  1. I noted that the first jury voted 8-4 to CONVICT. The second jury voted 8-4 to ACQUIT. Having worked in criminal defense for MANY years, I can say that from my experience, the State will likely revamp their presentation in the 3rd trial and try not to continue the slide from guilty to not guilty on the next jury's part. I will also add, that from my experience, if AJ is acquitted after a 3rd trial, I wouldn't expect the State to commence an all-out investigation into who killed A.J.'s parents. Sad but true.....
  2. I thought the most compelling evidence the prosecution presented was AJ's phone usage that showed no usage during the commission of the crime and a black screen during the commission of the crime that they said acted as a flashlight for AJ to navigate the dark upstairs where his parents were sleeping. I also learned in the brief snippet at the end that the prosecutor repeated all the privileges and rewards AJ's parents deprived him of due to poor grades and other negative behaviors, like drug use, prior to the crime just prior to the crimes. That included his car! AJ seemed like a good kid who couldn't possibly have committed such a heinous crime. HOWEVER, he was only 16 and such aberrant behavior, under the circumstances of his seemingly deteriorating lifestyle situation, might have caused his adolescent brain to act in this horrendous way. I am curious regarding AJ's financial situation after the death of his parents as that might explain who's paying for his presumably high-priced lawyers who have provided him with such an exemplary defense in what will be 3 trials!!
  3. He's a "slug"....absolutely, positively, little to no possibility of him ever earning a living on a steady, reliable and continuing basis
  4. Add me to the club. I can't see any reasonable scenario where the Roloff's would have any additional story lines interesting enough to share with an audience on national TV. I also believe that ZiT's kids would be FAR better off not having producers and cameras around to create dramatic story lines that essentially distort their reality. The 3 kids would surely benefit from living a spontaneous life with their parents and extended family without constant judging and commenting from the TV public. Tori would still retain her "influencer" status on social media that would generate some cash, and, hopefully they have investments and other savings to sustain them financially until their children are much older.
  5. The thing that stuck out at me about him was that I couldn't understand much of what he said because he spoke so fast....AND....both of them made reference to her "bossy" ways and that he "couldn't get a word in edgewise." Going into a home purchase together screams out the words "WARNING: TROUBLE AHEAD!!"
  6. I was thinking that exact same thing when I saw an Instagram post from her this morning asking Lilah to say the name of some disney character whose night shirt she was wearing. Lilah grunted some unintelligible sound that Tori immediately chimed in to say without the slightest hesitation, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the child has a MAJOR speech problem that needs IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!!!
  7. Who did she wind of marrying? I recall she made a big "play" for her assigned "husband" (believe his name was Will???) on the show but no matter what she did to entice him, he wasn't interested.
  8. On that note, I wonder what Matt and the rest of the family (as well as Chris and Caryn) make per episode for the show? I'm sure their contracts have sweetened considerably through the numerous years of production, It occurred to me that the show is probably their main source of income and I'm sure savvy financial advisors invested part of their income into investments. Over the years (some better than others) those investments likely have produced a substantial nest egg that they may draw from irrespective of their real estate. My belief is that "pumpkin season" doesn't produce a lot of profit for the family. Over all, I think Matt and Amy, in particular, are well off financially for now and into the future. However, as with many people, there are those that, regardless of how many others may think their finances are adequate for retirement, they are always looking over the financial horizon with insecurity.
  9. RIGHT! And....let's not forget he's been paid to do that "job" for about 20 years, so, presumably all that $$$ has been invested wisely throughout the years. Tori has also been paid (along with the kids, I believe) for about 10 yrs so that's her main source of income, although she must have significant additional income from her "side hustle" on Instagram. Zach does his DIY projects on his pseudo "farm" (like that bridge he completed) and, from what I see of their dynamics, he considers himself "gainfully employed" and the financial "superior" of Tori. I noticed that where once she kept Zach tied to her "apron strings" and "ran the domestic show" with the actuality of raising their 3 dwarf children, Tori has succumbed to a sort of emotional state of "malaise". I don't think either of them contemplated what raising their children (so close in age and special needs) would do to their marriage; however, with Tori shilling merchandise and posting on Instagram constantly plus filming, the apparent lack of household help is noteworthy. I do not see Zach changing in any significant way and that would include loosening up his "tightness with the dollar" and denying Tori his "OK" to get the household help they need.
  10. My impression was that the wife was in her mid-30's and knew her bio clock was ticking. She obviously comes from a wealthy family and wanted to marry. The pickin's for a husband in the booming Tampa/St. Pete area are, apparently thin. Her dominance in the relationship was easy to spot and when they kept portraying him as "in construction" I was wondering whether he is gainfully employed OR simply worked construction jobs in that past and knows the field. Other than his trade skills (that he may or may not have), his overall demeanor and personality seemed summarized by her snarky remark: "He's easy going like driving 25 mph in the left lane). I think the family is delighted by her marital status and was more than happy to agree with the final selling price for Grandpa's house. I noted that they referred to them as "newlyweds"; however, never showed a picture of the blissful bride&groom on their big day as they usually do (for whatever reason). If I were the husband, I would keep a detailed list of whatever professional services I was rendering on this massive reno job because if, or when, she dumps him in the future, his lawyer would have tools he/she will need to ask the Court for reimbursement as part of any divorce decree. I will reserve any comments about future children that she seemed intent on having ASAP on that basis.
  11. I note that TLC still uses subtitles for most of Jackson's remarks and comments. Although he has a good vocabulary and uses idiomatic English well, complete with current expressions, like DUDE (used constantly by the family) I still can't make "heads or tails" out of a lot of his words and phrases. I think he could benefit from some professional speech therapy, as well as Lilah.
