  1. He could be dead since the author of that article had no contact with James or anyone else that had any contact with James. Just because that article is para-phrasing a week old article full of hearsay, it doesn't prove James is still alive.
  2. As I stated in my post a few above yours, even tho the title of the article was "James feels bad" he never actually said that. There is NO direct quote from James anywhere saying he feels bad. The article is written because there is so much interest in this show to get people to click on it. It contains no new information and no factual information. A PT reported in A DIFFERENT article - second hand - that James feels bad. Aside from that, of course you are right about every else in your post! And im sure he doesnt feel bad. I don't know why this PT gave the original interview, it sounds like he is trying to promote himself.
  3. This so-called NEW article contains nothing new. Its called "My 600 pound life Update" but its not an update. The title makes it seem like James actually said something new, that he said to the writer of this article that he regrets his actions on the show, but initially it was heresay, as it was not a direct quote from James, but reported by someone else. So the title refers to another article where someone reported to us what James said. We have no actual quote from James anywhere so the title is extremely misleading. This is the worst kind of writing, just looking for page hits. The article is reporting what ANOTHER article already reported. It is paraphrasing some of it and quoting some of it. It re-titled it - with false information- to make it look like this is new information and had the nerve to title it an "update". I read the initial article, where this physical therapist said that James said that he regrets his actions on camera. But who know if James said that. It pisses me off that we live in this day and age where this type of drivel passes as an article.
  4. Very well said, Hana Chan! But the way these people carry on, they think getting the surgery is going to magically erase 400 pounds. Every single one of them says "I don't know what I'll do if Dr. Now says no to me- I will have no options then except to die". "This surgery is my only hope to save my life". It's not true. You can save your own life! They really don't understand that the surgery is only going to help a little bit with allowing them to eat less each time they eat and make them feel full. This will help over the long run so you won't have a strong hunger feeling trying to limit calories. But you still have to diet- it just makes dieting a bit easier. But the super obese don't eat because they are hungry anyway! I love when they say "when I wake up I'm starving".
  5. I guess it's because if you live long enough it eventually happens to almost everyone. My dad had it done around 78 years old and he had perfect vision his whole life. I am sure I'll need to get it too some day. I don't wear glasses or anything now. Yeah this show really sucks you in because in almost all the shows, almost all of them mess up the first time, after the initial visit. Dr. Now yells at them and then they get their shit together. Dr. Now yelled at them when they arrived in Houston because for the 4 months he was counseling him long distance he lost nothing. Then he spends 10,000 dollars of his father's money to go there and GAINS 158 pounds. He gets reamed out AGAIN and 2 months later comes back having GAINED again 3 pounds. Here is an immobile guy who continues to stuff his face. His enabler should have had the understanding of the gravity of the situation and not brought him the food- it's not so hard to believe that he would have trouble sticking to the diet and it would be very difficult for him. But the fact that she kept on bringing him shit food is indeed mind-boggling. Any functioning adult would say to him: James, we spent $10,000 that was a gift from your father to get you here, you just went into heart failure, I have to keep cleaning up your shit and piss, NO I am not bringing you Chinese food, have a plate of fish. Any RATIONAL human being gets it. Why why why could she not say no to him and put her foot down? There were SOOOOO many reasons! Yes, he is an addict, but she is bringing the addict his booze and then complaining that she has to deal with the consequences of it.
  6. I know! It looked like they had clothes piled up in the kitchen too. Lisa was eating her fast food from the couch.
  7. AND while all that is going on he says "there is no point in me dieting now. There is no sense in following the diet. The best thing to do is for me to keep eating whatever I want whenever I want to" If he had followed the diet he may well have fit in the van!
  8. I hadn't paid much attention the first time I watched it, but on the third watch I really noticed all the Ow My Leg. Also the scene where she is going to sleep in A BED. He says If I have to go to the bathroom, you won't hear me. She says "I'll hear you". Then he says "but you know I've been having trouble with my breathing" as if he is going to drop dead. Talk about laying on the guilt. So she has to sleep on the floor! It's unreal after changing his diapers and wiping his crusty sores all day she can't sleep in her bed? It pissed me off more than anything else. The first time when he gained 158 pounds, she says to Dr. Now- I SWEAR I won't bring him any more food. Then after 2 more months he gains another 3 pounds and she said "I SWEAR to you doctor, I won't bring him another thing". She already swore that the time before. Then she says "I swear he is really trying now". Probably only gained 3 pounds because he "tried" the week before the appointment. I also loved how TWICE dear old Dr. Now used "mind boggling"!! ha ha ha THIS IS MIND BOGGLING!!
