Ben's mom fawned over Jessa. Even to the point of saying Ben's out of his league. Other than that she seems to at least have a little class.

I had an ex co-worker who was much like Jessa, actually worse, probably because she was raised in the real world. By the the 6th month of her pregnancy she had all her appointments made for her 9th month. Not medical appointments mind you, appointments for waxing, pedicure, and her hair. She was more worried of how she would look from literally head to toe than the baby's birth.

Another trend. I 1st heard about it 17 years ago when my niece had her twins. Her hubby bought her a ring for "pushing" out the twins.

Most are okay with the toes, usually moms are wearing socks because it is so cold.

This should be handled by professionals. His parent needs to call the local Crisis number and have him evaluated. Suicidal ideation is not something that can be "cured" in one night by a bunch of hugs by friends.

I'm doing a little self-analyzing, and I enjoyed GEML's posts, and another poster (who didn't post in small talk) but has recently disappeared. And I was interested in MM's post. If the 3 had anything to do with each other, I now feel I am a prime target for a scam. Now I'm trying to figure out what the appeal of those particular posters was for me.

Muir, for real???!? I googled the name the account was held in and noted the location was Los Angeles. She came up as a comedienne. I'm not familiar with how the accounts are set up and how legit one has to be to do it. But I thought that curious too.

I thought maybe GEML was asked to take a break for kind of hijacking threads and making them off topic. And then stubbornly never returned. She also told us who she really is.

Another thought occurred to me. I have no problem sharing my life events but I am afraid of revealing my identity. Really mostly because for all I know I have clients on this board. But now I am more aware of the many silent readers, which I tend to forget about, and they too could be people I know. So, thank-you WW and your cohorts, for making me more internet savvy and aware.

I'm guessing two things. One, it's her modus operandi, and two, it wouldn't sound very believable that a mother of a medically needy infant going through chemo would have the time or feel up to posting. Plus, she had too move and all ;)

So how does one go about finding a forum of interest? I found this one prior to the scandals by accident. I was looking for more info on the Duggar woman and oppression, or something to that effect and PTV popped up. I read a little then moved on. Then a few weeks later I was bored and thought I'll checked that site again. Only it took me 2 days to find it because I forgot the name. However, I would like fun & interesting forums, not ones that would piss me off. I have a lot of interests, but I am unsure of what kind of forum would interest me. I'm going with the Munchhausen's by Internet theory with the secondary benefit of a cash bonus.

I would love to hear the details too. It is our own little modern day mystery.

I'm not sure of the definition of oversharing. As a Clinician people share very intimate details with me during therapy, and with others, during group therapy. Obviously that is the purpose of my job. But I think here where it feels/felt safe, sharing was easy because of the anonymity. So I wasn't surprised that folks shared. Many of us shared a lot, and many dipped toes in the water. There is nothing wrong with sharing tough times, receiving support, and feeling validated. And sometimes doing it under the cover of a screen name feels safer. So fuck-you to WW.

Silly me too. I'm over 50 and all this time I thought having a kind heart, being honest, being a self sustaining family unit, raising independent children, and believing in the goodness of mankind were solid values. Who knew I've been doing wrong all these years. And to think I should have been focused on wearing skirts and not kissing boys when I was younger. My first kiss was when I was in 4th grade and a 5th grade boy who I was friends with kissed me and then ran away. I'm pretty sure I was wearing pants. I guess I overcame a lot, because apparently being kissed by a boy at 9 years old could have ruined my life.
