  1. I watch her cooking show. She has had many former costars on, including Jason Priestly, and had wondered why none of the 90210 women were on there. I know it could be an act but she seems like a genuinely kind, decent human being and always shares good memories of the people she's met so I'm going have to be team Tiffani. Whatever it was, it's been over a decade and maybe almost two, let it go and grow up.
  2. Other things that make driving/riding in an open convertible the worst: Constantly having to adjust the volume on the radio/sound system. No protection from sun. Even when the temperature is OK, you still get hot from the direct sun. Also, sunburn potential increases exponentially. Hats are obviously problematic. Temperature in many or maybe most climates is rarely perfect for an open convertible. You have to constantly adjust the air along with the radio and it has to be blasting to be effective . People who portray bundling up and driving around in a convertible with the top down in freezing cold temperatures or snow as magical or romantic are wrong. Maybe for a couple of minutes but then things get real. At some speeds it is next to impossible to have an actual conversation without screaming Exhaust fumes. For some of us chickens who live in the mountains, it is extra terrifying to be on a steep, twisty, very small shouldered mountain road in a car with no protection above you. If you plunge off a mountain, a car roof is probably not going to help you but you feel it much more acutely in a convertible.
  3. Agreed! "Sweet Fancy Moses" is my new favorite thing. I obviously did not watch Sienfeld.
  4. Agreed! "Sweet Fancy Moses" is my new favorite thing.
  5. Well said. I was thinking the same things but couldn't have summed it up as nicely as you did.
  6. My sister had multiple sessions both inpatient and outpatient as pretty much a last resort. In addition to general anesthesia, they administered muscle relaxers so she wouldn't feel like she had whiplash. While there was some minor memory loss, she credits it with saving her life. It isn't as barbaric as it used to be, thank goodness.
  7. I love this so much. Thanks! Several years ago, TNT showed ER to the point I was tired of it. But the last couple of years I've been pining for it but not quite ready to pull the trigger on buying the DVDs. Now it's filling up my DVR. I can't watch Love's Labor Lost. I know it's an excellent episode but I just can't watch it again. I hated Jen. I hated Chloe so much any time Kathleen Wilhoite shows up on a show I immediately hate her. Yep, even on Gilmore Girls. We're already past Shep in the daily episodes and that makes me sad. Watching these episodes is a fun exercise in "hey it's so and so". Right now Jenny O'Hara is playing a gloriously bad float nurse. My love of this is enhanced by POP's recent airing of Beverly Hills 90210's "The Next 50 Years". I didn't always love the story lines but I do have an undying love for Carter.
  8. An American popping in to say I hate s'mores. My mom used to make something she called Mary Janes with saltine crackers, peanut butter, and marshmallows toasted in the oven. They are delicious. Nice to see Henry actually have a story.
  9. One of my previous coworkers (still at the same company but in different departments and buildings now), is a Sandy Hook denier. Up until then, I thought he was a great guy and would have never guessed what scum he actually is.
  10. I've used several letter openers like that, they work well as long as the blade is sharp.
  11. I thought the pre Thanksgiving meal blessing from Joe was short. But I grew up Southern Baptist when every blessing was an opportunity to convert someone or convince someone to confess their great sin and renew their faith. You couldn't just be thankful for the food. I would have been so thankful for either Steve's or Joe's version.
  12. " Venice! (I haven't been there, so I can't tell if it's the real thing or just a convincing simulacrum somewhere in Canada. ...Halifax???)" It is real Venice. A lot of it looked like the Dorsoduro district.
  13. You know you are old when you come to the comments after listening to the podcast two weeks in a row and realize you are the only one who seems to have had the "holy cow that's the lady that shot JR" reaction to Claudia. That's Mary Crosby, daughter of Bing, who played the sister-in-law behind the major pop culture phenomenon "Who shot JR?". I didn't even watch "Dallas" ( a little too young at the time, mom would have never allowed it anyway) and still knew who she is. I feel ancient. I agree, Valerie/TAT looks so pretty in that last picture. At 19, I probably would have thought that professor was hot too @MCMLXXVII.
  14. Mine too. And although I don't typically wear them, I was loving that gown she was wearing.
  15. Agree. I cringed when I realized they were headed in that direction. On a personal note, my sister credits ECT with saving her life. She had been in the hospital multiple times for several weeks (don't get me started on how someone who attempted suicide isn't in a regular hospital room with GLASS vases of flowers like the dimwits on TV always show). It was still up to her and the only reason it was discussed with me is because she wanted to hear my opinion. The doctors would have never let me talk her into it though.
  16. Watching that episode on Pop right now. I find myself wanting to punch Donna.
  17. I think Toni, Susan, Clare (with better make up), and (obviously) Val are prettier than Kelly. This isn't to say Kelly isn't pretty but none of these women should feel insecure next to her. Plus, they all have better personalities to make them more attractive.
  18. I had the satin shirt in a paler pink color and an icy blue color.
  19. I remember TAT just a little bit from Saved by the Bell. I'm out of the demographic so I didn't watch it past a couple of minutes here and there while flipping through channels. I remember thinking of her as cute. I missed her run on BH90210 and have only seen her recently on White Collar and her cooking show. She's still lovely; but, she's gorgeous and downright sexy in these episodes. By the way, if you like cooking shows, she actually has legit cooking skills. And she always has guests, mostly previous costars including Jason Priestly, on there. Dinner at Tiffany's.
  20. God, I miss them so much. Are they ever coming back?
  21. Thanks for the information about Peter Thomas. I'm not much into true crime shows; but, I find Forensic Files weirdly soothing which I greatly attribute to Mr. Thomas. We always get a little tickled in our house when he conveys so much drama in the theory of the crime. LaCroix is gross. I'm always drinking club soda, seltzer water, Perrier, or San Pelligrino. One of my coworkers excitedly brought me a can of the mango. It had a wretched chemical flavor. Just get non flavored and add a piece of fruit.
  22. Agreed! It was fabulous and "Commander in Cheeto" made me snort.
  23. I'm really late in coming back to say thank you to everyone for helping fill us in on the whole Sorkin/forum thing. I had heard it referenced on other podcasts and in comments in other places. I'm pretty sure it was actually Kevin T. Porter on his Gilmore Girls podcast. The West Wing isn't quite as bad as some of his other shows which I think the actresses, particularly Allison Janney, deserve credit for pushing their characters more out of the look-at-me-I'm-a-girl-and-great-at-my-job-but-absolutely-everything-else-in-my-life-I'm-a-disaster-at box he likes to use to box in female characters. I think The Newsroom is actually the worst. The ego it takes to get so upset to fight with people in the forums is mind boggling.
