Plus he can't make money off the kid and it'd just be another mouth to feed. It makes sense for the zombie gym rats, because zombie strength plus actual muscle is useful for intimidation purposes. What I don't get is why kill Jackie since she was still making him a lot of money, despite one dead kid. Plus she was loyal, in that she told him about the two meatheads' attempt at stealing his business. How's her disappearance going to go unnoticed is what I want to know. I don't think Blain will do anything to Liv's brother, if he ends up working there, that is until he finds out he's Liv's brother. Then he'll probably use his proximity as leverage somehow. This episode made Liv's mom seem less two dimensional, which was nice. She's a bit vain, but she cares about her kids wellbeing. I wonder what happened to Liv's dad though.

THIS. So much! I love that she's reading him intuitively like this. Giving him a moment when Henry finds the wreck and Abigail's bones. I'll address the second bolded part first. Lucas-and the actor that plays him-was great all episode. From the moment with Jo and his throwing out he's Henry's bestfriend and then stating her and Henry would be his favourite couple ever, to him finding out about Henry's home lab (which I'm so happy for him to have been invited into the inner circle to be told about it), and then for the more serious sections. Just perfect. Now as for the the first part. I'm kind of curious as to why Abigail felt so strongly about keeping Adam away from Henry that she'd go through such drastic measures. I mean, was it just because he threatened to kill that girl? I know Adam said she thought he was going to harm Henry, but how did she come to that conclusion? And again, Henry's an immortal... yes torture could happen, but what would make her jump to that conclusion?And then it only set Adam back by 30 years, which I'm now curious why that long and how did he find Henry exactly? I guess, despite Adam's extreme measures at times, I don't feel like he's quite so terrible. I'm not even sure he'd have actually hurt that woman, so far he's only killed Henry-who he knew would come back-and set up a serial killer to die. (And I think I'm missing another, but also think that was a killer as well.) And yes that intimate poetry scene... wowee hot! Also, Dt. Hansen's "love them on a budget" and going out of the way to help out Jo, and the fact that she's his favourite person/partner in the precinct made me love him even more. I think that may factor into the story later when Henry's secret is outed to Jo (and maybe even Hansen?). Gah! Sooo hoping this get's renewed. I need more!

The episodes are being aired out of order. Although this one did allude to their relationship at least in the scene when Niedermayer is talking about the female artist being "utterly mesmorizing. How can you not watch her?" When Backstrom calls for Piquet, Niedermayer asks that what he said not be repeated.

I guess it's agree to disagree, in terms of them becoming their characters or not and whose performance was more "intense". I saw Anna as fully embodying JLo and the sexy divaness of that song. I will clarify though, that I noted the lag in John's performance when he came back to the front *after* lip syncing in Anna's face, when he was doing the chest shimmies and that last spin. He plowed through that earlier wardrobe malfunction like a pro, but that was before the point I'm referring to as a lag. According to this vulture write up on the show's success, the bookings are mostly done in tandem and the celebs already know each other. It's that preexisting relationship that makes them comfortable to have all the trash talking bits and ignites their competitive side to go balls to the wall in their performances. I am curious though, John to camera told Jimmy Fallon he's the devil, I wonder what that's about. I'm guessing a dare or something because of the dress, has there been anything about that in articles post the episode airing?

Wow to the comments so far... I thought this one was a close one, but Anna definitely earned that win. She lacked in performance how exactly? She put all her energy into what she did. The timing of the choreography for both songs were tight (and yes that first one was choreographed, that spin and mic switching hands next to the screen with Emily's face on it was on point). And lets face it, they *both* cheated. Krazinski's headset was a prop, just as much as Anna's TV screen & t-shirt was. Has it actually been stated that there are no props allowed, or is it just that the first round is supposed to be stripped down compared to the second? As for JLo being a wasted live prop, the star power from her cameo and her butt were the props. It's a lip sync battle, and not even her battle, why would she sing/lip sync? John sold his first performance perfectly. The second, however, started strong and even started the "rough" part strong, but he lost energy towards the end. It may have helped if there was more fringe on the top of the dress to see how much he was shaking his chest, but even then that was the easiest move to do to hide how tired he was. If Anna was tired during her second song, it didn't show, and she didn't lose character (posing at the fans giving 'tude was hilarious and so JLo she didn't really need to have the cameo). I'm not really a fan of the booty song itself, but you could tell from the audience reaction and John himself from the very beginning of Anna's second song she had won the audience over.