  9. I know my friend's elderly dad was a WWII vet and they sent him cases of chucks as well. He needed them but they sent way too many. My friend gave them to me for use in my home where I do some dog sitting and had an elderly dog who peed the floor. I used them as doggie pee pads. Those free government chucks really came in handy for me.
  10. What you don't want to read all 28 pages?
  11. I certainly do not wish to debate this topic......lol..but.....he says Lisa I need to go the bathroom..she says Okay let me get bayley to help then she comes in with 2 clean chucks (hospital pads) and they both roll him over and shove the one clean pad under his right arse cheek then go around the other side and hoist him up and shove the other chucks under the left arse cheek..... These people must go thru so many chucks. I wonder if they pay for them or if Medicaid provides them.
  12. Thank you! So polite! I have no idea where Dr. Na is coming from. I've watched all seasons of this show. It sounds right to me too....I'm telling you late middle age is not all it's cracked up to be.
  13. I cannot believe that Elba question was a triple stumper. I thought that was Kid's tournament easy. None of the 3 knew that? Strange because the Champ seemed very knowledgeable about a lot of things. I was mad we didn't get through the B geography category. What is the capital of Columbia that starts with the Letter B? Oy vey I got FJ but I was about to guess Benedict which as it sounds a lot more Latin than John and Paul. and I got the DD of Eagles for the Spanish NFL team
  14. I'm watching again (third time) and I have a few observations. 1.It sounds like he had a GREAT childhood, he says he has great memories of having fun with his brother. He saw his mother a total of 3 times while growing up and every time she was drunk. He spoke to her for a few months before she died. Her death DEVASTATED him. I am sure we all know people who lost Loving mothers, mothers who were in their lives every day and they die- those people are devastated when that happens and they don't wind up like this. I mean he lost a mother who didn't raise him, and was a drunk, and he didn't ever see her, so really when she died his life was not changed at all. It just doesn't seem all that sad, the woman drank herself to death. She was not a part of his life. If his DAD had passed away- that would have devastating, I'm just saying. Then his next excuse was that his dad remarried and they went from middle class to poor overnight. This pissed him off. Okay. At the point when his mother died he was already hugely overweight. 2. Dr Now emailed him a 1200 calorie a day diet and explained via skype 400 calories at 3 meals. During the trauma of trying to raise money for an ambulance to Houston he says. Well we I can't get to Houston so there is no point for me to stop eating what I like, whenever I like, and as much as want. If during that time he had lost 200 pounds maybe he would have fit into the back of the van! so there was kind of a point. They showed him eating a huge mash potatoes and steak, he had 2 plates of that and then this really fattening looking pie. I just can't believe Lisa bought a pie like that and fed it to him. 3. They showed a photo of him before he broke his ankle and he already had these huge tumors and lymphodema's hanging off his legs. That was the time to take action. Jeez. 4. Why do these people say HISSELF instead of HIMSELF? Jeez 5. They roll him over, he takes a massive dump, then they have to roll him back over and pull the pad out? Who does that and where do they put the soiled pads? It looks it took of two them to roll him over.
  15. according to the newly edited GoFundMe, James is down to 730. Since they lie, I'd say he is about 770. I guess we are supposed to be impressed. Sounds like 6 months have gone by since they filmed the show and so 100 pounds in 6 months does not impress me. I don't know how they would know his weight either since Dr. NOW said dont come back until you are under 600,
  16. It seems like all the supporters were from before the show aired. He has none since the show aired. Even people say "I feel bad for you and I know its hard and all but ....lose the fucking weight already" some of the people on that gofundme comments sound like its the first time in their life they have called any one out on a web site. No it is not communicable. It is a type of STAPH- the bacteria that causes cellulitis all around us. We don't get sick from it unless we have an open wound (which is one reason we wear bandaids) or a compromised immune system, or bed bound, elderly, hospitalized over a long period, or recovering from surgery. Also at risk are people with excema -cracked skin where the bacteria can enter. My friend is in that categorywith excema all over his feet - keeps getting celluliis= and the doctor told him to always wear shoes or socks around his house.
