  1. My impression was that the wife was in her mid-30's and knew her bio clock was ticking. She obviously comes from a wealthy family and wanted to marry. The pickin's for a husband in the booming Tampa/St. Pete area are, apparently thin. Her dominance in the relationship was easy to spot and when they kept portraying him as "in construction" I was wondering whether he is gainfully employed OR simply worked construction jobs in that past and knows the field. Other than his trade skills (that he may or may not have), his overall demeanor and personality seemed summarized by her snarky remark: "He's easy going like driving 25 mph in the left lane). I think the family is delighted by her marital status and was more than happy to agree with the final selling price for Grandpa's house. I noted that they referred to them as "newlyweds"; however, never showed a picture of the blissful bride&groom on their big day as they usually do (for whatever reason). If I were the husband, I would keep a detailed list of whatever professional services I was rendering on this massive reno job because if, or when, she dumps him in the future, his lawyer would have tools he/she will need to ask the Court for reimbursement as part of any divorce decree. I will reserve any comments about future children that she seemed intent on having ASAP on that basis.
  2. I note that TLC still uses subtitles for most of Jackson's remarks and comments. Although he has a good vocabulary and uses idiomatic English well, complete with current expressions, like DUDE (used constantly by the family) I still can't make "heads or tails" out of a lot of his words and phrases. I think he could benefit from some professional speech therapy, as well as Lilah.
  3. They just bought a near $1 million house and both parents are generously compensated for their TV work so, from what you're suggesting, their financial status wouldn't preclude free special ed services??
  4. Funny you should mention that fact but not spending $$$$ for outside professional help for Lilah (when Tori has THE TOOLS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN HER BACK POCKET) did enter my mind AS RIDICULOUS AS THAT SOUNDS!! Who knows what their insurance covers, and let's not forget that one of them (Tori, probably) would have to carve time out of her otherwise "busy" schedule (let's not forget all the shilling she does on Instagram) that has to be coordinated with the other 2 kids needs and schedules. Then, of course, there would be "follow up" work that the speech therapist would assign after the professional session is over that Z&T would have to provide. I only see Zach "having time" for his numerous DYI projects around the property that he does in his own time. BOTTOM LINE: When I see Lilah, I see a little toddler who seems lost, confused, frustrated and irritated...a little girl who receives VERY LITTLE emotional support from the rest of the family. I also see a fair amt of rejection and "shaming" that raises a lot of red flags with me!
  5. Hard as I try, I will NEVER be able to explain the answer to your question. Chris seems like a regular nice-looking guy who had(s) a successful career and did quite well in the financial and relationship depts. Amy, on the other hand, has MANY issues from YEARS in a troubled marriage, little in the "looks" or personality dept and has children whom, themselves, present challenges. That Chris never married and had children was, surely, by choice. Apparently, Amy connects with him emotionally in ways he needs and wants and cannot be explained.
  6. I completely agree with you. I think it would be great for Tori to supplement the plan designed by a qualified professional to deal with Lilah's delayed speech that is serious, but not undertake the task herself. Now that you revealed that the financial aspect of this therapy is usually taken care of by the district, I can't think of any other reason to decline such a valuable service. I recall that on "The Little Couple" show the Klein's showed how their children benefitted from professional intervention for their impaired speech.
  7. Yes, I just watched it and think it's amazing that he actually got paroled due to some recent MO law that his lawyers accessed to get him out of there. When they were wrapping up the episode they said that the prosecutor who was more sympathetic to his plight lost his election and that the MO AG who was not was re-elected. Therefore, inasmuch as he is out of prison, has a job, a driver's license and is functioning lawfully in society, I really don't see the State spending the resources to exonerate him. It's not impossible, but seems unlikely to me. I'm not sure how long he'll be on parole and, of course, is still a convicted felon in the eyes of the law. His best shot at exoneration is if his lawyers can convince a judge to hear all their "new evidence" that casts doubt on his conviction and the judge ordering a new trial. Then, the prosecutor might simply decide that too much time has elapsed for the State to reasonably assume they could make a case beyond a reasonable doubt, and dismiss it.
  8. It would seem so because going through all those wardrobe changes and choosing the backgrounds would be a lot of time and energy. I wonder who produces her site and who picks out the clothes. I also wonder if she's selling a lot of what she's modelling? You can say a lot of things about Tori but no one can fault her for trying to wrangle every buck she can out of her TV "celebrity" status.
  9. All of the kids, with the exception of Zach (including Molly) refuse to appear on the show. Jacob works with Matt on the farm (a paycheck) but refuses to appear on camera. Jeremy, we already know, has some online gig with Auj that apparently pays the bills on their large new farm. Jacob and Jeremy are average sized and have average-sized children so their appearance on the show would be worthless in promoting the LPBW "brand." Molly has no children but is average sized It's only Zach and Tori with their 3 dwarf children that keep the show alive as I don't see enough dramatic content with Matt, Amy and their average-sized partner/spouse to capture an viewing audience. My belief is that the show will eventually fade into oblivion although I admit that there are scenes with the 3 Z&T children that are interesting to watch and grab my attention.
