Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I think this is Tyrion believing that if Cersei and Jaime surrender or come to some truce with Dany then he will be able to convince her to spare them and show mercy. That's the feeling I got from him in season 7,that he was giving them a chance to surrender and make some deal. -

That probably makes more sense than the greater good idea, now that I think about.Because if they actually execute him on a trial then it's really bad.Like Dany forgave Jorah, even in her worst anger she let him go and didn't kill him.So Tyrion probably won't have a forgivable excuse. This makes perfect sense for book Tyrion but I think that because the show made him more of a moral compass, sudden pacifist especially in season 7,it's harder to imagine. -

Oh yeah I can see that tbh.If he truly believes Jon is a liability for Dany and there's jealousy in the mix too then he might to something to Jon. -

Yeah of the 4 endings that were given I would have definitely chosen Tyrion to die because Jon and Dany are my faves but I hate that he betrays them.I loved his friendships with Jon and especially with Dany so it sucks. -

Wow I was really preparing myself for dead Jon.I don't feel happy about this tbh even tho I was annoyed by Tyrion in season 7 and felt like he was betraying Dany by trying to protect his family while being her hand. But an actual betrayal and trial where he dies will be pretty sad imo.I think it will be because he wants to protect Cersei's kid and not because he's jealous exactly. But if there's a trial and he gets no forgiveness like even exile then I feel like he does something messed up. -

I feel like it's the Jon dies option tbh since they keep saying it's surprising and the sub won't like it.Mostly cause as many near deaths and the one actual death he's had,I don't think many people at the freefolk sub expect it.My impression is that the discussion is always more on Dany dying than Jon. -

I can't really see Tyrion ending up on the throne tbh.Mostly because that would mean house Lannister has been ruling for the entire show and that basically they won the game of thrones.Imo house Lannister dying out,at least Tywin's line,is more likely than that. Jon dying would seem more likely to me if he wasn't made legitimate and his real name wasn't the biggest Targ king name ever. Before finding that out,I used to think he would die fighting the NK. -

I really don't see what benefit declaring Sansa as queen brings other than it's flattering for Sansa. The north doesn't have the resources to fight even Cersei, let alone the NK.Jon is coming back with a 100k army and two dragons.Dany is going there with a strong alliance to Jon to put it mildly and definitely isn't hostile towards them or will be some tyrant towards them. She didn't even require him to bend the knee at the end, but he did because when someone has and is about to make huge sacrifices to save them,it's kinda the decent thing to do.Her and Jon seem aware that the north will be wary and were already thinking about ways to show them she's not a threat and they're united. So if they refuse to listen and accept help, then imo they're just dumb and too proud.Especially for people who accepted Boltons and refused the Starks just two seasons ago and spent centuries being part of the seven kingdoms and were fine with it. I mean it be kinda funny to watch them refuse Dany, Jon,the huge armies and dragons and then rely on Sansa in the face of an apocalypse but I doubt it happens.I totally agree that this will be an issue that won't last long ,basically until the NK attacks and they see what they're up against. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I think she trusted his judgement when she stood up for him and tried to protect him from the chance that Sansa and the northern lords might betray him. They were complaining about his decision to go south and meet with Dany and Arya completely stood by him and wanted to kill anyone who even thought of treason.I don't see why when he shows up with Dany and her armies, she wouldn't keep doing that.Especially if she hears how Dany saved his life.Of course I think she'll want to observe Dany for herself but I don't see why she would come to the conclusion that Dany is lying to herself tho. I don't think trusting him is the same as obeying anything he says, just that she gives his opinion a lot more weight than most other people and so she'll be more willing to give Dany a chance if Jon believes she deserves it. -

Idk we'll see.I wouldn't be that surprised if Arya doesn't trust her faster than others but I have a feeling she will.I do think she trusts his judgement and won't want to make it even harder on him when everyone else freaks out about him bending the knee to Dany. And the show established her ability to figure out liars so I think she'll do that with Dany right away and see she's not a threat and genuinely has feelings for Jon. -

