Thanks! I was worried they might cut the new season.

I agree with your point, but then they run the risk of turning her into Abigail 2.0 I absolutely think it worked in the books, but I'm just not sure where she would have fit in in this particular story Fuller tells. JMO. I would love the opportunity to see him try though :)

After re-watching I also think Will initiated the fall. They both tried living without each other- Hannibal tried to say "goodbye" when he stabbed Will in his kitchen. Will tried to say "goodbye" when he married and moved away. But neither was going to work. And they both knew it. Thematically this is maybe the only end you could have since we tried the other two. I'm still unsure about the post credit scene. I'm just not sure what it sets up if the series is picked up. With the way this story was told, there is no way Clarice could have the same effect Will had on Hannibal- so it's not really a story worth telling. At best she would rank somewhere ahead or behind Bedelia- and that's just not compelling. Still calling BS that Chilton is still somehow ALIVE- come on, really? That is so over the top that it actually took me out of the moment.

Holy moly!! I was absolutely riveted. But when Hannibal opened the car door I could't help yelling "Roadtrip!!!" Still digesting- just wow!

HA! "I would have had you up there already." Whatever..she could take you.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
penguinnj replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Loving Daniel Keller- at least Anna is getting advice from some one outside of the bubble. But this will make it harder for her to say she had no support in leaving dough boy when this happens again- AND it will. http://www.eonline.com/news/689279/anna-duggar-s-brother-daniel-keller-bashes-josh-duggar-i-won-t-stop-trying-to-get-that-pig-out-of-our-family -
Not sure if this is the right thread- so sorry mods :) Does anyone know approximately how much of the show BBC America cuts for commercials? I had watched on DVD and download, but for the first time I am caught up, so I'll be watching season 9 in real time. My DVR recorded an episode the other day and I sat down to watch, but I definitely noticed scenes were missing. Will they be doing that with the new season too?

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
penguinnj replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I tend to think the motives are more driven by ego. Literally- I CAN NOT have been wrong about every choice I have made in my life. It would mean admitting that you are a a complete idiot- a sheep- an automaton. No one wants to think that of themselves. This goes for both Josh, Anna, and the rest of the Ds. You can not commit yourself to a lifelong belief system and then admit you were completely fooled. You look bad- plain and simple- and people will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid thinking that of themselves. If you do- and that's a bit IF- - then you have to be a victim. And while that mindset has it's advantages- lack or responsibility etc- it can be very hard to get there. What I want is the big tell all- not from a family member but from the crew. I would love to hear what an "outsider" thought of Joshie & Co. -
S03.E12: The Number Of The Beast Is 666
penguinnj replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Hannibal [V]
Sp glad others noted the panty liner- I thought I must have been mistaken. Will- GET A NEW THERAPIST- really need to work on your boundaries. When I realized Jack and Will were at the hospital my reaction was literally "On no way in hell is Chilton still alive." and I stand by that. Alana is a very bad girl- her arc is probably the most dramatic of any of the characters. Only now do I see where Hannibal's "having dinner with an old friend" line will really work, and despite the anvils it's GOT to be Alana and not Bedelia. -

Loved Will's slow mo "We're so over they need a new name for it" walk from Molly to Hannibal. Love the funny moments :) -
S03.E10: ...And The Woman Clothed In Sun
penguinnj replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Hannibal [V]
My Bedelia love was "crushed" this episode- and I find that very sad, because I really liked her as a character. 2 reasons as far as I can tell. Making money on your fake drugging, Lydia Fell, I'm just a victim act with her lecture (hands off Will, please) just left me cold. I thought she had more to her than this- even if it meant publishing a "tell all" of how she survived Hannibal Lecter after her death to avoid arrest. Feeding the I'm a victim lie made sense in getting her out of custody, but perpetuating and profiting from it seems petty and I can't believe her ego would allow her to do that. Second- she killed Spock! I thought she was a better psychiatrist than that. She has to have seen non-brilliant serial killer type patients before- did she want to kill them all? Was this acting out after years of frustration? It just made no sense, to me, with the buildup and hints they dropped about this patient. Almost like they were trying to use the "garden variety manic depressive. Tedious, very tedious- therapy was going nowhere" stuff from canon with a twist but I don't think it worked with her. Perhaps because her buildup took so long I really was expecting more. -
S03.E09: And The Woman Clothed With The Sun

Great discussion! I am enjoying Hannibal being petulant and- for him- really rather crude (the censors really must be out to lunch). And, the way I'm seeing it- it's not just said for a reaction. In Silence I felt that he would say these sexually charged or plain gross- depending on your POV- things as a way to test Clarice and her boundaries. This time around it seems genuine, and it is a fascinating glimpse into the man who, despite what he has portrayed, is NOT all Mr. Suave Sophistication-pants. He's getting antsy and despite what he told Will life in the old Memory Palace is getting a little stale after 3 years. And maybe his murder family meant more than he even thought because he's having a hell of a time getting over them. -
I have seen all NuWho and almost 80% of classicWHO- missing some of the very first episodes. Fav combo- 10/Donna (closely followed by 11/Craig) Fav stand alone companion- Sarah Jane fav stand alone doctor- this is tough. 10 is "my" doctor, but I have a wholly inappropriate crush on Matt Smith and I really liked Amy (best backstory for a companion ever). Also love Tom Baker, but Peter Capaldi has the capacity to be the best doctor depending on this upcoming season. Clara is probably one of my least fav companions. I loved Osgood in Dalek Asylum but never really warmed to Clara.

Theses are wonderful!! Used to love the 90210 TWOP board and have missed it. These bring back some truly wonderful- and ghastly- memories!

Did Chiyo hop a plane with that rifle in her luggage? Or did she just teleport? I know those things shouldn't bother me, but I find them so funny. Love how Hannibal is trussed up and everyone runs to him for favors. I thought I even saw a little of that in his expression. Um, ladies, how about a little help before I save Will, kill Mason, have my hair ripped out, promise to keep your secrets, and extract a sperm sample for ya on the way out. Then he's gotta carry Will back to his house in the snow. I admire his stamina.

My first thought was "No, this won't happen. If anything, Hannibal would eat Will's heart, not his brain." Frustrating show- but I love it!

Am I the only one wondering how much more ridiculous Will's awesome adventure will be? One could reasonably infer that he had to sail from Baltimore to Europe and now has to walk from Lithuania to Italy. That is part of the pacing problem this season- IMHO. It feels like we are just waiting for Will to get to Hannibal and they have to make it is tough as possible to stretch it out- I mean Jack managed to board a plane- one assumes- and you know- fly to Italy. I just want to scream- it's NOT THAT HARD.

I agree with this but I had a different route. I adored Silence and Red Dragon but detested the other books. And yet I adore the series and will watch until the end because this is a different take on those books and- IMHOP- better storytelling. Great eppie but I agree it was slow advancing the plot. As much as I enjoyed each sequence, I would FF my TIVO shocked to see how little of the show was left and how little had happened. But so glad to see Will again. Although none of those humorous touches that I look forward too.

I am SO happy to have my show back :). Gorgeous episode. My favorite moment has to be how Hannibal is mildly insulted as he explains to Bedelia that after he killed the old curator he earned his job "fair and square." For some reason that just gave me the giggles.
