  1. I don't know. Her lawyers could certainly be meeting them in the lobby. I don't think Bradley and Hal were summoned to the FBI, right? They decided to turn themselves in. The media wouldn't know about that, unless someone told them. If there was no appointment, or whatever, there would be nothing to leak to the media. I haven't made up my mind about the Alex/Paul stuff yet. I do see your point, but I also think the writers, directors, Aniston, and Hamm did a decent job of showing us that both Alex and Paul were smitten with each other and surprised by that. I think it threw them both off of their game. I never thought the show tried to tell us Mitch was decent either, though. Even Mitch knows some of what he did was dead wrong. We could see it in season one (I think), in his scenes alone with the Martin Short character.
  2. I think each one I read, when I read it, got me the most.
  3. Okay, and here is Lisa Kudrow's Matthew Perry tribute on Instagram. Text reads: That's really sweet. I feel so bad for the whole cast. I didn't bother looking through comments on Jen, David, and Lisa's Instagram posts, but yesterday, sick, entitled people were giving Matt and Courteney grief for not posting soon enough (and worse). It really turned my stomach. I appreciate them sharing their memories with us, but it's not like we have a right to it.
  4. I posted Jennifer's above. Here is David Schwimmer's Matthew Perry tribute on Instagram. The photo he chose is of Ross and Chandler in their Miami Vice-esque attire from their college days. Text reads: Okay, Schwimmer's silly impersonation of Chandler's delivery, just in text, made me tear up.
  5. Jennifer Aniston posted a tribute to Matthew Perry a few hours ago, on Instagram. It has three slides. The first one is a still of Matthew and Jen, from on set. The second is a screenshot of a text exchange between them. The third is a clip of Chandler saying goodbye to Rachel and telling her he loves her. Text reads: I wanted to preserve her words, in case she ever takes it down. Edit: It's not embedding for me. Sorry. Here are the URLs (it's all the same post, but with different images): https://www.instagram.com/p/Czq8K4DMOMQ/?img_index=1 https://www.instagram.com/p/Czq8K4DMOMQ/?img_index=2 https://www.instagram.com/p/Czq8K4DMOMQ/?img_index=3
  6. The hosts of that Mormon Discussions podcast don't watch Sister Wives and didn't have Kody on to talk about the plot of Sister Wives. To the extent they talked about the show, they did so as part of Kody's overall religious journey. Then of course there is the Kody factor. You can't really herd cats or direct Kody's mouth. (About Mormon Discussions ⬇️) In the past, I believe both Bill Reel and "Radio Free Mormon" were LDS apologists, but are now ex-LDS, and I think both were eventually excommunicated for questioning the LDS church. I know Reel was once an LDS Bishop, and one of the reasons he was excommunicated, was that he questioned church teaching about LGBTQ+ people. Reel is or was one of the owners or managers of that pawn shop in St. George, where Mykelti worked with Kody's mainstream LDS friend, Chris, after she dropped out of college. Kody and Christine visited it, on the show, and Kody talked about pawning some watch that Robyn gave him. Mykelti was at first living with or renting from Chris and his wife (who has also been on the show), when she moved to St. George. More about Bill Reel. "Radio Free Mormon" is the name of one of the podcasts that channel puts out, and if I understand correctly, it's also been the longtime online handle of the other guy on the podcast. I believe his real name is Corbin Volluz. I think they had Kody on, because he's known from Sister Wives, but not because they wanted to talk Sister Wives. To them, Kody is interesting because he is known as a Mormon fundamentalist, who at least seems to be questioning his faith, as well as a onetime polygamy activist who is shedding wives like a dog sheds old undercoat, because he only loves one woman. Their angle is the greater Latter-day Saints religious movement, not the pop culture angle. So to sum up: there wouldn't be much content in this for Sister Wives fans, except for those who are also interested in a religious discussion. I watched the whole thing, because the religious angle was what intrigued me in the first place (and I think Sister Wives would have been better if the producers and the Browns were more willing to include frank religious expression, but I'm probably wrong about that). I will say, I found Kody much more human in this podcast episode, than he has been in maybe the past 10 seasons of Sister Wives. He's still an asshat, but he's like the asshat of old, not this new, roided up, patriarch-wannabe jerk we've been getting for the past few years.
  7. Tony recently got job. He's an owner-partner at some chess center near them. He usually leaves their live-watches to go to work.
  8. I don't really think there's anything wrong with Mykelti telling Robyn and Kody before she told Christine. I'm not saying it wouldn't prick at my feelings a little, were I in Christine's shoes, but I don't think Mykelti did anything wrong. When your parents are divorced, you're usually going to tell one parent something, before you tell the other parent, because of the very fact that they are not together. Besides, these kids were raised to treat all the wives as their "moms." In adulthood, Mykelti has chosen to go no-contact with Meri, but she is close to Robyn. Also, they knew they'd be recording the ultrasound reveal to Christine. I can see keeping the twin news a secret until that time.
