she's matured a bit. And her trying out for SYTYCD shows that she doesn't mind being on camera if she can pursue her dream too, or she might have big aspirations of dancing AND being on screen. DCC gets her that, but in a smaller scale. I feel like I read somewhere that Jacie had tried out for the Rockettes before she was a DCC too? I could definitely be wrong. A skilled technical dancer could easily modify the DCC kick to the Rockette's since it's more precise but not as high. Maybe being on the DCC is a joke, but I can't imagine in many circles they're mocked, especially if they've got the chops to back it up and they went to college or had other reasons for not going straight to dance. Being a DCC is a paid job (even rehearsal time) and that practice is essentially free classes and memory building. Especially when they have a guest choreo.
  2. I feel like Christina's hair is really working for her... so many of us didn't care for what we had seen last time but are all "her new hair tho!" ???
  3. I agree with you completely. Maybe it's more than Kashara has more sex appeal too? Your average joe might be more likely to pick the cute, voluptuous blonde over the sultry, slim brunette. But if I'm going by that definition, Jenna and Jenn K don't fit that bill, yet are still excellent point girls bc of their pop. I can see them asking her to come back, though. She's been show group for most of her tenure, she's a woman of color, she's still young, and she's one of their better dancers. She's a special girl, no matter her extra. After this summer, she might not be worth the extra hassle, but I can see why she was this past spring before auditions.
  4. Are they actually running that behind announcing this year's team compared to other seasons? The first home game for the Cowboys isn't until the 19th...almost two weeks away. They've waited until this point before, sometimes even week of IIRC. Add in the HOF festivities and this week seems about right. I just looked at Wiki and seasons 3-6 aired in OCTOBER...can you imagine? Even last year was the end of August. We were getting all antsy just waiting until August 3.
  5. I think Lacey and Jinelle are lovely and excellent cheerleaders, putting that out there first. I think Kashara wins out because she's one of the women that gets used more often in promo videos, glamour girl (tho the cute and bubbly side of glamour for sure) and she's a bit more relatable. Jinelle and Lacey are both on the slimmer side, Kashara tends to be more voluptuous. I don't know if I ever saw Kashara at point, tho I love it, but I don't ever see Lacey or Jinelle being there. Who knows, tho?? They're all strong performers. I know Jenna is extra, but she has a ton of pop and is a great point as well when there's no dramaaaaaaazzzzz.
  6. IMO, Frisco is the worst place to get to in the Metroplex when it comes to traffic, so woooo I feel for those working girls this training camp! And so far from the stadium! Would be incredibly tough for a TCU student as well. Hell, an SMU student. Northbound after 3:30 is no joke. Considering studio apartments are going for $1500++ at the Shops, curious where people will end up living too. Valley Ranch had the advantage of lots of corporate apartments and cheaper rent, plus their boom days are well past in favor of Frisco and Plano. Where there's a will there's a way! I watched season seven this weekend and so many of the TCC were budget conscious that year, so it's fresh on my mind.
  7. I don't think you'd fail it. Like with any job interview, you'd probably spend some time cramming some basic knowledge about the DCC, the Cowboys organization and basic US politics. You could probably cover the basics with several hours with Wikipedia and Google :) I think both Angela and Jinelle referenced studying American football before their interviews. Just don't say you think the VP is O'Biden and that you don't really read. Lol.
  8. ??? Can't win. Generally speaking, I think we tend to be polite (yet honest) to anyone who has had a child/family friend/etc. featured on the show, as well as the rare DCC appearance. And of course like anything online, behave less like dicks than normal when it's not as anonymous anymore. Manners aren't necessary on a forum, but it doesn't hurt. I'm glad we have someone involved with the organization willing to answer quite a few of our questions (some of them nosy as hell), as reliable insider info doesn't come around terribly often, and it's kind of neat that she also got featured in the season since her daughter auditioned. I'd be just as excited if @LaurenBrook or @LadyMsJay or several others of y'all were shown. Way back in the days of MBTV we would occasionally get a producer or writer that joined, and I thought it was cool that they would take time to do it. This feels right along those lines to me.