  12. They just bought a near $1 million house and both parents are generously compensated for their TV work so, from what you're suggesting, their financial status wouldn't preclude free special ed services??
  13. Funny you should mention that fact but not spending $$$$ for outside professional help for Lilah (when Tori has THE TOOLS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN HER BACK POCKET) did enter my mind AS RIDICULOUS AS THAT SOUNDS!! Who knows what their insurance covers, and let's not forget that one of them (Tori, probably) would have to carve time out of her otherwise "busy" schedule (let's not forget all the shilling she does on Instagram) that has to be coordinated with the other 2 kids needs and schedules. Then, of course, there would be "follow up" work that the speech therapist would assign after the professional session is over that Z&T would have to provide. I only see Zach "having time" for his numerous DYI projects around the property that he does in his own time. BOTTOM LINE: When I see Lilah, I see a little toddler who seems lost, confused, frustrated and irritated...a little girl who receives VERY LITTLE emotional support from the rest of the family. I also see a fair amt of rejection and "shaming" that raises a lot of red flags with me!
  14. Hard as I try, I will NEVER be able to explain the answer to your question. Chris seems like a regular nice-looking guy who had(s) a successful career and did quite well in the financial and relationship depts. Amy, on the other hand, has MANY issues from YEARS in a troubled marriage, little in the "looks" or personality dept and has children whom, themselves, present challenges. That Chris never married and had children was, surely, by choice. Apparently, Amy connects with him emotionally in ways he needs and wants and cannot be explained.
  15. I completely agree with you. I think it would be great for Tori to supplement the plan designed by a qualified professional to deal with Lilah's delayed speech that is serious, but not undertake the task herself. Now that you revealed that the financial aspect of this therapy is usually taken care of by the district, I can't think of any other reason to decline such a valuable service. I recall that on "The Little Couple" show the Klein's showed how their children benefitted from professional intervention for their impaired speech.
  16. Yes, I just watched it and think it's amazing that he actually got paroled due to some recent MO law that his lawyers accessed to get him out of there. When they were wrapping up the episode they said that the prosecutor who was more sympathetic to his plight lost his election and that the MO AG who was not was re-elected. Therefore, inasmuch as he is out of prison, has a job, a driver's license and is functioning lawfully in society, I really don't see the State spending the resources to exonerate him. It's not impossible, but seems unlikely to me. I'm not sure how long he'll be on parole and, of course, is still a convicted felon in the eyes of the law. His best shot at exoneration is if his lawyers can convince a judge to hear all their "new evidence" that casts doubt on his conviction and the judge ordering a new trial. Then, the prosecutor might simply decide that too much time has elapsed for the State to reasonably assume they could make a case beyond a reasonable doubt, and dismiss it.
  17. It would seem so because going through all those wardrobe changes and choosing the backgrounds would be a lot of time and energy. I wonder who produces her site and who picks out the clothes. I also wonder if she's selling a lot of what she's modelling? You can say a lot of things about Tori but no one can fault her for trying to wrangle every buck she can out of her TV "celebrity" status.
  18. All of the kids, with the exception of Zach (including Molly) refuse to appear on the show. Jacob works with Matt on the farm (a paycheck) but refuses to appear on camera. Jeremy, we already know, has some online gig with Auj that apparently pays the bills on their large new farm. Jacob and Jeremy are average sized and have average-sized children so their appearance on the show would be worthless in promoting the LPBW "brand." Molly has no children but is average sized It's only Zach and Tori with their 3 dwarf children that keep the show alive as I don't see enough dramatic content with Matt, Amy and their average-sized partner/spouse to capture an viewing audience. My belief is that the show will eventually fade into oblivion although I admit that there are scenes with the 3 Z&T children that are interesting to watch and grab my attention.
  19. I'm sure they have a very capable investment team (probably recommended by Matt before everything hit the fan) who are providing them with lifetime financial security. Lest we forget, Zach has been "tap dancing" to participate in the show for over 20 YEARS. Tori has been doing the same for about 7 years, and I'm sure the kids are also compensated for their appearances on the show. My question is how much $$$ Tori makes from shilling all the merchandise from different vendors that she splashes all over Instagram??? Maybe someone knows how those deals with "influencers" like Tori pay? I would say that THE MOST CRUCIAL expenditure Tori could make with all her extra Instagram cash is to hire HOUSEHOLD CLEANING HELP, although perhaps they've already done that. I noticed that in the most recent posts and episodes from the show their home doesn't resemble "Hoarders" as much as it used to in the past. I noticed the areas are "picked up" and, I HOPE, cleaned.
  20. Every time I see Lilah my heart really goes out to her! She seems lost and confused I did see ONE Instagram post from Tori last summer, when she, her mother and Amy filmed a scene at a Tea Room with Lilah (Tori's instagram posts always foreshadow episodes of the show) when Lilah actually was made the center of attention. She had a genuine look of happiness on her face. Unfortunately, for too much of the time, Lilah seems like an "after thought" to her parents when compared to the time and praise they heap on her 2 brothers.
  21. I thought the 3 houses they were shown were among the nicest I've ever seen in that price range anywhere in the Country. Thought it was fitting that these 2 military retirees were getting their dream home after so many years of honorably serving their Country.
  22. True, but kids usually do better in life when they're taught to be respectful of property, be it theirs or other peoples. It's a small thing, but it reflects a certain attitude that T&Z might want to reconsider.
  23. Agreed!! When and where is it ever OK to litter? Families usually have a litter bag whenever they go anywhere with their children. When Jackson said he'd throw the stick on the ground, I said to myself: "HUH??? Where'd he get that idea? "
