  1. Dysfunction Junction, what's your malfunction? Wow.
  2. Okay, I'm losing sympathy fast. "I discovered that my family is trying to help me, and I'm really angry about that."
  3. She has severe lipedema/lymphedema. Yikes! I had no idea that flying would be so dangerous for her.
  4. This reminds me of Intervention episodes where the siblings are totally fed up. There might be a good reason why her siblings don't want to deal with her. Or -- maybe they're all just following Dad's lead. Hard to know.
  5. All that "Dr. Now would be mad at me" stuff bugs me. I realize that these folks aren't paying the medical bills, so their attitude is somewhat different from mine. But I would be telling Dr. Now in no uncertain terms that he was not permitted to speak to me that way. I had a mother, I outlived her, I don't need another one. You may speak to me respectfully or not at all.
  6. There is someone with Ashley's name in the correct area of Texas who is an associate producer for a local morning show. No idea how much that would pay, though.
  7. Yeah, but she also said, "Losing weight is hard -- believe me, I know" or something along those lines. I thought she had tried other options before the surgery.
  8. I think Ashley is gaining weight.
  9. They walked to the park instead of driving.
  10. No kidding! "Hi, Dad, come on in!" "When are you going to lose weight??"
  11. They live in Wichita Falls, TX. I suspect real estate is pretty cheap there.
  12. I hope he succeeds, but wow, he was pretty far gone. He's going to need a lot of support as the years go by. What was up with his relatives not seeing him for years at at time? Even one of the sisters hadn't seen him for six years. I know Canada's big, but c'mon, they have planes. There was no way to bottom-line him. He wasn't relying on them for money. Hell, he barely saw most of them (except Cara, and I guess Dad who had gone from being absent to enabling fairly recently.)
  13. Wait, what? Yeah, that's extremely relevant information that they should have brought up.
  14. I really had to wonder about that. I would have thought that some kind of pre-surgical imaging would have let him know that the project was unmanageable. You can see why most surgeons simply won't take on cases like these 600 pound folks.
  15. I don't want to rewatch, so I'm trying to reconstruct what she said. Didn't she talk about pot and acid? Those aren't very addictive. She did quit smoking -- and I'm not sure how she did that. Honestly, they drag these new shows out for two hours and then they don't tell you the interesting stuff. They were clearly giving her the "evil" edit (and she was giving them plenty of material), but with some information about how she quit all her previous drugs, she might have come off more sympathetic.
  16. And her daughter just vanished after the first half hour.
  17. Okay, they're trying for five minutes of redemption...
  18. Huh. Okay. Was that Cynthia? Because Phentermine is cheap. But whatevs. There are a lot of excuses floating around on this show.
  19. I didn't actually know you could survive with all your internal organs so completely displaced like that.
  20. Well, she clearly needs anti-depressants. Like, yesterday. Or 20 years ago. And what's the deal with her bra straps?
