  1. I agree there were many ridiculously easy clues tonight. I liked the "Bridges" category but for the highest value one, they showed a photo of Venice. I thought they were going to ask for The Bridge of Sighs or Rialto Bridge. Instead they just wanted that you recognize this was a picture of Venice! A 3rd grader would know that! It seems like the show is getting easier. I am certainly not getting smarter. Except for the movie questions- those seem to be getting harder, like you need to be a real movie buff to win this show anymore.
  2. same here! I enjoyed that category. My 20 somethings sons are impressed with my knowledge of 70s music.
  3. I think it was sort of the opposite- they thought going on TV would give them exposure and get more people to donate to their GoFundMe. They liked the publicity of being on TV. They had no actual desire to stop eating. We have heard in this forum that the people featured on the show get about $4000 toward their moving expenses and of course the surgery is free. I don't know where this figure came from but it is the one is out there. For someone without a pot to piss in (because he uses a catheter) $4000 looks like a big payoff.
  4. Eureka sounds exactly like Ginger Minj and just on my last nerve- know it all, bitter, not funny except once in a blue moon, trying too hard. I love Valentina and a few others so far. Since I didn't study up I have no clue who they all are as boys in the confessionals. It may take me weeks.
  5. I thought it was 4 letters too! I was shocked that it was 4 words. Was the answer Alexandria? I thought it was something else. Because that is not Native American. Alexandria is a city in Egypt founded by Alexander the Great- named after himself. Unless he was named after a Native American.
  6. I am rewatching. She really got around so much better at the end of the episode when she lost the 200 pounds . I didn't think I could see much difference, but now watching again I can. She could not walk a few feet. I think if she didn't need 6 leg surgeries he might have done the bypass. Just she does not need another surgery on top of the many that she is going to have. And it seemed so painful.

  8. I got buckwheat and that was it. I did no do very well but I thought FJ was very easy if you know opera.
  9. Does anyone here believe that her husband overlooked her 500 pounds and her health issues and her weird almost side show looking legs because he was just so in love with her personality? I'm just wondering. I think there is something going on here. It could be that he likes to shock others. Or he said He likes to be needed. Or he has a fetish. Or he likes the whole freak show thing. Something more than just her dazzling personality made this pretty good looking guy attracted to her. It's not like "we have so much fun together" when she can't get out of bed....
  10. Eh, I disagree, eat fruit if you want. No one ever got fat because they ate too much fruit. As for the no carb low carb dieting and all how great it is people singing its praises in thread--, add me to the list of people that can't stand it, can't do it, won't do it and has lost weight and kept it off fine while enjoying a diet of average 50% carbs each day- in this day and age I am a pro-carb person, a weirdo and a pariah. A few times in my life I attempted that Atkins type diet and I was never so miserable in my life. It's disgusting. I do try to limit most of the carb intake to before 3PM. I do think the more complex carbs are obviously better than white flour and sugar laden carbs. But oatmeal, potatoes, good whole grain breads, fat free popcorn, fruit, even a bagel in the morning- hell no I'm not going to give that up. You can't eat junk food =obviously= but hey you can lose weight eating carbs. I don't recommend it for Dr Nows patients, because they need to do what he says--but if you need to lose weight without weight loss surgery then you better have a diet that does not make you feel deprived, and like you want to kill yourself...you should go with something you can stick with over the long term, too many restrictions backfires over the long term. If you want to have a bagel for breakfast, 2 slices of bread at lunch and a potato with dinner, and fruit 3 times a day and can keep your total calories to a reasonable amount, and exercise you can lose weight. And not have breath that tastes like nail polish remover.
  11. Yeah that accent is really strong. I sway-are to yew-ew doctor he's really tryin'!
  12. She really had a very youthful face-it was the all gray hair that made her look 60. If she dies her hair brown it would take off 15 years,
  13. I got the TS of Jacques Cartier and Renoir. Like a lot of you above I figured FJ out at the last second. I agree it was a good clue! That French category and Alex- holy moly- or should I say Mon Deux! He is getting insufferable.
  14. I still don't understand why no other doctor told her about decreasing her salt to help the lymphadema swelling. Even Dr. Na didn't seem to mention it.
  15. That has got to be so painful, getting those cut off. Poor thing.
  16. You would think she would get painkillers and sleeping pills for that trip- something that would put her to sleep for ten hours, Yikes! I feel really sorry for her, it seems terribly sad. Many people eat just as much as she does and don't end up like this.
  17. I would think when it first starts though you would need lose a lot of weight, because that is supposed to be very helpful. Isn't is a side effect of obesity?
  18. I just started watching but this is sad. She seems like a human oddity. Like in the olden days they would travel around with human oddities in a carnival tour. Her stomach and upper body look okay to me- a few rolls. How she let the lymphadema spiral out of control I don't know. She sounds normal when she talks, like when she naturally described what lymphadema is, she sounded somewhat educated. Then when she was reading the script the writers wrong for her she sounds total illiterate and ignorant. "The road of Life is full of twists and turns and sometimes there is a big twist in the road"- whoever wrote that opening statement needs to be fired. She sounds like a moron reading that. Anyway I feel sorry for her. No way to live.
  19. I know flappa 1016, my friend's dad was in a similar situation and he was obstinate and surly and often nasty to others as well. He was also wearing the depends. It's a shame because he was a WWII hero and to be reduced to that state is really sad. And so hard on the caregivers. But he didn't want himself to that state, just old age sucks. The other thing is yes you are right about the order of the pooping the bed! We realized this a few pages back! I Know there is waaaaaay to much to read. Good luck with your father-in-law I know it isn't easy.
  20. And some of us are unlucky. I was diagnosed with periodontal disease. Since them I floss twice a day, brush 3 times a day, and use a waterpik religiously. I get a "periodontal maintenance" cleaning every 3 months and somehow my gums are getting worse. At my last visit, the dental hygienist said to me: Do you Floss? And I lost it right there! I was like YES ALL I DO IS WORK ON THESE FUCKING TEETH! Do I floss? Jesus H. Christ and then I started crying.
  21. Sorry this quote functionis leaving out the answer-some above answered my question that the FBI is watching the Russian family next door. Why would the FBI be watching them if the CIA smuggled him out of Russia? Does Tuan really live right next door to them? Maybe he lives a few blocks over and is able to see the schedule of the cars watching the family.
  22. Can someone explain why the FBI is watching Tuan? They were talking about a schedule of cars. They know he is a spy? Also would Australia be allowed to export midges to the USA? I thought shipping any kind of bug was to another country was specifically prohibited by treaties. Which is why you can't bring fruit from another country into a different country. It wasn't snuck in either because they found a customs record of it.
  23. I was thinking about how much they were laughing when they decided to show "look at my arm, it's hard as a rock" from lifting the 3 pound weights.
  24. welcome Meow Mah Leg I think they must get about $1800 a month and their rent is $500 a month. That leaves them $300 a week to feed the 2 of them fast food. It's possible on that $40 a day for food can buy quite a bit. The house they were in I don't think would rent for 2 high, it looked like a shithole. Anytime Lisa can she complains her bills are piling up. The car need a new tire and she told the security guy it was going to be at least a couple of months before they could get it fixed.
