  1. While Kliff is doing well & has Arizona rising to the occasion, The Cards sorta have to call his bluff here. It might work & Kingsbury gets a raise. However, they still need to do something in the postseason to warrant that. FWIW, it's a good fit in Oklahoma, but maybe in a couple years, if the Sooners position is available & the Cardinals have a significant setback, he could return here. In the meantime, I don't see how he's leaving to go back to college in 2022, even at Oklahoma. Especially when they can't be super dominant in the Big XII during their final years before the almighty SEC

I have to admit: I don't have a problem with Romo. That being said, it's not Thanksgiving until the Cowboys get their hearts broken TO be honest: Vegas' win was perfect, because it's the 28th anniversary of Leon Lett II. Not sure it'll mean Dallas winning the superbowl (over Buffalo), but it's been that long, AND on 11/25/1993

  4. It's basically official: Unless the Bearcats lose, the committee will include a non-Power Five team into the College Football Playoff. On a related note, Georgia is more than a two possession favorite if the link to the rankings below are the final rankings The Fourth College Football Playoff Rankings Edited to add a much cleaner list compared to last week. FYI: The latest rankings include Ohio State & Alabama swapping places, Baylor into the Top Ten, and Michigan State & Oregon falling from the Top 10. To correspond, Ole Miss & Oklahoma slid into the Top X rankings, and Wake Forest slid out of it

We're Bucs fans and we're tired of the constant attention on Brady too! I'm really disliking all of the animated stuff of him. It's kind of creepy! Argh, one of our best players left the game injured. This doesn't bode well for the Bucs. So much for Mac Jones getting his first title on the first try to give New England the outright SB record over the guy that started the winning culture of the Patriots!

Big Ben is pretty much done. Whatever he was on the field, as in the great parts, ain't coming back. That being said, he did pretty well on SNF for someone coming off of Covid and not practicing at all. I guess it's still possible that Roethlisberger returns in 2022, and I say this because it's become obvious & official that the Steelers are dead if things come down to Mason Ruldolph & Dwayne Haskins. Pittsburgh's loss was rather painful, but the fact is that they were destined to lose anyway. Had Mason or Haskins played, Los Angeles wins going away. OTOH, we'll never know what would've happened if Watt, Haden, and/or Minka were available. To be fair, their lack of availability is not the Chargers problem. After all, everyone has had to deal with injuries and the lack of one's availability. Despite who he is, I have to admit that it wasn't great to see Ben crushed big time at the end. Though I'm glad that Bosa was the one to do it. The guy is a football player through & through; ready for the pros well before it was his time. Anytime he makes a move, there's at least an ounce of positivity in the world

It's "meh" for me as it relates to New England. I did actually pick them to win the AFC East. Chances are it'll be Buffalo, but it was a combination of "everyone" picking the Bills and the fact that the Patriots were mainly bad due to the fleet of opt-outs in 2020. We'll see if they can win it all, but we might get an idea from how they fare against the 2020 AFC East winners, Tennessee, and Miami in a road game in South Beach
  8. The 3rd CFB Playoff Rankings remain the same within the Top Seven, with everyone in the Top 12 of last week's rankings moving up to replace Oklahoma & Texas A&M Looks like I was unable to post a list that has just the Top 25, but you can get all of the info from the main site or Twitter account for the CFB Playoff
  9. Same here. Even though Notre Dame is a better draw, and probably beats Cincy 8 times out of 10, that would crush the Playoff Committee's reputation forever. They'll be all calm & state that ND is the more complete team. If that's the case, why play the games? BTW, I will not be shocked if this were to occur; FWIW, if ND keeps winning I wouldn't be surprised if ND is ranked over Cincinnati in the penultimate rankings slated to be released on November 30. Of course, it's a moot point if one or both of two things happen: Cincy loses or Georgia loses on December 4 while Alabama, Oregon, and Ohio State win out prior to and including the SEC Title Game, the Pac-12 Title Game, and the Big 10 Title Game, respectively. I didn't forget Oklahoma State; I didn't mention them since I can't see them beating Oklahoma twice

Maybe we'll get pissed off Al Michaels instead to indicate a possible bad beat on a bet he might have made. Peyton & Eli sans the guests would be great, I agree. Not sure I'd watch it for the entire game (unless there's a game with a 45-3 final score). I'd miss it entirely since I usually have the TV on mute as I'm still a Westwood One guy for Monday Night Football

Perfect. Plus it's a fact! I do wish that they players would interrupt the officials, saying, "Dude, we know the rules. Shut up and get on with it." After all, the officials are awful at explaining tons of other stuff. To be fair, the pathetic performance from both Pittsburgh & Detroit was just that, to where I think the officials needed to explain the rules to both parties

Traditional Raiders garbage! Looks like the Chiefs are back to being the Chiefs again. For now. I probably have to wait a couple of week to see what Kansas City does. Ditto with New England. I think they might be more than alright, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get stomped twice as hard if they ran into Baltimore, and to a greater extent, Tennessee

