  1. Someone tell Jill she's advertising clothes. She looks like she's auditioning for third cousin MILF.
  2. I have no doubt Jinger thinks her eyes are wide open, but she still lives in a 'you don't know what you don't know' state of mind. Its her desire and willingness to try to see things differently that leaves the door open to more changes. Changes she may not be ready for right now and changes she may never buy into. Many folks reach for faith when they're going through tough times. I think folks like the Duggars should give up 'faithing' for a month and see what happens.
  3. I think the word selfish is a misnomer. I think a better word is practical or maybe pragmatic. The reasons for those who choose not to have children are plentiful and personal. And of course there are those who are childless not by choice. Having or not having children is no one's business, unless of course you go on TV and make it everybody's business.
  4. I'm thinking we should be thankful Jill's faith doesn't allow female preachers. Jill's initial presentation to her "sweet friends" obviously works and if given the right platform she could become someone akin to Gwen Shamblin.
  5. There's an interesting article out about a young adult who discusses the damage of living in an influencer family. It turned even worse for her youngest two siblings, but she emphasizes the emotional damage of basically living a life on SM.
  6. Going off @satrunroseis saying, IMO the parts I bolded shows how Jinger is struggling to shake quiverfull. She's trying to come to terms with once being one of the folks who believed not having children is wrong. Jinger needs/wants/is comforted by including God in the decision. Whether she truly believes God is guiding her or she uses that as a reason not to feel selfish is up for debate.
  7. Yikes, Jennie looks like Joe and Hannie looks like Jed.
  8. Six brand new, stain free, returnable dresses for under $50.00.
  9. I'm guessing most of these dresses are not currently available from stores. They likely were fails from retail stores long ago.
  10. I hadn't listened to the video when I responded. I quickly changed my stance when I realized what she said.
  11. But she is freer than she has ever been before. She is on record stating the things she is doing differently, beyond clothing changes. Her critical thinking has been unlocked. Once its unlocked there is no going back. And she didn't criticize others for not having children - she said she was the one being called selfish for controlling her family size.
  12. Its all baby steps. None of the non-Duggar husbands grew up quiverfull, but the Duggar daughters did. I'm sure Jinger judged herself as being selfish for using birth control, in addition to her family judging her for not having kid after kid. They mentioned Jed. If the twin girls are born before Truett's May birthday, they will have 4 kids with the oldest being 2 years old - if only for a brief time. That is what Jinger and her sisters envisioned their lives to be, yet only Jessa is following in her parents' footsteps. It'll be interesting to see what Jana does.
  13. Does Carlin even know what the word vain means, lol? I agree short flowy dresses look better with leggings and keep the lady parts covered in a stiff breeze or a walk up a set of stairs.
  14. I just watched part of the video. My take was Jinger feels judged as being selfish for only having two (soon to be three) kids. That each family needs to do what is right for them, including asking God.
  15. Ugh, what an asinine thing to say. They is nothing selfish about not having children and how hurtful to the folks who want them and can't.
  16. I have to give them credit for saying they'd like a boy. Jeremy said something like, they're curious about raising a boy, but being a girl dad is great. At the same time at least they didn't go as far as Erin Bates who had her kids pray for a boy.
  17. I'm leaning toward Janessa being misdiagnosed in utero or Jill lying. She was born in a hospital so surely they would have done follow up tests when she was born with having such a serious diagnosis. Also I don't think Janessa would be walking and talking in such a neglectful environment if the in utero diagnosis was correct. My guess is Jill 'stole' this story from some (unfortunate) "sweet friend" and used it to make herself a hero of an anti-choice statement.
  18. IMO, honor isn't something one should be trained into doing. Honor is earned.
  19. For Jana? I don't think so. She was for Jason though.
  20. First and foremost from the show. Then from SM and Jana's lack of posts including Josie.
  21. I like Jill just as much as all the sisters, but I agree that she somehow became an unsnarkable hero to some followers. As far as sibling relationships, none of the sisters were all that close to any of their siblings. Some buddies became attached to their big buddy, but I think only the brothers and Joy had anything close to a friendship within similar aged sibling groups. Jana was never an introvert. She was a chatterbox who was trained to tone it down.
  22. For the last 5+ years it seems Jana has spent most of her time with Hannah, Jenny and Jordyn, as well as Joy. Maybe Anna and Laura too. Jessa has been known to hang at the TTH, so they see each other some. But in the last couple of years I think Hannah, Jenny, Abbie and JD have been her chaperones when dating Stephen, so Jana likely feels very close to them at this time. Who knows what it will look like in a year or two now that Jana lives a few hours away. Jana has no patience for Josie. Jill and Jinger don't see the family all that much so it makes sense they're not close to their sisters anymore.