  9. IMO, wearing blackface is a bigger offense than club hopping at 20, and Whitney didn't get kicked off the team. Whitney was probably the equivalent of Jenna back in her day...joined very young and became point, marquee calendar girl, etc. Holly is one of the best dancers, but doesn't have that favored side from what I can tell. That said, it seems like Whitney's misstep came from a place of ignorance and naivety, whereas Holly and/or Jenna are not first time offenders if the rumors are true. Not sure what my point is, exactly, because I'll be the first to say that I don't expect everyone to be treated the same and "fairly". It's not that kind of job.
  10. Season Pass is now available on iTunes - $19.99. Yay!
  11. I hear what you're saying, but they've taken plenty of soft girls to finals, and even into camp. Elizabeth Reuters and Grace Lee Sells are top of mind, but there are several others. That said, I don't think she's DCC ready yet but I'm glad she tried out. I think getting the experience was very valuable. The other interesting dynamic is that Kelly mentioned Dayton is friends with her daughter, so even if Dayton didn't have her best day, they likely know what she's capable of doing. We've seen many times where a gal gets passed to a later round based on reputation or how they're known in the dance community. I think that's why they do the judges tally and then meet again with just K, C and J. Nepotism and such doesn't bother me in this environment as much as it would others. A dance community isn't that big to start with, so you're going to have people tripping all over each other anyway. And we know that Dayton didn't make Camp, which would probably be the biggest objection in the end. They don't take a finite number on each round, so I don't think she took someone else's spot.
  12. Not sure why ballroom's makeup was so bad for auditions - I think that's what killed her, unless they had info about behavioral issues that weren't mentioned on camera. She was pretty enough in her photos they showed during the review (cheerleader pic and a headshot next to it,) three years experience as an NFL cheerleader and a shit ton of experience and technical ability from ballroom. If she was focused on Latin, that takes a lot of power so easy enough to translate. So seriously, I don't get why they didn't put her into semis. I didn't think she had the look when she showed up, but she has potential and heaven knows they've taken bigger train wrecks before. From what we were shown, no reason round two wasn't happening for her. And now I'm curious what the unknown might be. Did anyone catch her name? Might be worth a google.
  13. There's no new development. Holly and Jenna did not go to Canton for the HOF ceremonies with the rest of the veterans. Holly has been super quiet on social media. Jenna sent a nice message to the girls and did some DCC related stuff back in Frisco. Rumors are running rampant. Nothing is confirmed.
  14. I wa surprised that ballroom dance girl didn't make it to the next round - she clearly has the dance background and I was curious to see her in DCC choreography. I thought her look was very harsh, but to Kelly's point, she looked fine in her photos. And they let the daughter from the mom/daughter through sooooo... i think Dayton is super cute and I'm glad she's getting extra story with Shelly. She is a bit on the thicker side and maybe a bit off technique wise, but curious how she'll do with DCC style. She seems like a young 19, so I can see her rocking this in a year or two. I loved Brennan's costume, such a pretty top! And the girl from Nashville too. Great seeing something just a bit different. OKC girl really is smoking hot. I'm curious what her job will be if she makes DCC, since she doesn't have an interest in college and doesn't seem to have the technique to teach dance. I guess I appreciate her honesty! I thought she was going to tell us she moved to LA or NYC to dance professionally when she said she wasn't going to school, but there she is still in Oklahoma with poms on a basketball court. I found myself liking Charlotte's outfit much better on camera than on pics we saw back in May...not sure why exactly. Could be the vodka talking.
  15. Big things, for sure. But we have more time to comb through all of the Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat accounts than Shannon the social media guy and whatever random intern he has working for him at any given time. Especially during camp, I wouldn't be surprised if we find things faster than they do. It's just a matter of resources and priority. I could be totally wrong, but making assumptions based off the social media teams we've had at the major retailers I've worked at...it's surprising how little resources are used to be proactive vs. reactive.
  16. I would think she'd be up for trying it again - it's a great show, more tv time, and has led to paid dance jobs for quite a few of the contestants. Seems like her wheelhouse, honestly. She probably just needed to mature and gain some polish from when she had tried out before. I thought she was adorable when she tried out for DCC, but her look has grown up a lot. That's all about revenue. I don't like some of the shady players the Cowboys bring, but they have a very unique skill set to offer. Wins means more dollars for Jerry. A RB isn't interchangeable the way a dancer is, you know? Either way, this whole thing has escalated VERY quickly based on two gals not being shown in a picture.
