  1. It depends on the airport, and I cannot speak to Philly's since I've never been there. But there are definitely airports in the U.S. with very nice dining options, such as steakhouses and wine bars. As you might expect, the odds are better at bigger airports that include international flights and where it's not unusual for people to be there for hours waiting on flights.
  2. The Eagles got a questionable catch to go along with the catch that was overturned. And I don't think the holding call was a matter of the NFL stepping in. It was still early in the series, as opposed to bailing out the Chiefs on third or fourth down. The NFL may have preferred that the Chiefs win, but I don't think they wanted to see the game end in that fashion, where the Chiefs didn't run any real plays for nearly two minutes and then a FG was kicked. They would have preferred Mahomes scoring the game-winning TD and to have action all the way through. There was no need to step in so soon. The Chiefs aren't some Pop Warner team coached and QB'd by incompetent idiots.
  3. Apparently the Colts have decided on Eagles OC Shane Steichen as their new coach, pending working out a contract. And the Eagles are expected to then promote their QB coach to OC in order to preserve continuity in the offense. As far as the Super Bowl goes, the Chiefs obviously learned from the Niners-Eagles game and came in with a solid plan to protect Mahomes from the pass rush. And the Eagles missed a couple of opportunities in settling for FGs over TDs, which more than made up for the Chiefs doinking that FG early on.
  4. Ha! I just realized that's why my niece's school's chose tomorrow for one of the teachers' in-service days (or curriculum day, as some call it)! I thought it was kind of weird since it means two short weeks in a row.
  5. Yes, that's true. Some Niners fans would say Brock Purdy, but I'm far from sold on him. There might be a period of years, as was the case a while back, where the AFC championship game was the de facto Super Bowl because the NFC was so lacking.
  6. One of the great things to contemplate is how young both Mahomes and Hurts are. And they aren't the only young stellar QBs in the NFL, either.
  7. Well, that was still a hell of a game, and I got my #1 wish, which was for it to come down to the last minute. Congrats to Mahomes and the Chiefs, and Hurts and the Eagles did prove that they belonged at the Super Bowl. This was the right match-up for this season.
  8. Because it's boring to watch it go down this way, with no real plays being run. But it's smart strategy.
  9. 30 seconds of photos of humans at their worst. Ugh.
  10. I don't know what's in store these final five minutes, but they're going to be exciting!
  11. They technically haven't done badly in that regard, seeing as how the Eagles have been forced to kick FGs twice when they would've obviously loved to have TDs instead. Their problem is not making that happen early in the drive...
  12. The Chiefs D looks to me like they are getting tired and frustrated, a bad combination. The next time the KC offense gets out there, they really need to grind a drive out. I understand why they wanted to come out of the gate hot after halftime, but man, those defenders need rest.
  13. Does Reid ever win challenges? He always seems snake-bit to me in that area. The announcers mentioned that Hurts switched to longer cleats after the first quarter. I wonder how many other players were able to do the same.
  14. Not for the Super Bowl. The NFL pays for the cost of the show and for the travel expenses, but do not pay the artist for the performance. The artists do it because it's a publicity boost.
  15. He definitely looked better as he walked to the locker room. Good to see.
  16. Damn. At least halftime is coming up quickly, hopefully it'll help Mahomes's ankle.
  17. This is actually the first time I've seen the Eagles play this season. Damn is Hurts fun to watch. And Mahomes is always fun (even though I'm a Raiders fan, I can still say this). This really is shaping up to be a classic.
  18. I'm rooting for the Eagles, but I don't hate this. I'd like the game to go down to the last minute.
  19. Clueless is a solid pick at least because it still brings in new generations. My 12-year-old niece was just watching it for the first time a few weeks ago. She talked about the stepbrother thing being a little creepy, and I told her the source material was worse.
  20. In a Super Bowl like this, a missed FG feels like something large.
  21. Enough players have talked over the seasons about "bulletin board material" motivating them that I'm comfortable it's a factor. And no, the Chiefs weren't the ones who did the whining, but the Niners were saying stuff about how the Chiefs would expose the Eagles/Hurts and such. Definitely stuff to get the Eagles fired up and want to prove they belong in the Super Bowl. Glad this game isn't a blow-out so far. I want a good, exciting game first and foremost.
  22. I'm sure the Chiefs really appreciate all the bulletin board material the Niners gave the Eagles. I had a feeling the Eagles would score on their first possession, between the Niners' whining and Hurts's losing MVP to Mahomes.
  23. Given that practically every character actor based in NYC appeared in the L&O franchise at some point, I suspect it'd be faster to list SATC's secondary/guest actors who didn't appear on L&O! (Yep. I just had some fun on IMDB randomly clicking on actors who did an ep or two of SATC. Most of them have at least one L&O appearance.)
  24. I just binged all five episodes, and Ioved them. It helps for me that it's been a while since the last season aired, so although I know the "Joe is surrounded by other wonderfully awful people" thing has been done before, enough time has passed that I don't mind another go-round of it. So many darkly hilarious moments in this first batch of episodes. I enjoy a good murder mystery and am a huge Christie fan, so I enjoyed Joe trying to play detective and Nadia schooling him on the tropes. I couldn't believe the show passed up a chance to have them discuss those attendant with the "house party with a murderer on the loose," but I suppose there wouldn't have been a way to get that conversation in that wouldn't have made it too obvious to Nadia what's really going on with Joe's study of murder mysteries. I don't think Kate can rightly be considered one of Joe's women, as he's not obsessed with her yet, and I'm not sure he ever could be even were he not already in a "you" relationship with Rhys. She's so strongly herself that she's very hard to project onto. I suspect if they did date for real, it would be more like that relationship Joe had with a woman in S1 when he and Becks were broken up for a little while, where he liked his girlfriend fine, but there was no obsession and it was easy for him to leave her for the woman he was obsessed with. The Rhys thing is an interesting shift in that he wants himself and Joe to be murder partners. Love was of course fine with the fact Joe was a murderer and that she was a murderer, and felt they should be able to bond over that, but she wasn't specifically envisioning them having fun murdering people together. Love and Joe were killers in the same way, in that all their kills were triggered by particular circumstances. They didn't go out hunting for people to kill. It's that distinction that has allowed Joe to rationalize his murders, to hide from himself what he is. Rhys is holding up a different mirror than Love did, and I'm intrigued to see if that finally gets Joe to become self-aware.
