Why? I think merklinkid was being sarcastic. Though I'll have to get highlights or catch as much as possible through RedZone, it'll be interesting for me. I don't imagine Teddy will do much, but maybe he could. It'll be interesting to see what Tom and Tampa can do. They'll be facing a far more inferior foe than in the past week

I probably would've said it was a bad idea for Lauer if I commented on that in 2014! I don't have a problem with Ken Jennings; however I totally get how he can turn people off. I think I will definitely be passing on Jeopardy as well if Ken succeeds Trebek. However, the bigger reason for me is not due to the person; I would skip if anyone succeeded Alex. That's going to happen but it isn't easy to tune into a show after the face of the show that's been that for over 30 years exits, and then right away we're dealing with somebody new. Personally it was the same situation for The Price is Right. While I said I wouldn't watch post Alex Trebek, like with TPIR, that's subject to change given time and the success of a show after a legend departs. I'm with MoreCoffeePlease in that Brad Rutter would be a better fit than Jennings

Oh I see. Sounds like they did offer it again, but over the series it would've gone against tradition. Whenever a prize is won (excluding cash) that prize is off the table. On a related note.... It depends on how many cars are offered for the end game, but they definitely have more than one envelope for the same automobile. So it could be six for one of two vehicles, or three of the same car if four are offered. The other 50% of the prizes are cash prizes

Stanley Cup Finals start tonight. Not that we wanted it, but having all the sports occurring at the same time period is rather neat. Usually used to watching the NBA wrap up with hockey (which is still is in a sense), but not having football (pro & college) do business around Hockey's wrap up. Nevertheless, it could be a great series between the Lightning and the Stars. I'm rooting for Tampa Bay, of course, but Dallas is a very good team. They were doing well before everything was shutdown. Both teams are good, really; they do have their flaws. However I think the Stars will win their first cup in over 20 years, but not before losing three of their first four games (winning one of their first three though)

At least he got his ring. I wish him well, nevertheless

Probably not if Peter King had a say on who's included on it

I'm not sure what your local affiliate is, but for me, this has happened in the past. However, my local news was the one to break-into Wheel of Fortune (or Jeopardy) as it's syndicated. The network news would've waited until 8 PM EST (within the 8-11 window before the 11:00 local news). On the other end, local news would interrupt national programming if there was breaking news within the area in which one resides. Missed the show entirely, anyway, though it sounds like you didn't miss much. I think the chances are rather expansive for that BMW, BTW

Yeah, it doesn’t appear that a ratings slide will happen anytime soon. Not to mention that he would more than get a pass given the pandemic. Overall I don’t have a problem with Harvey. I actually admire him, but I agree that the act is old. Typically as time goes on the success is less likely to continue. Therefore, the only way we’d see an end to the Harvey era, IMO, is when Steve is ready to exit (barring something off of the show that would result in his departure). My issue with Celebrity Family Feud is the same as for the regular version: the gameplay. Too many NSFW and unnecessary questions! Maybe one or two of those, but that’s it. More important is the structure for an hour show. Given the comedy within the show, I guess there isn’t too much time for actual questions. It isn't impossible to do better with an hour-long Family Feud

Mostly, I think it's because they have very little recovery time for such a brutal sport. Yet another example of someone or the league taking a rare/good thing and running it into the ground. Pretty much pictured this in 2006. Similar to the other AFC North teams when they played in 2014, the good news for the Ohio teams is that it's very early with their annual Thursday game done for the year. It is sorta hypocritical that a player isn't allowed to play whether he wants to or not following a concussion, especially if the following game is a Thursday. Though it's almost unlikely that they'd recover in seven days anyway

Well-put. People will say that Belichick isn't as good because of what he did in Cleveland. The thing is that he turned it around, and sorta got unlucky due to non-field nonsense. That was Bill's first stint as a head couch. The guy still did very well as a defensive coach; he was part of every coaching staff Parcells had when you talk about Bill Parcells' playoff victories. With Brady, he didn't coach the defense, though he was a leader to those guys, a great motivator. I totally admire Tom's work ethic. Went from not much to the best football player ever. During those 20 years, he kept improving and got ready for the whatever was next (though so has Bill). Reminds me of Ryu from Street Fighter, except Brady celebrated his titles upon winning them. The good news for Tom is that it's one game, a tough loss to the best team within that division in their place. The thing Belichick has more than Brady is more time to do what he's done best in 20 years

Future years. I'm not a fan of the concept, but if a lottery becomes the norm, I could see a scenario where it's non-exclusive to teams missing the playoffs. The odds for the best teams would, or should be very low, but I don't think I'd be shocked if a powerhouse somehow won a lottery
-
If Manfred is involved, the MLB lottery would include a stipulation that allows for anybody to get the number one overall pick. The 10 worst teams would have the best shot, but I can see Rob saying, "If that many teams can acquire the best player, or players, then it only makes sense if the other 20 teams get a shot at it!" That means the Cubs, Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc could actually win the pennant while drafting first overall. IMO, that's how I see it playing out in Major League Baseball