Yeah I felt that was strange. Though they were talking about the case and she was crushing, so I can kind of see where she'd be distracted? Kind of. You'd think it'd come up as a thing they have in common. Anyways, I'm assuming like someone else above that he gets his brains from Blaine. As a well off musician I'm guessing he's rich, so he'd be a target. All signs point to the police captain being a zombie. His weird interaction with Liv (anyone else think that he has also figured out that Liv is a zombie?), the nail clipping *right after* Lowell mentions it as how if found Liv out, then of course the hot sauce and his comment about instagram and food porn due to his new "diet". And he clearly (IMO) was turned by Blaine so he could get away with murdering missing people. Liv was already pretty pale before her zombiefication, and she can pull off the look. Lowell said it didn't suite him. Blaine also doesn't dye his hair either, though remember. Also Liv went through a whole depression like stage before she started crime solving and finding purpose in living again, her routine of putting little effort in doing just enough to pass as a live human was built then. Plus remember she thought she was the only one for a long time, why would she think other's would jump to that conclusion? As for the conversation at the crime scene, I think that could be explained away as dark morgue humour. Ravi eats around the bodies too. However, I think there are better examples of them talking about her eating brains in public that aren't so easy to explain... just maybe not this episode. I can't recall at the moment. I too thought it was Major in the body bag, but I think it'd be too soon for him to die. Any I'd rather there be time for her to explore her chemistry with Lowell before a full blown triangle occurs. Because even if Major had been in that bag, I also thought he'd be a zombie, for storytelling sake. Plus they just moved Ravi in with him last episode, which brings him into their storylines a bit, they wouldn't kill him off completely that quick. Did anyone else find it jarring that this episode of the week wasn't exactly solved? It wasn't solved, the other girl went missing (likely dead or a zombie now). This episode was definitely building up for stuff down the line.

Maybe they're trying to show that even despite all that, everyone has buttons that can be pushed that leads to loss of confidence. And no one is "beloved by all". I can't remember what show it was, but I recall one tackling the inevitability of there being someone that doesn't like you. The character bent over backwards trying to figure out why and get the person to like them, and in the end found out why and change, but the person still didn't like them. I'm thinking Even Stevens or something like that, maybe even Boy Meets World. Anyways, pretty much everyone, even extremely likeable people get bullied at one point or another.

TEASE! Ha, that's the main thing I was thinking of about the show after that ending. I totally agree and think this is probably the most plausible way things will unfold. Watching that final scene between Jo and Henry I had the impression that Henry was aware of what was coming from Jo. Upon re-watching I still feel like the gulp and way he said "why?" indicates he was aware of where she was going but afraid. Based on how the Hilary Burton character Iona Payne/Molly Dawes romantic interest storyline ended, Henry's not ready. Story and character wise Henry needs to find closure at least with Abigail, at most with his immortality situation, before he'd be able to have another love story. So for me while watching that scene I got caught up and wanted Jo to say how she felt, I feel like it's a good thing Abe interrupted. Jo seems to just have figured out how she feels which is why she went to Henry, but that doesn't mean she's really sussed things out. As I said above, I think he was aware of what she was about to say, he's just very hesitant and afraid of it and the fallout when he doesn't reciprocate because he's not ready. I too thought it had to do with insurance, but would she have been insured before she became a Prima? Which leads me into why do it before she had a chance to prove herself as a prima at least once, versus before? Is it better to be remembered for the "possibility of being the greatest" or "being the greatest cut down in her prime"? Either way, she got what she wanted and her brother died and she didn't seem to care at all. Her priorities were a mess, that being said I find it believable the character would be the type to come up with such a crackpot scheme.

I think that's how this show gets away with the father being manipulative about having an heir after his own children. Sherlock here suggests she should have gotten his fathers seed, but maybe the thought is that Sherlock's is more likely to produce more geniuses? I was not great in biology, so I don't know if it works like that. But just thought. Edited to add "Ditto to sinkwriter's sentiments on this weeks recap".

That reveal was awesome, definitely like that better than father & son. I also don't agree with what Moto said and feel like it was weird for his character to express that particular sentiment. I like the relationship with Gregory's mom and Backstrom, that they're still friendly. I get emotional whiplash with this show and the Backstrom character, he seems to be meanest to males. Or he's only nice to women he'd want to bed or already has, as evidenced by how much friendlier he is with his ex, Paquet, Gregory's mom and the woman bartender this episode. Oh and I'm curious how Gregory is going to deal with Blue, it's not as though he's delicate. And he doesn't have the imbalance of power in his relationship with Blue, the way he would have if her grew up with Blue as a dad. What I mean is that Backstrom kind of reverts back to childhood dynamic with Blue and Gregory would be meeting Blue as a hardly impressionable adult.

