  1. Likely why they’re champion speed skaters 😄 That and the canals!
  2. I still laugh at Rebecca’s concern about a “giant Dutch woman” - Hannah W has to be six feet tall at least! 😄 That’s a giant from my five-foot-nothing perspective. I don’t generally mind my lack of height, but there are times when I wish I were a couple inches taller, like when I’m trying to get something off a shelf and I need to employ either a stepstool or a pair of kitchen tongs to attain my objective 😄
  3. @paramitch, you know I always love your considered and thought-provoking posts! 👏🏼
  4. Honestly, Ted’s triangles vision reminded me of the scene in Ratatouille when Remy tried to help his brother visualize taste - and I loved it. Ratatouille is tied with Wall-E as my favourite Pixar movie.
  5. (Trying this again bc I’ve already posted this twice, but it hasn’t shown up in the thread - weird 🤔) Okay but, to be fair, we’re not privy to what goes on in the writers’ room. According to IMDb, there were two female writers on this episode (one of whom also plays Bex); they must have had some input into the storylines 🤷🏽‍♀️
  6. okay I’ll watch it again I guess 😉
  7. Hmm, seems to have worked for me. Did you do “copy link” from the tweet?
  8. Nope! I thought he might bust out a little “This is the way” when they were at the living waters, but that would have been a little too cute.
  9. I laughed at the little toaster robot when it activated its emergency lights, and then scurried off and came back with reinforcements 😄
  10. There used to be a ferry from Toronto to Rochester, but that didn’t last very long. I went there with my fam a few years ago and we visited the toy museum - what a great place!
  11. (I can’t clear my editor 😫) How cute was Dani with his one tulip? I hope he got his wish. There’s a bit of history between Ottawa (capital of 🇨🇦) and the Netherlands as far as tulips go. During WW2, some members of the Dutch royal family took refuge in Canada, and the Dutch queen gave birth to her daughter in an Ottawa hospital (which was temporarily designated Dutch soil so she wouldn’t have Canadian citizenship). Canadian soldiers also played a large role in liberating the Netherlands from the German occupation. After the war, the Dutch government in their gratitude sent thousands of tulip bulbs to Ottawa, and IIRC they continue to do so every year. The city has an annual tulip festival in May, which started with the original Dutch tulip bulbs, and it’s a sign that spring has finally arrived 🌷🌷🌷 Edit: oops, I was wrong about the hospital being declared Dutch soil. Here’s a Wiki paragraph that explains it: “It is a common misconception that the Canadian government declared the maternity ward to be Dutch territory. That was not necessary, as Canada follows ‘jus soli’, while the Netherlands follows ‘jus sanguinis’. It was sufficient for Canada to disclaim the territory temporarily.” Meaning that “jus soli” citizenship comes from where you’re born, and “jus sanguinis” comes from your parents’ citizenship.
  12. Yes, that’s what I’m thinking too. This is why I’m hoping that Hot Dutch Guy (HDG) will discover who Rebecca is and go to London to find her. Alternatively, she could go back to Amsterdam to see him again. I will accept either scenario.
  13. That Dutch boat man? Smoking hot 🥵 I loved this ep. The last two eps have just felt to me like they were running in place, not getting anywhere, but breakthroughs were definitely made here. I floved Ted’s triangles epiphany and Jamie and Roy chasing windmills. And will someone please tell me who was the guy with the ballcap on the wall in the American restaurant? I feel like he’s a musician - Chance the Rapper maybe? I’m not current on what the kids are listening to these days 😄
  14. I was annoyed with my husband this morning because I wanted to share this trivia with him, but he couldn’t even remember who Hux was in the movies 😡😄 This is why I love this forum - I know that there’s always people here who appreciate arcane bits of trivia like this!
  15. Well, we didn’t hear his side of the conversation, but Rebecca’s responses and facial expressions seemed to indicate that her test results (bloodwork, imaging) were not conducive to pregnancy.
  16. From what I understand, when someone is served papers, it’s not up to the party doing the serving where the service actually happens. That is completely up to the process servers themselves. As far as Bill Lawrence, IMDb does list him as being an executive producer on this season.
  17. Closed captioning is your friend!
  18. Did anybody notice the dedication at the end of the episode? It was to Grant Wahl, the sportswriter who died at the World Cup in December. At one point in the ep, Coach Beard had a book tucked under his arm, and it was Wahl’s The Beckham Experiment.
  19. She looks gaunt. I don’t know her from anything other than this show, but from pictures of her that I’ve seen online, she wasn’t always so thin.
  20. No, Jake is Dr. Jacob, their former marriage therapist. Which is why it’s unethical for him to be dating Ted’s ex-wife.
  21. I don’t remember the last time I saw an actual matchbook. I have a box of matches in my kitchen for emergency purposes, but I almost always use a barbecue lighter for candles.
  22. I didn’t even notice that when I watched, so I had to go back and look for it 😄
  23. Rebecca in that red dress? 🥵
  24. My dear late grandma, who was born in rural Ontario 🇨🇦 around the turn of the 20th century, said the same thing 😄