  17. Holly's own Instagram still features her DCC pic and DCC in her title. Let's not get all crazy about a fire when we barely have any smoke. If SYTYCD was auditioning I would believe it more. Holly has a show to do! (I need a .gif for this, where is Moni when you need her??)
  18. Cute little segment from the Today Show - one of Hoda and Kathy's contributors (Donnadorable ?) spends some time with the DCC including all star Jenn K. She also speaks to two final audition candidates, including Christina. Christina is heavily featured and her kicks do seem to have improved. Assuming I don't need spoiler tags since it's MSM but let me know if I'm wrong! http://www.today.com/video/visit-dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-camp-with-klg-and-hoda-s-donnadorable-1015589443991
  19. I was pondering this as well, but not in a nefarious way. Why wouldn't the organization take advantage of their resources - I.E., a group of super fans that are going to call out happenings on social media (be it poor judgement posts, milestone events or weird stalker "fan" behavior) or what we see at the local clubs or appearances. Saves them leg work to both protect the organization and the safety of the girls. We aren't malicious in nature like The Dirty back in the day, but we do chitter chat about things good and bad. I like that Shelly B keeps up with our talk, and don't doubt if something important or relevant comes to light via our sleuthing that it'll make its way up as needed. That said, they probably appreciate our interest and revenue (I've bought all seasons available) but we are a nifty yet small part of the DCC universe.
  20. I don't think the average fan would realize or care, honestly. I didn't noticed they were missing until someone else pointed it out and then figured there was an injury or some sort of scheduling conflict. Local appearances are probably covered by girls not attending, but maybe they needed someone more senior to hold down the fort locally. Or maybe they're in trouble for fraternizing. Whatever it is, I don't expect the girls to be treated equally. It's not a normal job. And it's probably not nearly as interesting and juicy a reason as we like to speculate :)
  21. I can see that too. I think it's hard for a lot of these women who were the rock stars in their respective studios and/or dance teams, and then they just can't get it. There have been amazing technical dancers that get the boot every year. I don't know that Christina was that amazing dancer, but she clearly has a lot of pride in the talent she has and the classes she taught, so that has to be super frustrating. I'm not too set in my ways for a redemption story ? And her short hair IS super cute.
  22. I can share why I dislike her - she came off as whining and full of excuses about her hamstring and why her kicks were so low. She said she didn't have pain in her splits, so Kelly didn't understand why she wasn't getting her legs up. And she was all but but but but about it. She also came across (to me) as bragging about her extensive dance background, yet didn't seem to get the DCC style or have that extra pop about her. She just rubbed me the wrong way from start to finish. She seemed like someone who talks more about how hard they work instead of putting their head down and actually doing the work like Mackenzie Lee or some others we've seen over the years. I just didn't care for her attitude. I do like that she seemed to have stepped back the last couple of years to work on what she needed to work on, and she's clearly come back with more success. Since she's still in camp, she's likely vastly improved her attitude and kicks, and I hope to see that when the season airs.
  23. So what I'm seeing is that Christina is gonna make this team? Oh gosh...I sure hope her redemption edit (redemption of All. That. Whining.) is strong! I was never a big Auto Amy fan and cried when she got cut, so there's room in my heart somewhere I guess. And her new hair IS cute.
  24. Awww, this made me think of Kaitlyn Legrande. I had seasons five and six on yesterday for background, and she was so cute rookie year. I had thought she was on show group as a rookie, but later in the season she was getting hammered for performance? Maybe I got that wrong. Either way, it's always interesting to me when they're show group rookie year and then don't make it back for a second year. Hannah is the only other I can think of, if I'm remembering correctly about KL. A lot can change in a year for sure!
  25. IIRC, when they started selling season tickets to the new stadium, it started at a $15k buy in PLUS the cost of the tickets. It's one of the reasons tickets are relatively easy to snag, especially for the away team. Many lifelong fans were priced out of the new stadium. That's been several years ago now so not sure how it's changed. It's a beautiful stadium, but one of my least favorite places to attend a game because the crowd doesn't get rowdy enough for me :) Plus it's damned near impossible to take your eyes off the big screen! The touchdown decks were fun when the gals used to dance on them, but that doesn't happen anymore.