I knew she'd have known about the party all along. I like that she's consistently a great detective. I also like how she handled both Frankie and Max. As for the possible pregnancy, I don't usually care about tv pregnancies one way or another, but if this means Tony stays in the picture then bring it on! He was sorely missed this episode. What was with that look that Billy gave Meredith when she first sat down? Annoyance? He has to know she likes him. I thought they'd already been out on a date earlier in the season, but then after the episode when Frankie joined and made that comment about them being into each other but not know it yet and now this... By the way, I'm loving that there are more female cops in this show than male. It became especially obvious with Billy in the car on stake out with the NCIS woman, but then him getting calls from both Meredith and Laura. And even though they don't show Laura doing a lot of take downs (the cold opens always have Billy or someone else running after the perp), Meredith kicks down doors and tackles perps, as does Frankie.

AHA! I was wondering why that guy seemed vaguely familiar. Wow, this is one case where I didn't recognize someone simply because of their hair, or lack thereof. And yeah with all that irony, plus the fact that Liv refers to herself as the Brain in episode too. Ha. Ditto on the love for Ravi and that friendship. I liked the comment upthread someone made suggesting that Peyton may be an example of what Liv was like as a pre zombie. I think that's probably true, but I don't see that as a bad thing. She worked hard and didn't have as much fun outside of that, but she wasn't having much for the 6 months before Ravi found out about her and that she started working with Clive either. I think it's being able to talk to someone like Ravi, as well as being pushed out of her self imposed barriers that are leading her to "living". Sure the brains give her new skills, but it's Ravi's motivation and cheerleading that's giving her the confidence to try something completely different.

I really liked that show too! Plus Becki from Ugly Betty, she's one of the reasons I kept with that show as long as I did. I actually really liked this pilot. I like all the actors from various other projects they've done with the exception of Meera Rohit Kumbhani who I've never seen before. I'm actually most intrigued by her character, her and Nate Torrence's character interactions made me laugh the most in the pilot. As much as I like the actors and the creator of One Big Happy, I can't get into it either. I feel like I'm forcing it. I don't think it has anything to do with the laugh track or whatever. It may have to do with it being multi-camera vs single and how the actors have to project the jokes. Weird Loners, I get a slight Happy Endings vibe which certainly helps, since I was a fan of that.

Agreed with all of what you said except about the "permanently wrinkled forehead look" part. If my own experience is any indication, I imagine that habit started due to an insecurity about the size of their foreheads. If it is put on. In CGJ's case I think that's just his face. I didn't notice the non sequitur because I do that sort of thing all the time, but now that you point it out... hilarious. I didn't remember the Numbers connection, but I definitely cried out "yes!" at my screen when I saw David Krumholtz was cast as young Abe. Perfect casting there. I agree with the lack of chemistry sentiment, but that may also be in comparison to seeing Henry and Jo or Jo and Dt Hanson interact, still that's significant. I'm hesitant to label "courting" or "seduction" methods as creepy, if only because anything can be seen that way if the advances are unwelcome. Considering how many of the audience members find Alana and CGJ's pairing unwelcome, naturally it'd be seen as "creepy". But this all goes with my feeling that that storyline hasn't been handled well, but I don't know where to put the blame, maybe both writing and acting. I mean, taking someone to a place you're tearing down in a week? How romantic... Not. Great catch about Abe being just as much in the dark about his mother's whereabouts as Henry. I didn't read the scene that way, but I like it. Also glad that Henry snapped out of his grief to a degree when Abe pointed out that he lost Abigail too. Romantic love is not the end all be all, I'm glad Henry's been written as placing his child first (in a healthy way). In regards to the look at the end that Henry gave Jo, I'm still figuring out how I feel about that. I like them as close friends and partners, while I could see Jo and Henry together earlier in the season as a possibility, I've gotten used to them as platonic. I'm curious to see how things pan out. I imagine some overlap with Abigail mystery and Jo and Henry coupling (if it happens), as either a road block or permission.

I prefer my procedurals light hearted, so I'll miss this too if it gets cancelled. Plus, I really like seeing Tony and Laura together. Neal Bledseo is just so.... erghm. Anyways, I second liking the way they've gone with Meredith getting over her competitiveness with Laura. Kinda. I mean, this episode showed her still being a bit bratty in not trading shifts with Laura, but I like that she didn't do it just because Billy wanted her to and she clearly has a crush. Also, I found it amusing that Max talking about how to deal post wax was "too much" and not Laura announcing she got waxed in the first place and that Billy just took it all in stride. I imagine Billy and Laura's Palster match would be pretty compatible as well.

