  1. Did Alex tell us what the 1964 song was? Guy on the end needed a better quality shirt or a T-Shirt under it or a tie. Not a good look to wear a see-through dress shirt. I guessed Meander and Wander for that one that the answer that was Ramble and Amble. The clue was "first word means walking but can mean talking on and on with no point" and the other word is walking along. I guess meander doesn't have anything to do with talking. I want my $400 Alex!!
  2. I LOVE this quiz!! http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/61018/history-by-letter-h This is great for studying history for jeopardy. Thanks!
  3. I have just tried that sight. The format is a little strange on the first quiz on your link. You fill in country names without having to know where they are . After you type in the name, it shows you where the country is. The European quiz was a good way to test your knowledge after you have learned the countries but not an easy way to learn them. I prefer the format of http://lizardpoint.com/geography/index.php They ask where a country is and you have to click on it and the maps are much larger (my eyes are terrible). I did take the Europe Map Quiz and got a 90% because I messed up Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia!
  4. I love it, I have been doing so much better at Jeopardy since I've been doing the Lizard Point geography quizzes. I was mad at myself for missing Sudan the other night though. I've been brushing up on Africa again as I seem to have forgotten everything I know. I know all the countries and their capitol cities in Central and South America because of it. The other night I knew French Guyana was the answer because of this. Also Slovenia and Slovakia was easy for me, I doubt before Lizard Point I would have even known there was a country called Slovenia. I am working on bodies of water now. The Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and their ports seems to come up a lot as well as the Middle East and their waterways and ports.
  5. Have you used Lizard Point geography quizzes? That has really helped me a lot. It's fun and you work your way up the quizzes. Africa has been tough but you can break it down into smaller parts. TV is in every single game. Movies and TV must be required to be in all games.
  6. The topic was "capitol cities" and Adelaide is not the capitol of Australia.
  7. I thought Toyko because it is on an island. However Honshu does not start with T. The whole country is not an island either. Toyko is the most populated city in the world on an island starting with a different letter. Therefore I blew it.
  8. I believe it was him saying very slowly and then demonstrating the one handed clap
  9. I never knew what the show Macgyver was about and never had any interest in it. I assumed it was just like Barreta or the Rockford Files or any other detective series featuring a male lead. No one in my life has ever used that term talking to me and I've never seen it in print. An example how a tipping point missed somebody. I did think Slovenia and Slovakia and Vatican City were the easiest FJ's I've ever seen and people here missed those. My mentally disabled son knew Macgyver as well so it seems I've been living under a rock.
  10. At the beginning I thought what a well-spoken deep thinking person. But she totally disintegrated before our eyes into one big dumb shit.
  11. I have never in my life heard "MacGyver" to mean anything except the name of a TV show. Never heard anyone say it and I've never read it in print. In fact while I was trying to think of it I asked my son to tell me the name of a few TV shows with a name of a person and he said "MacGyver" and I said No that's not it....easy for one is hard for someone else! Do you say "I just Macgyvered this together?" Or do people say "he is quite the Macgyver with broken things" or "I wish I could Macgyver as well as George"?
  12. All three women were wearing the same color top= bland gray and had the same personalities or lack of. I thought the FJ was very easy. I was surprised 2 of them missed it. The name of the country is "Vatican City" though and not "The Vatican." eta: missed the posts same! I guess it is the kind of thing they allow. I got the TS of Tuscan.
  13. I really doubt getting Jenzi was Whitney's idea. I'm sure Jenzi wanted to be on TV and this opportunity came up and he jumped at it. I imagine it was a TLC producer idea and not Whit. After the filming of Jenzi it looks like they did get a local dance teacher to work with them to make sure everyone learned it (basing that on the previews) - that is my theory anyway. Whitney has nothing to do with any of it.
  14. She seemed very pleased at 460 pounds, almost like she was done. She was still scooting around in that wheelchair though. I don't think she is going to lose much more. I just don't have a good feeling about it. We never saw her cook or make anything healthy to eat.
  15. And $5 a day for a 12 pack of soda. You can find it cheaper but I doubt these people are coupon bargain shopping when they have a craving.
  16. Hi cousin Oliver I remember you from sucks. An 150 pound person who loses 11 pounds is a big deal. A 600 pound person can lose 11 pounds just going to the restroom. Their weight varies that much day to day- they have much more water weight- just because they are so big, they carry more water in the tissues too because they have more fat tissue. Dr Na knows that if a 600 pound person follows his plan they will actually lose 40 pounds in that month. These cheaters get real excited about the 11 pounds because they ate awful and cut back for 3 days before the appt and prayed they would show a loss. Dr Na knows they were fucking around. Now if you are I lost 11 pounds thats like 5% or more of our weight where for her is .0005% You can always tell when they say "I don't know what the scale is going to show, I tried my best" that they were fucking around. That one woman whose niece was preparing all the food and doling it out, she lost almost 50 pounds the first month.
