  1. I have no recollection of Night Man. My sister and I just ponied up the $4 to watch the first two episodes. Those of you who did not bother with the second episode missed the most amazing David Hasselhoff cameo ever. It's all rubbish of course. I've never watched Supernatural and doubt I ever will. But thanks for the canon submission. I did watch that episode and enjoyed it immensely. I think they nailed the tone of the different tv shows very well. Anything that makes fun of CSI: Miami and David Caruso in particular is a win in my book.
  2. Interesting, I would have never thought Connecticut would have such a strong gun culture, particularly after Sandy Hook. The selling point being the proximity to other places is kind of hilarious. And sad.
  3. For my bachelor's degree, I went to a small, liberal arts school. We went in alphabetical order. My grad school is larger but still small by comparison (5000 undergrads, 3000 grads*). We went in alphabetical order by program. Hooding ceremonies were done on a different day. After all the grad students were done, they took a break in the ceremonies at which time we left. Then they went through the undergrads in alphabetical order. It's a long day. Every time I think Kelly couldn't be any bigger a bitch, she proves me wrong. I'm on the fence about whether or not Cindy would be OK with Brandon kicking Val out. I just don't believe she would. I kind of wish Val had asked Brandon if she was only out of the house until the next time Brandon and Kelly broke up. *That's 5000 undergrads and 3000 grads total population, not graduating.
  4. "22 year olds aren't supposed to miscarry." My God, Kelly. How stupid can you be?
  5. How has Kelly been sexually active this long and never considered getting on an additional form of birth control? I would have expected her to be on birth control pills. I get that they use condoms but that really should be in addition to not in place of birth control. I know some people can't, don't like them, whatever, blah blah blah. But for this character, it makes no sense. It also annoys me that Kelly said when Donna gets pregnant she'll be married and will want to be pregnant. Married people have unplanned and unwanted pregnancies too.
  6. Oh man, I forgot about "Whatever, Martha!" I loved it. I miss Fine Living. I miss "The Shopping Bags" .
  7. I, too, find Lianne perplexing. Her supposed motivation to protect Veronica and her actions do not match. I understand Veronica being a teenager and having been through so much trauma, including her mother leaving, grabbing what little hope that her mother wasn't the worst when she found those pictures. That was never completely explained and she never came off as anything but vapid and selfish. Poor Veronica, getting punched in the gut by her Mom every time she needs her. She comes back in a dream on graduation day. Other than that, I think that is the last we see of her. She is a main character in one of the Veronica Mars books. I must be overly optimistic. I always assumed Keith knew Veronica would sign those papers without hesitation. He knew she would choose him over being a Kane. I think in that manner, he considered the test inconsequential. I thought it was just a fun little misdirection before celebrating it officially didn't matter.
  8. Good question! I had wondered the same thing and then forgot about it. I haven't forgotten Exxon's reckless, criminal actions though!
  9. I thought Kelly said "not" instead of "out" on the message, too. On the one hand, I hate Kelly so much now, I don't want her to "win" anything. On the other hand, if Kelly and Brandon are together, it saves others from being stuck with them.
  10. The scene with Aaron and Veronica in the car always put me on edge. The first time I saw it, I had no clue what was to come but he made me uneasy. I couldn't quite place why as it felt sort of like he was going to hit on her but there was something even more sinister underneath. Yet, on the surface he was totally charming and fun. I think Harry Hamlin conveyed that psychopathic charm very well. Perhaps it's my age or maybe my deeply conservative upbringing coming into play but if there had been a video of me like Carmen's, yeah it would have been terrible and caused a great deal of grief. Trying to put this into the perspective of time and the character, maybe it wouldn't be as bad but I think it would be worth the effort to try to stop him.
  11. It's not the craziest inference to draw, certainly. Since I don't wish to disappoint, here's Lucille Bunting, age 10 mos., "supervising" the drying of my hair with great concern. She does look quite concerned. She is adorable.
  12. Ha! Once again, I come to the visual aids and see a kitten at the top of the page. Once again, I think Sarah has put a picture of kittens in the visual aids for fun. Then I scroll down the page and see only kittens and remember that I have my Make America Kittens Again extension that turns all the pictures on a page that refers to Trump into pictures of kittens. :) I'll be leaping over to Internet Explorer now. But thanks, sort of, for the kittens.
  13. I'm sorry to hear about your friend Susan.
  14. Plus 100 points for the "in bed" shout out.
  15. I became irrationally infuriated with Donna in this episode. Did it not occur to her that maybe being at a facility with professionals would allow her dad to maintain some dignity? Allow everyone to learn to adapt without having to direct his medical care? Is she going to schedule the physical therapist? Occupational therapist? Respiratory specialist? Speech therapist? Having a stoke, particularly if left partially paralyzed, can mean trouble eating because of numbness in the mouth or difficulty with swallowing. It can create respiratory issues. It's not just needing someone to peel your orange. I raged at my family about this because I was so angry about it. I know she's supposed to be a saint but these moments she has where we are supposed to think she's so wonderful are often her being very selfish.
  16. Dave, I'm sorry for your loss.
  17. I probably would not have watched Mom past two or three episodes if it weren't for Allison Janney. I like some of the things they did with the daughter in that she actually gave her baby up for adoption and didn't just go on like nothing had happened. After that, I'm glad they cut the kids out with a rare appearance now. It's just so much better without them. Also, one of the regulars is Jaime Pressly who I have really grown to love on this show.
  18. Yes. He was also on Y&R. And Guiding Light!
  19. The MSCL episode reminds me of the 7th Heaven episode "The Magic of Gershwin". We're supposed to believe high school students willingly go to after school detention to hear Gershwin music and talk about their feelings and music and society. The fact it features the horrible Ruthie crying (in theory, Mackenzie Rosman can't pull off crying) over the deplorable Martin doesn't help.
  20. DCC Making the Team is my secret shame too. Also love a breton tee and own a few although I didn't know what they were called. Good job making it work without Dave. Hope everyone is OK.
  21. I don't care what Val's mom said. Maybe she didn't "know" and maybe through willful ignorance and chosen denial she convinced herself there was nothing happening. But, come on, how does the father explain where he is going? And even if a kid doesn't say anything and she assumes he's going to the den to watch TV/kitchen for a snack or whatever reason for his absence from their bed, there are all kinds of nonverbal clues. I just don't believe that can happen for years and there never be any kind of signs to make her wonder what is happening in her house. At some point, she had to make a choice not to ask. I guess they decided that was a step more than they wanted to go and just wanted to wrap this story up. Otherwise, I'm impressed they went for it and didn't do a bunch of euphemism BS & veiled references and just called it what it was - rape and incest.
  22. Jeff Goldblum episodes of CI are my favorite episodes. It's the first time I liked him an anything.