I mostly think she'll like her faster than Sansa or the northern lords because Arya trusts Jon and I think when he tells her about Dany she'll believe him.Plus Arya is a pretty great judge of character with her faceless man training and all so I think she'll be able to see that Dany doesn't mean them harm faster than others as well. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I don't think Dany will break her promise when she finds out Cersei betrayed them. She promised to fight the WW on the boat, before they got a truce and she knew there was always a chance that Cersei won't go for it and would try something. So I don't think that will be a problem at all.And she definitely won't break it when/if the north refuses to accept her because she didn't require him to bend the knee when he did and she's also fully aware they won't be happy about it. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I don't think those are her only options.I think the fact that she's coming to protect the north is a lot more powerful than forcing Tyrion,a Lannister, to marry or consummate his marriage to Sansa.Imo it's going to be pretty simple and once she helps protect these people and they see she's their best chance they'll accept her.Kinda like in season 6 when Jon and Sansa asked for help from northern houses and got rejected by the majority and then once they won the battle and freed the north from the Boltons,Jon was pronounced king and they won the support of those who previously rejected them. It's the end of the world basically at this point,I don't think political games will be as important as they used to be at the start. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
Right, like Jon killed a kid for participating in his own assassination so I'd say even in this imo very unlikely reality where Dany kills Lyanna for attempting to murder her,Jon doesn't have much room to judge. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
Not even just the commentary, for season 7 we have actual outline leaks that give insight into what the characters are thinking and what the actors are supposed to portray and it's very clear in them that Jon is genuinely falling in love and after getting to know Dany believes she's a good person without any trace of trying to deceive her. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I can understand how the northern lords would be unhappy being under the rule of someone they don't know but I also think they should be able to assess their own situation and see that independence is hard to keep at this point and survive. What good would it do if Jon had stayed at WF,they literally don't have the resources to fight on their own.Going to meet with Dany was just the logical thing to do imo.It was a risk but a very necessary one. So I'm fine with some wariness from the northern lords but I'm also pretty sure they'll be disrespectful and irrational no matter what Jon and Dany say or how much they explain. They acted like that just at the idea of being allies with Dany, without bending the knee even being mentioned.I don't think anything apart from literally getting attacked by the army of the dead will change their minds. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
Exactly,I really don't get what the northern lords expect tbh.Like they don't have enough men or food, literal walking dead are on their doorstep and south of them two queens with much bigger armies want to rule all seven kingdoms. They can't really sustain independence and survive on their own or stay out of this conflict.Jon had to make some alliance and he truly managed to get the best one possible. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
Yeah that's exactly the way I see it happening. They'll be huge jerks and annoying until they actually see what they're up against and how dead they are without Dany and the dragons and then the whole "they'll see you for what you are" thing will happen. I really hope the Sansa is pissed at Jon yet again storyline isn't dragged out beyond like ep one because I'm pretty sick of that tbh.Sansa in conflict with other Starks is getting really old now. -
Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"
tangerine95 replied to Zalyn's topic in Arrow
This SDCC did feel weird in general but I agree I'm not exactly sure why.It definitely could be the lack of the big hype panels like Marvel,SW and GoT.It didn't seem as big this year. -
I don't think it's worth all that secrecy tbh.Arrow isn't GoT or something where plot twists and who's gonna die are a big deal. Can't remember that last time Arrow was actually surprising and delivered a real twist, probably the season 2 finale and the whole Felicity injects Slade with Mirakuru thing.Idk maybe they do have genuinely surprising stuff in store this season but I'm not getting my hopes up about it.I think at this point they would be better off being more clear with the promo. They just went to the biggest promo event arrow has the opportunity to use and barely said anything interesting or gave a sense of the season imo.

Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
Sure I guess it's possible but I seriously doubt Dany will survive the war and then die in childbirth at the epilogue at the very end.So I'm not too worried about it if the leaks are legit.Tho tbh I never worried much that she'll die in childbirth so I don't take the MMD prophecy to mean that. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
If the baby really is born at the end, like the epilogue that makes me feel really great about Dany's survival chances. And it makes more sense I guess than literally 9 months of fighting with the NK and Cersei tho I always for some reason thought that the baby being born would totally be like a dramatic in the middle of the war type of moment.Really excited about the Dany vs NK on the dragons and the whole KL battle. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I don't think Jon and Dany are responsible for bringing the long night tbh.Like that was happening no matter what. They didn't really have many great options in their situation imo.If they don't get a truce with Cersei then she's free to win back all of westeros except the north and will be a huge problem if they even survive the fight against the army of the dead. Also the Lannister army and everyone who joined Cersei would be a big asset if they joined the fight north. If Dany doesn't go save Jon then she loses the one guy she has as an ally with a region that hates her and the one person who knows exactly what the army of the dead is like and has managed to kill one of their leaders. The real stupid illogical thing there imo is the fact that Dany didn't just go and burn the red keep or didn't send an assassin to kill Cersei or literally anything that would get rid of her because keeping her alive sure isn't reducing casualties no matter what heavily biased Tyrion claims. But that's a plot problem of wanting to keep Cersei in the game when it doesn't make that much sense so there was always gonna be some characters dumbed down to make it happen. -
Season 8: Speculation and Spoilers Discussion
tangerine95 replied to Eyes High's topic in Game Of Thrones
I think Arya and Gendry definitely have a shot at being an actual romance in season 8,tho I don't see any sex scenes happening.Sansa and the Hound as they are on the show,I really can't imagine it.It would be so weird for me with their big age difference, the fact that the show didn't really develop a romance there imo and they haven't even mentioned each other since like season 3.I don't even see it actually happening it the books either tho it is hinted a lot more and they both have some feelings for each other.