The president of my company has often said/advised that you should never do or say anything in the privacy of your own home that would get you fired or killed in public if it were done or said in public. Yes you have a right to say whatever, and while people should get thicker skin, it doesn't make it right. Plus, a company, business, or corporation has the right to determine one's fate in their organization (especially if there's reason to do so). Despite enjoying Jon Gruden's tenure on ESPN, it's great that he's out of the league. I don't know or think he'll win, but IMO, it'll be a moral one if he can bring everyone down with him. I don't know or think most of the higher ups were as bad as Jon was, but if it's enough to get them out of the NFL, then it would be fair enough if they met their demise. I've often said that the NFL was scripted, but really it's more coincidental. OBJ turned out to be a necessity, but he also has his injury problems. Nonetheless, I no longer thing the Rams are in a Superbowl or bust mode as I don't think they'll be the ultimate favorites. Really, the AFC could be deep enough that the AFC winner could crush the NFC winner on February 13

What's different between Miami and most of the rest of the league is that the Dolphins have the people to play that kind of defense and limit Lamar. Cleveland might. I don't know if it's at Miami's level (really the Dolphins 2020 level), but I imagine that Harbaugh, Jackson, and company will adjust

Meh. Though it's fair enough. Rams are trying to win this season, period. I figured he'd go to a team that's led by someone that will not take any nonsense (i.e. Patriots, Saints, Chiefs). Though I may be underestimating McVay as he can be no nonsense as well. Plus, Aaron Donald isn't going to be having someone wreck the chemistry there

So I went from "loving" Aaron to "hating" him to "not giving a damn" about Rodgers. In other words, meh. It's a shame that this the way he is, but it is still his right. Eventually, I hope, this will vanish. Though it might resurface based on where Green Bay finishes in the standings and in the off season. As mentioned, the way discipline is handled is totally random. While everyone on the outside was saying how he could've endangered people, looks like it wasn't a surprise to those close to Rodgers, and everyone will be alright (even if they tested positive). As far as the fines go, that's the way it's been forever (in terms of different amounts & lesser amounts for greater violations). The thing that's BS, as mentioned, is the fact that Aaron got off rather easy, whereas Brady did not. Furthermore, Tom actually went the legal route and won. Yet he folded the following year when the NFL went to Plan B, with the consolation prize being yet another superbowl title. I guess TB12's penalty was within the game and Aaron's was outside of it. Though the latter basically did something that would get most of everyone else in a heap of trouble

This Ruggs character isn't going to be executed, I don't think. Maybe I'll be proven wrong and Nevada opts to kill him for his crimes. I don't celebrate anyone's death, good or evil. In this instance, if that's the best justice for him, then I'd be okay with it. I wouldn't lose sleep over it because what this young man did was inexcusable on all levels. Based on the laws, the death penalty will not be on the table, nor will life in prison. Though based on the nature of everything, it is possible he doesn't get out of prison alive. Despite the intent to drink coupled with the intent to drive, it's not murder. Many have coined that term, and that is totally fine. Ruggs isn't getting charged for that. However, the multiple charges and issues against him are not good (over twice the legal limit, over 100 MPH driving, two deaths). So whatever time he could have served could get multiplied. All that is without the civil suit. IMO, I think he'll die in jail if the book get thrown at him. The kid for one doesn't have the funds or cash that Donte Stallworth had. Speaking of which, I thought of Stallworth, and I was actually dumb enough to try to look for a comparison between the two. Yeah, no; there's no comparison. That's short of a DUI resulting in death. There have been questions that Donte may have been jobbed, but unlike Ruggs, Donte owned up & took responsibility when he likely had a chance to win. Regardless of what the victim did then that was illegal, the former NFL star still took a life, and the regret was there. Speaking of regret, I don't think we'll ever see that from Aaron Rodgers. If you ask Florio he'd rank this as worse than that Ruggs did. Mike didn't; just based off of his Twitter post. Those two are definitely not comparable; Rodgers technically did endanger other people, but at the end of the day, or in a year's time: people will forget about Aaron's violations toward COVID, whereas in a year's time: people will forget about Ruggs as an actual human being

Forget the fact that we're missing out on Rodgers vs. Mahomes again. Aaron could be in a ton of trouble with the league (as mentioned by Florio). He won't, but what's happened is grounds for discipline. I guess we'll see. There's the crime, and then there's the cover up. Plus, his actions could've led to an outbreak, where the other team could get nailed through no fault of their own
  23. Carey

    NFL Thread

That is so heartbreaking. Earlier on, it looked like Mahomes would miss due to his injury at Tennessee & that we'd miss out on something that was only possible due to 17 games. Totally forgot about the possibility of him catching Covid. OTOH, if he's not vaccinated, then I can't lose sleep over it. Sucks we won't get to see Rodgers vs Mahomes ever, but IMO, it would've been an overrated game since Kansas City is not as dominant this year ETA: Ruggs can go to hell. Straight to hell. Period

The series wasn't great over all; to be honest, it was awful. To be fair, however, there was an ounce of competition. The Astros had their moments on offense, while Atlanta had their defensive moments, especially in Game 6. When Atlanta turned hot offensively, it was pretty much curtains for Houston