  9. Gotcha. @NoWhammies, where did you hear that next week is the season finale?
  10. I think that's why we're getting all the contrived events with Christine's crew. I think it's Christine and Janelle's backdoor pitch for a spinoff. Witness: Oh look, the whole family teaches Truely to ride a bike. Christine hosts Valentine's Day decoration craft night with her daughters and their husbands. Christine has a 1970s themed 50th birthday party (NOTE: Christine also had a 1920s themed 50th birthday party that did not get filmed, but some people have put out pictures of it). Christine and Paedon make mock tapioca pudding. Christine and Janelle do lunch with Christine's Flagstaff friends. Christine, Gwendlyn, Janelle, Gabe, Garrison, and Savanah do supper, so they can talk about the Christmas Gift Exchange Group Chat from Hell that we've already talked about in two other episodes. Christine and Janelle travel to Backwater, Wherever, so Janelle can learn to ride an ATV and talk to people who left the AUB. Christine and Janelle have lunch, even though Janelle has always said she doesn't really get in to doing sister wives lunch.
  11. Where did you hear the finale is next week? I don't think so, or that is, TLC hasn't announced a number that I can find. Did they tease next week as if it were the season finale, and I just missed it? Winn and Genielle converted before Kody did, @Granny58. From what I recall, the chronology of conversions from LDS to AUB goes something like this. When Kody was 14 years old, and were all still in the mainstream LDS church, Genielle explained the Doctrine of Celestial Plural Marriage (i.e. "the principle") to Kody and convinced him that it was true (i.e. the correct form of following the teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young). They were all still supposedly LDS when Kody went off to do his mission for the LDS church. In their book, Kody says he went off to south Texas to do his mission at age 19, and was there for two years. While Kody was on his mission, Winn and Genielle were excommunicated from the LDS church and joined the AUB. By the time Kody returned from his mission, his father had married his second wife, Bobbie. (Janelle's mother, Sheryl, was Winn's third wife.) Kody was interested in the faith, and started hanging around with plygs, and then he met Meri. He asked for her father's permission to get to know her better, and received it, but hadn't yet converted. I don't think they consider this their courtship. If I recall correctly, they referred to this in their book as "hanging around." Kody eventually decided to convert, was baptized into the AUB, then started courting Meri, and they got engaged a few weeks after (this all happened between Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas 1989). They had their first kiss on New Year's Eve, and got married in April of 1990. Meri was 19. Kody was 21. @ladyscorpio, I agree. Kody in absolutely laden with daddy issues, even now, ten years after Winn's death. Instead of all the shed remodelling bullshit, and umpteen retellings of Meri & Kody's marriage and their anniversary conversation where he told her they were completely over, this is what the show should be concentrating on. They should ask her stuff like: Meri, have you heard from Christine or Janelle? Well, have you reached out to them? Let's do segments where you call them or meet with Janelle for coffee. Do you ever see any of Christine and Janelle's kids in Flagstaff? Why not? Why don't you invite Gwendlyn to lunch and we'll film that? How did you feel when Kody started courting your ex-sister-in-law/landlady Janelle? Did you know about their courtship at first, or did you only find out after the fact? What was your reaction when they wanted to get married on your birthday? There's been lots of talk over the years about how wives sharing kitchens is abusive, and the implication is that you were the abuser -- however, in the Sister Wives book, Christine also complains about how Janelle wouldn't clean up after supper and would let the dirty dishes pile up until morning. Were there situations in which you felt abused? I think Kody married Janelle to teach Meri a lesson (and that's why they originally planned the wedding for Meri's birthday, until Genielle talked them down). I think Kody married Christine for clout in the AUB, as he admits, and maybe he did think adding a third wife would change the dynamic between Meri and Janelle, but I also think it is true that he never did love Christine. I think Kody married Christine so he could achieve that third wife he needed for super special heaven access. She was a box to check off. That was it. And then she gave him five daughters, and only one son, who was nowhere as cool to him as Janelle's four sons were. Robyn was the insurance policy, in case Kody wanted to dump Meri or Christine. He just happened to have the hots for Robyn and did fall in love with her to the extent that he is capable of loving anyone other than himself.