  10. I'm sure they have a very capable investment team (probably recommended by Matt before everything hit the fan) who are providing them with lifetime financial security. Lest we forget, Zach has been "tap dancing" to participate in the show for over 20 YEARS. Tori has been doing the same for about 7 years, and I'm sure the kids are also compensated for their appearances on the show. My question is how much $$$ Tori makes from shilling all the merchandise from different vendors that she splashes all over Instagram??? Maybe someone knows how those deals with "influencers" like Tori pay? I would say that THE MOST CRUCIAL expenditure Tori could make with all her extra Instagram cash is to hire HOUSEHOLD CLEANING HELP, although perhaps they've already done that. I noticed that in the most recent posts and episodes from the show their home doesn't resemble "Hoarders" as much as it used to in the past. I noticed the areas are "picked up" and, I HOPE, cleaned.
  11. Every time I see Lilah my heart really goes out to her! She seems lost and confused I did see ONE Instagram post from Tori last summer, when she, her mother and Amy filmed a scene at a Tea Room with Lilah (Tori's instagram posts always foreshadow episodes of the show) when Lilah actually was made the center of attention. She had a genuine look of happiness on her face. Unfortunately, for too much of the time, Lilah seems like an "after thought" to her parents when compared to the time and praise they heap on her 2 brothers.
  12. I thought the 3 houses they were shown were among the nicest I've ever seen in that price range anywhere in the Country. Thought it was fitting that these 2 military retirees were getting their dream home after so many years of honorably serving their Country.
  13. True, but kids usually do better in life when they're taught to be respectful of property, be it theirs or other peoples. It's a small thing, but it reflects a certain attitude that T&Z might want to reconsider.
  14. Agreed!! When and where is it ever OK to litter? Families usually have a litter bag whenever they go anywhere with their children. When Jackson said he'd throw the stick on the ground, I said to myself: "HUH??? Where'd he get that idea? "
  15. I think that Zach (and Tori) feel "entitled" to extra $$$ compensation in various aspects of their lives because of Zach's unique status as a "little person." When you come to think of it, Zach and only Zach bore the brunt of being a "little person" and he has 3 "little people" children. The other members of the family are ALL average size. Even Matt and Amy's partners (spouse) are average size. The fact that none of the other Roloff children have anything to do with filming the show bears out the fact that viewers tune into the show to focus on how "little people" navigate various life situations. The show is their major source of $$$. Zach, and he alone, has suffered the medical procedures and the emotional scars of being physically "different". As Amy and Matt settle into late middle age and their value to the story lines recede, Zach and Tori may believe that they hold the "keys to the $$$ kingdom of the show" as Amy indicated. I don't think that Zach and Tori have any other way to earn a living and with their very young children offering endless possibilities for story lines, I think they believe that should be translated into an actual financial advantage. The sale of the farm to Zach, and the family dynamics between Zach and Matt, therefore, might just be a backdrop to the other story lines Zach, Tori and their children provide.
  16. I agree. I actually was interested in last night's episode.
  17. I say the same. I recalled both couples and the houses they bought. I wonder what's going on with the show???
  18. I agree with that statement 100%. Mention was made some time ago that Nate had a professional job in IT and did well financially irrespective of his "day trader" activities. To me, Nate is not professionally established to the point where he is generating income that, ESPECIALLY in the very pricey San Diego market, would make the $$$ he received from appearing on MAFS unappealing. I never had any pretentions that he and Stacia would work out long term. IMO, one of the biggest barriers to success in the marriage was the income disparity between both of them and her need to "control." From what I recall, Nate had a very active social life prior to the show where he could "move and groove" in various ways that he enjoyed with people who liked and admired him.
  19. I thought they could have shared that Ken had passed away but attributed it to an alternative cause. Burdening the father with his son's murder seemed too harsh to me.
  20. I thought that was absolutely AMAZING! And that she had the stamina and "wits" to testify at a trial and was articulate and energetic was beyond inspirational. One would think a trauma like she suffered would be enough to hamper her longevity; however, she apparently was resilient enough to survive. I couldn't believe that they shared such horrible news with the father who was in a nursing home. Why was that necessary? I didn't understand. Maybe someone can explain that decision to me.
  21. If he "lightened up" he wouldn't be Mitch. I don't think he wants to "lighten up" and I don't think he will ever "lighten up." If this "experiment" taught him anything (IMO) it was that he is "wedded" to his lifestyle that he loves and enjoys and there is nothing a "marriage" (to a stranger or otherwise) could provide him that he would prize over what he prizes just being himself. Not everyone is "marriage material.." There's nothing in any manual that dictates that a person like Mitch who strikes me as being "eccentric" should change in any way to achieve happiness in life.
  22. I don't think they have too many applicants regardless of how they portray the hoards of potential participants. After all these years, "normal" people are probably disinterested in subjecting themselves to the loss of privacy from this "circus" of souped-up dramas and/or can't fit the filming into their lifestyles and/or work schedules. It also occurred to me that the institution of "marriage", per se, seems to be losing its allure for many folks and couples who chose to marry may prefer doing so in more traditional manner. I think what we're seeing is the best they can come up with to cast the show. That's why it's failing.
  23. I agree that it's entertaining to watch Jackson in his everyday life; however, I still can't understand a word he says without the "closed captioning." Of course, Lilah is very cute, too, but has very limited language ability. Is that a typical trait of dwarfism? I recall that the Klein kids, Zoey and Will, in "The Little Couple" also had language difficulties but steps were taken to give them speech therapy. The show was cancelled so I don't know how well they are communicating verbally now.
  24. I deference to my "upbringing", LOL,😄 I will refrain from saying what almost popped out of my mouth but I bet someone here is thinking the same thing I am😉
