  1. Except maybe it didn't have to be done, Cora's last words were that Regina would have been enough, and even Snow admitted there were other paths she could have taken. I do agree that feeling guilty about killing someone does seem to be "in character" for Snow, but I think it would be equally out of character for Regina, who loved her mother despite everything, to say that Snow was justified in killing her. I enjoyed this episode. I wasn't sure how a Cora-centric fairyback would go, but I did feel for her character. I kinda wish once Cora came into her full magical powers that she turned the gardener into a snail and stepped on him.
  2. On first watch I didn't like Season 2, but later when I re-watched it all at once (through Netflix) I enjoyed it a lot more. If you finish your S1 DVDs and want to see S2 without paying I think you can do the free Hulu Plus trial and you'll have a week to watch S2.
  3. I was expecting that too! I think it would have been kind of awesome if Rumpel had said what Zelena loved the most was herself. Instead it was Rumpel she loved the most. (What, in the one hour you knew him? / Rumpy voice) Petunia846, it was in S2, Ep2, "We are Both" Rumpel: Careful, Dearie, these are straight up spells. Rough on the system. Regina: I don't care if they turn me green. I'm getting my son back!
  4. I wondered about this as well. (Not to mention how ubiquitous true love has apparently become, makes me wonder why magic users even bother anymore.) It seems when someone's memories have been completely wiped (Belle, Emma) it does not work, which makes sense. In Snow's case, Rumpy's potion took away her love as well as her memory of Charming, so his initial kiss didn't work but after he jumped in front of the arrow it did. I'm willing to hand wave it a little with Ana because she still had her memories, she still remembered who she was and Will, she just appeared to be under a magical delusion.
  5. I agree. Maybe the writers are finally getting ready to address this and that is why they had Neal speak up? I do like Emilie de Ravin as Belle, and think she's done her best with what she has been given but so far what she's been given, especially in S3.b, has felt even more inconsistent than usual. She's in mourning in Storybrooke, cheerful in the Enchanted Forest, she's Belle, she's Lacey. I think the writers may be causing trouble for themselves with this whole "we are both" thing, it sounds interesting on paper but it raises a lot of questions, especially with characters like Belle whose alternate identity is so much different than who she was. And it kinda sucks if a Regina created identity for Belle from two curses ago might actually permanently change who she is. It's not even like she wanted to be Lacey in the first place through a desire to explore her dark side, the whole persona was created to get back at Rumpy.
  6. The way I understood it, the rules of magic are that you can't raise the dead, make someone love you, or change the past. So Jafar broke the rules of magic by making his father love him, but not by killing him. (I think what threw me off there was that one of the rules for genie's wishes is you cannot wish for life or death, but general magic can still kill.) When Marcus and Alice were kissing at the end I was waiting to see if he would drop dead, but then I realized only Jafar's magic had been undone so since Amara raised Marcus he got to live.
  7. Belle seemed OOC to me this episode. Way back in Skin Deep when Regina asked Belle if she loved Rumpel, Belle said she thought she could except that something evil had taken root in him. At that time the thought of breaking his curse with true love's kiss appealed to her. Then we get to this last episode and it is a 180 degree turn. All of a sudden she loves his dark parts too, since when? Although observant posters mentioned she's sounding a lot like Lacey and after hearing that I realized that does seem true. The difference between the Belle in Skin Deep and the Belle in Quiet Minds is that she is now "both." My pet theory is that the Lacey character never really loved Rumpel, so Belle was channeling her as a way to help her cope with Rumpel's death. samhalliwell, I love Snow and Charming, they are the reason I started watching OUAT, but I can see why someone watching Wonderland might find the Alice/Cyrus pairing more satisfying/endearing because 1) it was short, 2) it was more focused on their story instead of being spread out among a large ensemble cast, and 3) then they got their happy ending. Which to be fair is kinda easier than having an ongoing relationship that starts at the happy ending and then spans seasons with the huge crew of the mothership. So yeah, at face value I can see someone glancing at them both and saying Alice/Cyrus feels better, but if their story was stretched out over 2 more seasons and they were constantly having to find each other again, it's my opinion their charm would start to run thin. As for Snowing, I think their chemistry is practically magical when it's at its best but the writing is just killing them right now. I'm hopeful the writers will smooth this out more in S4.