  12. Janelle is 54, fair-skinned, and as far as I know she has lived in the mountains and desert for most of her adulthood (not to mention she has had six kids). I think she just doesn't have makeup on and didn't do herself up. Restaurant portions are ridiculous, aren't they? My husband I went out for dinner a week ago. I got chicken parm with spaghetti, ate plenty, boxed up the rest, and ate half of what I brought home for lunch the next day, and ended up throwing out the other half. I never eat my full order at a restaurant, but I order what I want, and don't box up half the plate immediately, because then the box takes up table space for the entire meal, which really gets on my nerves. I typically eat about 1/3rd to 1/2 (depending on what it is), and ask to box up the rest at the end of the meal.
  13. It's so dumb, isn't it? I believe it is production-dictated. They also put a pregnancy pillow on Robyn for couch segments (or maybe even a Tell-All episode) after the birth of either Solomon or Ariella (I can't recall which). The production does it to hide how far behind they are, and how long it takes between filming the sort of candid reality scenes and the interview segments. Basically, the production is covering up its lack of a work ethic. That the candid reality scenes are neither candid nor real is neither here nor there, but they're low on both candor and reality.
  14. Janelle didn't say Christine introduced her to her boyfriend Kody. Janelle framed herself as a friend of Meri's family, and said that Meri introduced her to boyfriend Kody. I agree with the rest of your criticism on this point. Janelle's fuzzing up the facts just makes her look like a dishonest broker. Not only do we all know Janelle was first married to Meri's (now recently deceased) brother, Adam, it has been spoken of on the show at least once, but most of the time, Janelle pretends she was just a family friend. She also pretends she was at Meri and Kody's wedding as just a family friend. Janelle likes to frame herself as non-confrontational, but in skimming through their book, and even just watching her over the seasons on Sister Wives, she also struck me as passive-aggressive and sneaky. I have a lot of sympathy for Robyn's kids (and for all of the Brown's kids). Robyn is Aurora's mom. Think of all the b.s. Robyn has spewed on this show over the years in an attempt to manipulate people into thinking she is the one trying to fix the family, and that she's the great communicator, and that she's the one who wants to sit on the porch with her SOB sister wives and their kids SOB and grandkids. Aurora just believes Robyn's schtick, because Robyn is her mom. I'm sure Robyn has convinced her own self of her own schtick, too. Janelle hasn't gone to church, but that's because they moved away from their very small, very fringe church. It's not like there's an AUB meeting house in every town. Janelle might be something of a cafeteria Mormon fundamentalist, but she still believes in the basic worldview. Her marital status to a Mormon fundamentalist man holds in the keys — in Janelle's eyes — to her eternal fate, including the level of heaven she can attain, as well as whether or not she'll be reunited with her children, and her mother, in the afterlife. To Janelle's understanding, "divorcing" Kody isn't just about freeing herself from a malignant narcissist who mistreats her, her sister wives, and their children. To Janelle, it's about Forever.
  15. From @Orcinus orca in the Live Chat thread: When Christine left, she traded her share of Coyote Pass for the family's share in her home (funds from Meri and Janelle's sale of their Vegas properties helped to fund Christine's purchase of her Flagstaff home and the purchase of Robyn's McMansion). Meanwhile, Coyote Pass, as they bought it, is/was only four lots. Christine is out of the financial picture, and there are only four adults now involved in the ownership of the property.
  16. Right, but Meri and Janelle are saying that while their names aren't on any plot alone, they should have each had 1/4th, and Kody confirmed that on camera. Then they have the money trail (how much they put into the family pot, versus how much they took out). It's leverage to help them get their fair share from Kody and Robyn.
  17. I'm glad the producers got Kody on screen saying Meri, Janelle, he, and Robyn each own 25% of that property.
  18. I think it's interesting that Christine's brother (Steve?) from her own mom said their house was hard, and tense, and he gets why polygamy was made illegal, but Christine grew up and thought it was a party and aspired to it. Is that a thing in reality TV? In scripted series, if a person is a series regular (which all of the Brown parents are on this show), screen time isn't part of the calculation. I think it's a producer problem, though. They're reusing and reusing footage. That's not Meri's fault.
  19. It's amazing to me that (to varying extents), Meri, Janelle, and Christine were all willing to put up with their interpersonal difficulties, and their jealousy, but Kody couldn't handle maintaining pre-existing relationships, once he met Robyn. I think they're all better off without him, but it's still hard to even try to see things from his point of view.
  20. It's ridiculous, and it just makes her look dishonest.
  21. Janelle also told Christine that it had been 10 months since Kody had been at her house. I think they meant it had been that long since he had been in residence with her (I'm trying to be delicate) as her husband.
  22. It was almost too on the nose, right? FT?
  23. What the hell was up with Truely biting Ysabel's elbow and continually poking her in the face? She is too old for that.
  24. Ysabel looks so uncomfortable during this whole Christine dating talk.
  25. Avalon is just beautiful. I think so, but they've bounced back and forth. this season. They're catching up, but the scenes haven't been chronological.