HA! This made me guffaw. Yeah I remember this too, (what episode was that by the way?) but that would have been just another reason on top of the missing key and suspicions of the captain that Henry was undermining him. I don't think the order of the flashbacks matter as much as the content. Henry's first "death" was shown before we knew about the father's slave ships, yes. In this last episode the captain's confrontation in front of the cells Henry was about to open, was interrupted by need of the doctor because someone was sick (I imagine this is the same sick slave he was trying to help when he was shot). Henry's sympathy for the slaves had already been somewhat revealed, as was the captain's bullheaded aggression towards Henry and anyone standing in his way.

I loved Henry's amusement at Jo's bringing the gun. As for the story at then end, all I kept thinking is how that doesn't explain the skeleton of the man who allegedly wrote that all down. Also, for the very end, at least Henry is being given the choice to explore, rather than Adam forcing it on him to test out the theory. Though, I'm not sure how much I trust it'll stay like that.

I agree with all of the above EXCEPT all the anti beard on Mutt comments. That thing is beautifully groomed and looks so good on Tim Rozon. Plus it makes him look warmer and softens his face (he has very sharp facial features) and it helps differentiate him from his Instant Star character, Tommy. Also, I want to expand more on how great it is that David's pansexual. From the little conversation between his parents about his heterosexual hook up not being a phase, and then later acknowledgement that neither were any of his other experiences when his dad explains to the mayor that David loves everyone. I think it was all around well done. I continue to love the friendship between Stevie and David, I like that the awkwardness at the dinner table between them was flipped and instead of it inciting tension it brought them together, even with David being confused and not being in on the act. I'm also enjoying the slow burn of Alexis and Mutt's interactions and friendship.

Awe, no comments? This is definitely my favourite episode so far (that's even after watching episodes 8 and 9). I've watched this one multiple times, in fact, which for me means a lot. The ending between David and Moira had me bursting out laughing. Everything was spot on though, I loved that Johnny and Moira are a team, that he gave her a heads up that Jocelyn was approaching behind her after she was freaking out about her wig. I am also a fan of the friendship between Mutt and Alexis and the whole (paraphrasing) "a polite person would ask what I was doing tonight" and Mutt's "Oh right, that's what this is about, you".

I really hope the Ben thing is over. I'm guessing that the girl from Revenge is just a guest star and won't be around long, but whether that means Danny and riley will finally get together remains to be seen. I hope so though, I like that pairing for the same reason you stated. As for the officer, she knew he wasn't a sailor, and even though she cited "the back" as evidence of that knowledge, I think she knew before that.

I totally agree with everything you said. This was my most anticipated fall show and I wasn't disappointed. There are a lot of stories to tell here. I'm interested in seeing how the cheerleader (Kara?) continues to interact with Charlie's dad considering she has something to hold over him. There were a few instances requiring a suspension of disbelief (the huge hospital rooms, Rueben, how quickly people accepted that Charlie was talking to them), but it's a teen drama, so I accept. Wilson Cruz, who played Rickie Vasquez from the cult classic My So-Called Life (not The Secret Life of the American Teenager) was the male nurse. I too was excited to see him on TV. I already love his relationship with Octavia Spencer's head nurse character.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with this comment. Especially #2. The only way this show works and lasts as long as it has is for the whole, new As keep taking over. We've already had Mona, and as for the others that have been revealed, they were doing Mona A like behaviour (the whole black hoodie and leather gloves and messages signed A). Though if I recall correctly, before the Ezra is A reveal there weren't really any threatening texts or manipulation through A messages, which to me hinted that we were in transition and not dealing with an evil A. I like the theory mentioned up thread and that was hinted at this episode with the Art of War comments and Ali saying that Jenna was manipulating Shauna. The idea that most of what is going on is reaction upon reaction of a war between Jenna and Ali is intriguing. Likely there is at least one or two other wars going on too, the NAT Club age group was probably one, and we're just still getting ripples from that. There's likely also one going on between the Hastings and the DiLaurientis'. By Ali's account yes Mona helped her, but really that "help" was so that Mona could move in and become Queen B. It's probably this same sort of self preservation idea that has her creating the Justice League, not to "get her" as in kill her, but to keep Ali down, power wise. In regards to the A-black hoodie flash mob in the park. My brain filled in the blanks that Shauna organized that probably through craigslist or something, and that no one or most of the people that participated in that didn't even know who the Liars were. Shauna was a step ahead in getting the girls separated from Aria, thus the whole Group text message "Follow the leader" (aka Ali).