  8. Personally, I was OK with them killing Neal off. I think the creators recognized that Neal wasn't working, his backstory in particular made him kind of a douche. There would either have had to be a ton of retconning or a few very Neal-centric stories to help rebuild his character and I don't think they had time to give this (unpopular?) character that much extra focus. Just my guess, apologies to anyone who loved Neal. I will say I love the idea of Neal. Having Bae grow up, meet Emma, and become Henry's father could have been all kinds of awesome. But the way it was told, not so great in my opinion. So I'm OK with letting Neal go.
  9. Yeah, but ending up in a bottle sounds like the kind of open-ended fate they would probably like to give a good villain. Well, I guess we'll know how it goes down in a few days.
  10. Crap! Oh, no, if that happens he so isn't ending up in oblivion, he's ending up in Storybrooke. NOOOooooo!
  11. Dark Helmet: So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb. It's pretty bad. Well, they have one final episode to give it their best shot. I kinda want Jafar to die, but I can't decide who I want to kill him. So many choices.
  12. First let me say that I must be odd too, because Belle's Storybrooke clothes are some of my favorites. It did kinda bug me that originally they put Belle in such short skirts and heels all the time, even when she was sneaking onto a pirate ship, but I've assumed her FM heels are a product of making her sexy and also to give her more height since she's 5'2". Fine, I can live with that, and her Enchanted Forest cloak is still my favorite piece of clothing on this show ever. That said, the hot pants in the Enchanted Forest in the snow just was a huge WTF moment for me. Oh, but Snow's maternity clothes, I thought those have been really beautiful on her.
  13. InsertWordHere, I think it would be difficult for them to argue Regina was able to raise him better, as he needed therapy when Regina raised him, and even Dr. Hopper had mentioned Regina's attempts to bring them closer over the years had only failed. Plus, since Regina put Henry's current memories in his head, she technically raised him this time too, as Emma's parenting skills only influenced him for the last year. I just hope we don't waste any time with Henry being mad at Emma once he gets his memories back, blaming her for not telling him sooner or something like that.
  14. Gotta say, I'm not feeling it yet with Regina/Robin. Maybe they'll wow me in future episodes but for right now I'm pretty lukewarm towards that pairing. I did have a poster mention to me that it was not explicitly stated that Robin was Regina's true love, but that he was her happy ending? If I'm remembering their post correctly. And that a happy ending could mean something else, like maybe they help each other find their way to happiness, even if that happiness is maybe loving someone else? I think THAT would actually be kind of cool, but I don't know if that's the way the show is going. My feeling is they are setting them up for smoochies.
  15. Me neither. At first I thought maybe they were going to get Amara to return the water, and in doing so her sons would be released from their bottles and that is why Cyrus was stealing them? But if Amara was key (whether in human or staff form) for Jafar to complete his spell, then it boggles my mind that Team Alice once again conveniently provided Jafar with everything he needed -- he didn't even have to leave the damn castle, or the room! Amara should have created a distraction to lure him away from the castle or at least that room so Cyrus could steal the bottles. How ridiculous to have him stealing the bottles a few feet from where they were battling. Still not sure how Jafar's dad fits into their plan. Does the Jabberwocky remind anyone else of Chiana from Farscape (makeup-wise)?
  16. Word. There have been a few Emma scenes that make me tear up, especially the pilot episode where she mentions being sent back into foster care at the age of three and the S2 scene in her nursery where she tells Snow she's not used to someone putting her first. You're right for all Regina's tears, and as much as I enjoy Lana as Regina, I don't think a Regina scene has ever actually made me cry...or sniffle...or even blink strenuously.
  17. Her skin was bugging me and I finally realized what it was: it is shimmery/metallic. The OUAT makeup department really likes their glitter stuff. In my opinion, they should have left her makeup matte, then maybe it would have come closer to looking like real skin (albeit green) but going with a metallic/shimmery green makeup just makes her skin look shiny instead, adding to the cheap Halloween makeup effect.
