  3. It was $400,000 of her drug money that Lucious invested in starting Empire, and she & Lucious were both drug dealers.
  4. There's a ten year age difference between the actors. Conrad Ricamord (Oliver) is 36, Jack Falahee (Connor) is 26.
  5. I wish Empire would showcase Veronika more. Not only is she gorgeous, but she has a fantastic voice.
  6. This show makes Empire look like Masterpiece Theatre.
  7. For all the griping about cameos, there were two small moments in these past couple of episodes that serve as a reminder that Empire hasn't lost its touch in getting the smaller, more intimate details right. The first came when Jamal lamented to his Dad that running Empire was taking a toll on his music and creative process, to which Lucious sadly looked at his son and answered him, as one musician to another, with a quietly empathetic, "Yeah." The second came in this episode when Andre, unconsciously, referred to his mother by her first name instead of Mom; a trait which his brothers also resort to when they're frustrated with her, to which she instinctively, and tearfully, recoiled as if she'd just been slapped. And those kind of subtle, character driven moments prove that Empire hasn't lost sight of what made it a success IMO.

  10. Andre's weapons (undercounter switchblade, shower machete, blender nunchucks) were hilarious.
  11. Tyree eating yet another bowl of cereal had me giggling.
  12. In the original script for Empire's pilot, it's made very clear Vernon was Andre's champion & surrogate father figure. That's why Vernon reacted so harshly to Andre's stinging accusations of selling out when he came to make amends at the end of last season.
  13. The original post made mention of Dwayne passing for Black. There is no passing in Dwayne's case. He's Black.

  21. I hope Tracee Ellis Ross is nominated for an emmy next year. She is as crucial to the success of the show as Anthony Anderson.
