  1. I didn't understand why the FireAvert thing was so expensive. Isn't it basically the same technology as The Clapper, only it just turns one thing off?
  2. I don't quite understand how the "cookie" knew about the murder. Are we to assume that the cookie learns everything its owner learns after the initial creation? I guess there would have to be some sort of permanent "link" between the person and the cookie, like how a phone updates new info to the cloud. Maybe I missed that when I watched. I really liked the ep (and series) overall. The concept of having technology implanted inside us is slightly terrifying, but I know it's coming.
  3. Ha, true. Me and my wife were surprised that they didn't spell it "Stuffinz" with the bagels. It seemed appropriate, considering how ridiculous the name is.
  4. My wife bought me a DropStop (another Lori product), and she had the same problem at BB&B when she went to look for one. A staff member had to pull one from the back when there were none to be found on the floor, and at first they didn't even know what she was talking about. The packaging was also pretty terrible.
  5. Yup, God was obviously mad that Rick took down Father Gabriel's prayer flyers.
  6. I watched the first season on Netflix, and I'm watching season 2 on the Sundance channel. The nudity is blurred out in these new eps, which surprised me. I don't watch much on Sundance since my cable company doesn't offer it in HD, but I figured they'd allow nudity as long as the show had a disclaimer about being for "mature audiences" or whatever. It makes me wonder what else they're editing out, but I think that's been addressed in another thread.
  7. I laughed when the Wink guy said "it's not really a product for everyone" in reference to their "ice cream." That's something you probably don't want to say to a room full of potential investors.
  8. What was going on in that weird conversation near the end with Simone and Dodd? She made a reference to something "getting him hard," which was creepy considering she's his daughter, right?
  9. As if people and their phone obsessions aren't annoying enough, it appears that we'll be seeing phones flying through the air everywhere soon. Fantastic.
  10. When she got pushed out on to the street in front of her apartment, I realized the "kidnap van" has become Carrie's Uber.
  11. It was interesting to see value still placed on material things, like the cuff links. I think I also spotted the back of one of the military vehicles loaded up with a big flat screen TV and a bicycle. In the present-day of TWD, jewelry/money/electronics/etc. would have no value at all.
  12. Really enjoyed hearing "Classic Girl" by Jane's Addiction during the dress-up scene.
  13. I cringed when Madison got the fire extinguisher off the wall for the principal's beatdown. After watching "Irreversible," I can't see a fire extinguisher on screen without expecting the worst.
  14. I kept pronouncing Rylan's name as "Rill-an" (like Dylan) in my head. Also, did anyone else notice that Savanah (with one N, apparently) had a Facebook friend named "Frostian?" Please tell me that's a nickname. I was hoping Nev would want to reach out to him (or her) just so I could find out more about that name.
  15. My main problem with the show is that almost everything seems lifted from something else. Aside from the Fight Club "inspiration," Tyrell feels like the tech version of Patrick Bateman. Even the musical score, while well done, seems like it's compiled of outtakes from Trent Reznor's film work. I really want to like it, but it all feels like something I've seen before. Yes, I realize that almost nothing is truly original, but I feel like this show has crossed the line.
  16. After this last episode, I'm not sure if I'll continue after this season is over. From the beginning, I had the sense that the creators were lifting a lot of thematic elements from Fight Club, but now it's getting a bit ridiculous. I like a lot about the show, but when I heard "Where Is My Mind" at the end of the last ep, I was annoyed. Homage is one thing, but this feels like theft.
  17. Was anyone else hoping for an explanation of what "Geo Stain" meant? Nev even referred to her as "Geo" a couple times. I never stop rolling my eyes at the ridiculous handles/nicknames people give themselves on this show. On another note, Geo/Christina/David sounded like Snoop from The Wire when she talked.

    S05.E15: Try

Were Daryl and Aaron back by the time Rick's fight started? And were we to assume they'd been out all night on their search? I remember them spotting the light in the distance, then when we picked back up with them, it was daylight when they found the dismembered body and the disemboweled woman tied to the tree. If so, that's quite a big time jump.