  17. Maybe when you up and move yourself and your whole family you try harder...I think that is a big motivation- they are in a shithole apartment in Houston, have nothing to do, don't know anyone, so why not diet?
  18. my grandfathers clock was too large for the shelf so it stayed 90 years on the floor!! Oh love that song! Forgot all about it! Now I can't stop singing it. I like to brag when my son (special needs adult) gets a TS- he said Don Adams! Take that smarty pants...he knew the humpback whale too- I didn't. I also got the Hora, hava nagila hava! What is a male go-go dancer? Do we have go-go dancing anymore or is he a stripper?
  19. 10 pounds - 11 pounds is nothing when you weigh 600 pounds....at least we weren't subject to a cross country move. She was bitching about 90 minutes in the car- try 5 days and breaking the bed in the hotel. Does Dr. Na know her mother died from obesity?
  20. Wait, how did she get a boyfriend at 600 pounds and I can't get one?
  21. Phillip didn't seem disgusted to me at all. Elizabeth was the one who took major offense. It seemed to me that he was agreeing with her so she won't suspect how he really feels...which is that he does not want to ever go back there and loves the lifestyle in the US of A.
  22. I disagree 1000% - it's offensive. There is nothing funny about breast cancer. This is way off topic, I am aware and sorry to the mods but my blood boils over this. The following is from a woman with breast cancer- I'll quote her because I feel the same way. They would never have a fundraiser for colon cancer and everyone wears white tighties in support of men with colon cancer. When I see SAVE THE TATAS, my stomach hurts. When breast cancer is reduced to “boobies” and “hooters” and sexualized Facebook games, I want to shout STOP IT. Just please stop it. When I was deciding whether to undergo a preventative double mastectomy, I did not spend time soul-searching about my tatas. My sister, my dad, my umpteen friends did not carefully consider and select treatment options for their boobies. Women do not sit their children down for a discussion of chemotherapy for their hooters. Whether we mean it or not, trivializing these struggles is offensive. The intentions are good, I know, but there is a point where awareness efforts become so common that they lose all meaning. We are so “aware” of breast cancer and its pink ribbon that we are not really aware at all. You might be saying, “Aw, Becca, chill out. Humor makes everything better.” You know I agree with that. But guys, there is a line between humor and minimizing breast cancer patients into a junior high school joke. And I think we’ve crossed that line. SincerelyBecca.com also used to think campaigns that focused on breasts were cute and fine. “Save the Tatas” made me giggle. They don’t make me giggle anymore. There are survivors living with conditions and scars (both physically and emotionally) that remind them daily of the cancer that haunted their bodies and minds, that continue to haunt them with every check-up at the oncologist’s office or every daily morning prevention pill. Focusing on breasts and breasts alone obscures the reality and the faces of the people who are at the center of the fight against breast cancer. It reminds the survivors who either don’t have their breasts or have scars across the breasts they do have that they are now not as wholly feminine as they once were (and they never will be). They may have beaten the cancer but they lost their breasts, the things everyone seems to actually care about. And for those who don’t survive their cancer, well, I think they, more than any other group, show how silly a focus on breasts/titties/tatas/jugs is. [Plus, this bothers me also for the simple reason that since this is a cancer that mainly strikes women, it has to be about the body part, a body part that is so hyper-sexualized in our society that breastfeeding a child is a salacious public act. Oh, what would the menz do without the boobies to look at, fondle, and drool over? Save those tatas, ladies!]
  23. To me it looked really fresh. There was blood and all, like he died the day before. I guess very little time had gone by? It almost looked like he'd been embalmed, except for the blood. I guess I'll have to look up the rate of decomposure of the human body but the piece of flesh they cut off seemed really "fresh". Yeeks this is so gross. I love when Paige asked her mom about did she ever think about killing that guy? NO because she has done way, way worse. She doesn't give it a second thought. I doubt she regretted shooting old Hans in the head.
  24. I'm also annoyed at Barbells for Boobs. Why is breast cancer the only cancer reduced to its body part and then using cutesy terms for it. How about a fundraiser for testicular cancer call Barbells for Nuts? Or prostate cancer called Barbells for Weeners? How about Save the Dicks! I'd like to find a bumper sticker that says Save the Balls... It's just one of my pet peeves.
