  1. I think this goes both ways. JaSam, Friz. Yeah, but I don't think FV cares about JaSam enough to protect it. Of the two, I think FV only actually cares about Friz - and that's because it gives RoHo job security. I doubt JaSam is bringing in new fans but they have a relatively large, loyal fanbase that probably won't abandon the couple because of Liz/Jason scenes. Friz, though? Friz fandom appears to be made up of new fans of the couple, RoHo fans and disaffected Liaison fans who abandoned the ship due to the Liz/Jakeson story and aftermath. I would think that those fans would be more susceptible to Liz/"Real"Jason stories. In fact, the Jason/Sam relationship should be stressed right now by Jason's obsession with reducing Franco's influence on his son. But, it isn't, for the same reason that Laura is cheerleading the Friz relationship and that Lucky still hasn't been recast.
  2. Umm, so GH has created a set-up were they've swapped the memories of several sets of twins - with one eeeevil twin and one good twin. I wonder what this means for our resident sainted Hitman. Also, why didn't they just make RoHo Franco's twin? Everyone could've been uncomfortable with his presence without him being a rapist/kidnapper/stalker/SERIAL KILLER who interacts with his victims on a daily basis
  3. JJ!Lucky didn't lose to Sonny/Jason - but it doesn't matter. FV isn't going to recast Lucky while RoHo still needs BH to make Franco viable
  4. And vice versa. Valentin had no choice in having a child with Lulu. I think he did? From what I remember Helena had the egg fertilized. Valentin decided to have it implanted and paid Claudette to serve as the surrogate. I still think Griffin as Charlotte's dad was the least terrible option.
  5. Ethan did. Before TG got involved, Ethan's conception and birth would've fit in the timeline with Holly's presumed death and 2 year coma. Robert thought she was dead and her family let him believe it. Given her family's history, the idea that they would sell the baby without even telling her it existed isn't even a little bit of a reach. Guza caring enough about character/GH history to use that setup to introduce a new character was notable enough that I would've been super ticked off at the change in paternity even if I hadn't loved L&L and Holly/Robert
  6. The ratings have been dreadful for much longerbthan that. Aside from an initial bump when RC/FV started, the ratings have been dreadful for most of FV's tenure. I don't know whether the ratings are worse now than AMC and OLTL when they were cancelled, but it wouldn't surprise me.
  7. I think ratings, fan events and letter writing are probably still a better metric than social media. Those things require a time/money investment - Twitter, Facebook and forums don't
  8. I generally think it's a bad idea to choose chemistry over character. But, I don't think that had to be the case for AJ/Carly. I think those two characters in particular could've followed Alan/Monica's arc. And I think it could've been a soapy, compelling pairing because they are both deeply dysfunctional and because AJ/Carly used to be friends - real friends, not that bullshit infantilizing, ennabling mess that she has with Jason. In fact, I think AJ is the closest this character has ever come to a real friendship and I think the GH script writers were incorporating that into their scenes, right up until RC/FV decided that Carly/Franco needed to happen
  9. I think it depends on who's doing the casting.
  10. Then why on Earth does FV keep subjecting us to Disney kids and models??
  11. It's not just Carson/Jasam with FV. The Block of wood AKA Nathan had constant storylines while Dante sat on the sidelines. Valentin, Nina, Franco - every bad decision FV has made had more screentime than DZ
  12. They should have used her, there was always potential there - but I can't imagine they're going to do better with a recast. The wiring for recast!Jordan is actually worse
  13. Probably doesn't mind it, since being a matriarch isn't young and sexay like reading Rand by candlelight. Now, if MW had called GF the female lead? I think she'd mind that
  14. Totally agree. I actually think that's one of the reasons Valerie could've recovered. Also: - NuLu/Dante didn't have the history or the chemistry of Lulu/Dante - RC/FV were obviously trying to match up NuLu with someone else - first Cheetwood Jr, then NuDillon - it was all so wildly, stupidly ridiculously OOC for Dante that it was hard to take it seriously.
  15. I think they still could've redeemed her if they'd gone in the obvious soap direction of having her fall for Dillon while they were scheming together. They had more chem together anyway - and it might've kept FV/RC from dropping Valerie and Dante into the black hole they disappeared into when the affair tanked Valerie/Kristina were also viable. FV just wasn't interested.
  16. But it wasn't about Carly - it was LW, the female lead on a long-running soap opera. Who apparently has enough influence to get her boyfriend hired for a major role. SBr and TB, while more popular in the role, couldn't even get stories that they wanted - let alone have their SOs soldered onto the Scorpio family tree
  17. Would it? I don't think any soap couple is going to move the needle on ratings at this point. I don't think any have since maybe L&L in the 90s - and I can't imagine that that compared to their effect on the ratings in the 70s/80s. Even then, if GH had had these writers and Frank as EP it would've been cancelled in the 70s. FV and his various HWs have really driven home how important it is to have a good EP/HW team.
  18. Lady has a type. Actually, Griffin might've made more sense as an intentional attempt to pivot after realizing she'd hit a serial killer trifecta and that she and her baby daddy had conceived her second child on the literal grave of the man they murdered
  19. From what I remember the actors didn't want Jason/Sam to have kids either. But since they can't unring that bell, having these kids should conflict with the lives they've chosen in a meaningful way.
  20. Franco admitted that the tumor excuse was a lie, and claimed he was still serial killing people - and Jason's too busy to kill him? What is the point of being a professional murderer if he's going to waste opportunities like this?!1!?!1! I don't think there's any way this baby isn't a tock. Which make me think the writers knocked up Carly just to give Jason an excuse to ignore Franco's confession.
  21. I don't know why this show bothers having spoilers if they're not going to do anything interesting
  22. The Fluke plot begs to differ. RC/FV were terrible at pacing, they were bad at it on OLTL too. I don't know whether he's better at it on his own. I don't really watch DOOL
  23. I don't think even Guza was this bad. And actually, even with the baby rabies and all the women losing their jobs - RC might not've been either.
