  1. One of my favorite covers; "Purple Haze" in a Devo-esque mode, with vocals that sound like Kingfish from Amos & Andy, as preformed live by Frank Zappa's band: Talk about taking a song and making it your own.
  2. Tigtone makes me happy. I used to spend fair amount of playing fantasy adventure games, and the show satirizes the cliches perfectly. And his dialog is brilliantly stupid. "Now give me another quest bartender. Or better yet, another quest!"
  3. And he actually did some real good in this case. Mostly free, sort of.
  4. Yet another variation on pirates trying to take down the Leaf ship with cunning tricks. It's amazing how many of the coastal and island villages turn out to be pirate villages.
  5. The Diamond Kingdom attacks the Clover Kingdom with an army and three generals, and Yuno's Golden Whatever squad shows up to defend the town. Yami volunteers to go help, and naturally Asta insists on tagging along, even with his two broken arms. I keep wondering about Charmy's massive food intake. Gigantic undiagnosed tapeworm? Super-fast metabolism that will have her dead of old age by the time she's 25? Magical stomach? Or do her sheep chefs (sheefs?) just make zero-calorie food?
  6. The show suddenly gets more serious. Evil esper group is abducting kids to make them new members! Mob vs. his brother! Himalayan salt crystals!
  7. Ugh. My DVR cut off the end of the episode right at the point where Koichi turns around. For a few minutes I thought that maybe the street was going to turn out to be a stand or a stand user. Kind of an anime version of Danny the Street. Loved the ghost story. It's a perfect take on the scary stories that kids tell each other, complete with the fact that if they were true no one alive would know the story to tell it.
  8. Too bad Vegeta destroyed the time chamber again. They could have used it to give Buu his two-month nap in 5 minutes. Best line of the episode: "This universe is enormous, and yet all of the decent fighters seem to be on or from this teeny booger of a planet!"
  9. "Area man killed by the Charmin Bears - Witnesses say that he did not 'enjoy the go.'"
  10. They finally did a marathon that I liked yesterday: Off the Air.
  11. Yes! Along with "Would you like to come back to my place bouncy-bouncy?" and "Drop your panties, Sir William, I cannot wait until lunchtime." Have we mentioned Sam Peckinpah's Salad Days yet? A swell gathering on the lawn gone horribly wrong. I'm still amazed that they were able to keep that segment in the episode with all that gore. Fountains of blood.
  12. And then of course there was the Funeral Parlor Sketch: My eight year old self nearly expired from excessive mirth the first time I saw that.
  13. Yeah, Boruto needs its own thread.
  14. "Grizzly end" could also refer to a bear's butt.
  15. After some thought, I've decided that he must have gotten both rats with one shot, so they both got the same energy (or whatever). The second one, but only if he does the hands-to-the-face pose.
  16. The second one. The rules of anime require that everyone avoid communicating clearly in order to enhance dramatic potential. 1) I think it's the same, and 2) not a guy. Naruto has always been played by women.
  17. I remember that Speed Racer remix. I also heard one which some fan cobbled together from various episodes of Teen Titans, with all the yelling and groaning and gasping that went on in that show. "Boo-yah!" indeed.
  18. Trying to figure out why Mob was in that art gallery in the first place. Did I miss something? The con that the couple was running seems to be a non-sexual variation on the "badger game" con ("You ruined my sister/wife/girlfriend, now pay up or else!")
  19. Megalobox: How many boxing-related stories have there been now where a boxer is in trouble because he refuses to throw any more fights? Daredevil, Pulp Fiction, Snatch, The Set Up, C.S.I., etc. A million? The exoskeletons on the boxers appear to add nothing to the story so far. It would go exactly the same if they were just regular un-enhanced boxers. One would hope that it becomes important at some point. That'd work pretty well as a stand name on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
  20. If it wasn't for him, who'd eat all the excess food? It's an important ecological niche. Preparing, preparing, preparing for the big tournament. And then preparing some more.
  21. Wait, the guy shot two rats with the bow and they both got exactly the same stand? WTF? Why would it work that way for rats when it doesn't do that for people?
  22. That's always the problem when a bunch of characters split up so that the show has to keep jumping around to cover what they're all up to. Some more chimera ant character growth in this episode.
  23. Naruto's clones rebel. Too bad it was just a dream.
  24. Yeah, same here. Kind of annoying that they didn't show it.
  25. Midoriya and friends manage to subdue Stain, impressing everyone who shows up to help after the fight's over. The more I see Captain Facepalm, the more I'm convinced that he's visited Hinamizawa. That would explain both the constant neck-scratching and his epic levels of crazy. Now he just needs to start bellowing "LIAR!" at people. Or maybe he's been smoking rock with the crackhead character from Chappelle's Show.