It might be worth the laugh if they did pump in crowd noise (laughs & applause) to best fit Steve's routine. IMO, it'll be even funnier if they accidentally filmed where the audience sits. To be serious, I think a handful of people, specifically family members should be allowed. Or could be allowed. Not too much, but if there are restrictions and guidelines, then there's nothing anyone can do about it Family Feud did not begin its 22nd season in my area. Unless it did in other parts of the country, maybe those episodes are being held back a week or two, if not indefinitely. There could be a local argument that it didn’t start on 09/14 due to football, but I checked my listings and I did not see mention of the new season. In fact, I’m getting 2019 episodes (albeit rather great episodes)

I believe it was a couple of years, maybe three. So based on the regular timeline I think they've got until the end of 2022 to use it. As mentioned, I hope the ability to claim one’s trips is extended beyond 2022 or whenever. Maybe make it indefinite (or permanent). Sure, there may be a vaccine by then, but it typically takes several years before there’s complete trust and normalcy. I think the fastest turnaround was about 4 years. I hope we can get close to normal sooner at the very least. Yeah, I agree. I can do without travelling with someone I don't know. I might be a little more bold as the months go by, but still cautious. I haven't traveled in the air all year, so I don't know what the restrictions are. I'd think social distancing would be more than imperative on a flight, especially given the fact that several are scared of travelling right now. I'd still be cautious, but more for others than for myself

That's the thing. It's one week. Sure it might make the difference in the end, though at least most times other factors lead to a teams placement after all is said and done. It might take until November 5-9 which is the mid-point of the season for teams to figure out everything and stay fit for NFL football. Personally, my concern is more than the lack of pre-season games, off-season workouts, and watered down training camp, leading to a watered down product. The Giants did not look great last night, but the team that beat them wasted no time losing players due to injury. That could have a domino effect throughout the season
-
It's still fairly early. Pittsburgh has an annual tradition of losing to teams it has no business of losing to
-
And the Browns continue to suck while the Pats continue to win no matter what the situations are. Based on yesterday, looks like Cleveland is in mid-season form as it relates to their efforts to acquire Trevor Lawrence. Meanwhile, if New England somehow gets the Clemson star, they'll do so in a different way

I didn't have a problem with it. I think Al & Cris are very much aware that so many people are struggling, from loss of income to loss of necessities, and from a loss of assets to a loss of life. Maybe not ranting about it over and over again would have been respectful during this period, but I was okay with it. Pat Mahomes got paid, and they have a job to do. It's a pattern to acknowledge that in addition to the whole picture. Al & Cris have done that and similar stuff over the years. Yes where in a pandemic, but I figured they needed to go about their lives. It's business as usual. That's just me; I was okay with it under normal circumstances, probably due to the fact that I'm more concerned with my own wealth than that of the stars. Speaking of "The Best Team" I think they did quarantine well enough to be less than 6 feet apart. I probably would've still followed proper protocols, though given every location, they're not all the same
-
Though we might not know how it begins! The NFL typically has the champion host a team that it beat in the postseason round (several times in the same place) the year before. It's rather amazing how the schedule works out that way more often than not
-
No I don't think so. Doesn't help that he came from Carolina, though I guess it might in terms of how to survive and deal with WP nonsense
-
No titles for Carolina with Jerry Richardson running thing for about a quarter of a century. However, he has had some success during that period. Really at least one trip to the NFC Title game in each decade. Plus, Jerry's played the game With Dan Snyder, yeah, he can go. While it isn't great to "wish" for someone to lose his or her job or position, it would be kinda sad if he stuck around. Unfortunately with so much going on he might sneak into next year, and possibly, that might be enough to survive indefinitely. It's too soon to tell though, and the sponsors might hold the cards again with this case
-
One of those things that occur where I'd say "The league is scripted" It isn't; I'd bet that as it's a sad coincidence. Sucks for Dame. Looks like the Lakers will be the team to knock off the Lakers in the West; the two teams I thought would threaten LeBron & AD's team are pretty much not that (Clippers & Portland). Though I can't say I'd be shocked if Dallas ends up being that team
-
They totally should, catlover. However, I probably wouldn't bet on it happening to the Cards. That team is pretty much a blue-blood; they are a big deal with Baseball. With the Marlins, it's a different story. The league would actually have an argument, IMO. St. Louis totally broke the rules after the fact, though they didn't try to go forward and infect other teams. Miami knew they had it but didn't care. That's right. It's amazing how they survived after that. The thing with the Buccos was that they lost games due to the fact that two consecutive teams had a positive test. Just happened to be back-to-back series with St. Louis Monday-Wednesday, and then Cincinnati.
-
Totally sucks that Cincy feel victim to Covid. On a related note, with the talk of St. Louis not having played any games in quite a long time, it might get to a point where a team will go a week or two without playing any games through no fault of their own. For instance, Pittsburgh was inactive earlier in the week due to Cardinals games being postponed. Now they've lost a weekend due to the Reds. The Buccos are awful, but man that has to suck when playoff positions are determined based off of % when a team might not play 60 games
-
I probably would've opted out if I knew that I wasn't getting an automatic postseason pass for going undefeated for nothing