  17. Ha, I just looked at a few of my posts and I am calling Dr. Now, Dr. NA- I have NO idea why. It comes to my head now as Dr. Na and I have to think to change it to NOW. I know his name is Nowzardin. The 3rd gofundme was deleted, most likely by Gofundme because it was a duplicate of the first one. It looks like Lisa took down the 2nd one, the transportation one. Now the first has that disgusting photo and was put up way before they were on the show, when they collected the $459. The third one, put up after the show, claimed he has thryroid issues. It got at least 19 mean comments and not one penny donated and then vanished. I know a lot of people reported it to GoFundMe. The first one, with the gross picture, has now been edited. The original drivel has been deleted and it just says James is now down to 730. I guess we are supposed to be impressed. Sounds like 6 months have gone by since they filmed the show and so 100 pounds in 6 months does not impress me. I don't know how they would know his weight either since Dr. NOW said dont come back until you are under 600,
  18. Yeah but he can't open the door to let the delivery people in, nor reach for his wallet to pay them. I also noticed on the show he said "ive been in this bed almost 4 years now" then to Dr Now he said "Ive been in bed 2 years" so he did lie according to who he was talking to, where he would get he most sympathy. he didnt want Dr Now to realize he'd not done a fucking thing in 4 years about his problem.
  19. I googled Lisa and found her profile on maybe instagram or some other site. It was written a year ago. In her profile she says "I have 2 children, both in High School" so a year ago Bailey was in High School. It sounds like she was pulled out of Senior year of High School, not college.
  20. I think TLC owes these people a whole lot more resources. I can't find the other quote along these same lines. It was saying they are not helping these patients because it doesn't make for good ratings. However, the people on the show get the same resources that patients not on the show get. Except they don't have to pay for it. If there were not successes with Dr Na's methods and Dr. Na's patients, then why is he considered so great? Why are people moving their whole lives to live near his office? My point is everyone on the show is getting the support and help they need to follow the program, just like those not on the show. TLC is not interfering with the outcome by withholding services from the patients to improve ratings. . Last year everyone in here was sure they were not even given a diet. But now we see they are given a diet and a nutrition consult. So many posts were "They are not even given a diet to follow"......There is probably a nutrition help line they can call- who knows? We don't see the papers and consults that they get. But Dr. Na's PROGRAM WORKS for those that do what he says. If a patient can't make it work it is not the fault of TLC. They are not trying to get the people to fail. In fact, when Lisa's car broke down, I am sure a member of the crew would have driven her to the grocery store if she'd only asked. They have more support than people who just move to Texas on their own without TLC. We don't see everything. We see 90 seconds with Dr. Na. They are probably in his office for 2 hours or more.
  21. Claims she needs money for medical equipment. "medical supplies, treatments, and anything that will help him stay in Texas". For one thing they are staying in Texas no matter what because he can't go anywhere else without a $10,000 ambulance ride. He is stuck there. He doesn't need anymore money to 'stay" there or live there than living anywhere else. It would help if she showed a photo of the equipment she was trying to buy and how much it costs. It's so vague. It sounds like she might be trying to buy a forklift to help turn him over.
  22. Welcome! I also loved Cesar Millan on South Park..OMG funniest thing ever! when they wouldn't give him the fried chicken! Gordon Ramsey would curse him out and then cook him up a freshly butchered farm raised pig-this is what you should eat not oscar meyer fucking baloney you worthless pc of shit. Dr. Phil would be useless as usual....
  23. I figure she hopes to get a few people to throw them a total $50 so they can order out Chinese tonight.
  24. she deleted the transportation one and started this new one. He has seen plenty of doctors before Dr. Now. He was in a hospital in KY for 3 months. There were also tons of perscription medications on his bedside table before he went to Dr. Now. Doctors have tried to help him but he is beyond help. I love the empty bottle of Dr. Pepper in the photo on the side of his bed! Only drinks water, has a thyroid condition! I see she deleted the one negative comment that popped up this morning.
