  1. Ah ha, knew I'd find it on the computer - phone wasn't cooperating. Here's a blog about The Kitchen Sink Premiere: http://blog.foodnetwork.com/fn-dish/2016/05/what-to-watch-may-14-15/ And the show schedule here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/the-kitchen-sink.html The good news is it looks like the same hosts but they're kind of rotating them through. The first episode was Sunny, Jeff, and Marcela, and the next one is Jeff and Marcela. The rest seem to be GZ and Katie Lee. Surprised Sunny isn't on more. Is she busy with something else?
  2. Argh I wrote up a reply to this earlier and I'm not sure what happened to it. My phone was being weird so that's probably it. I apologize if this is somehow a repeat but I don't think so. Anyway, I've BEEN that child with the disability. I was a little older than Ali when I got sick, but I could really relate to her feelings. Even before I could return to school, my classmates would invite me to events so I was there for "Sports-o-Rama," the Thanksgiving Turkey run, etc. I was in a wheelchair full time so I couldn't do much in the way of the activities, but I handed out popsicles to my friends when they got back from the track. Sometimes I loved being part of it, sometimes it got to be too much and I ended up sobbing and going home. For literally years I had dreams about what it must be like to have normal strength and be able to run, and those events always made them more vivid. (for that matter I'm still way weaker than an average person and I still can't run, but the dreams stopped eventually) I wish they'd give her a choice of what she'd like to do. Maybe she really does want to be there with her sister, even if it's hard for her. There are still things she could do that would be participating, like for example using her crafty skills to make practice pom poms or decorations for the walls. She could also do "seated cheer" and just do the upper body parts. As others have mentioned yes she'll start seeing the differences in what she can and can't do more and more, but I actually think that's a pretty "safe" environment to see it and start adjusting as opposed to in front of a whole bunch of kids who may or may not be kind and tactful. Or if she doesn't want to be there, maybe it could be her special night to do something with a friend or relative - something just for her that doesn't involve the doctor. I was originally thinking take her out for ice cream or something but then realized a fresh fruit and veggie tray might be a bigger treat. Also, why haven't they shown her in Choir again? Seemed like a perfect activity for her. Art class seems like a good idea, too. Along the lines of the fruit/veggie thing I even thought an age-appropriate cooking class. She does seem to care what she eats, so she might like that.
  3. I loved it when he asked Gracie if she wanted to wear Camo and her response. Speaking of which, I don't know why I hadn't noticed it before but Gracie's behavior was so much better than it's been in this episode. Wonder how long they'd been living under the new arrangement at this point.
  4. That's what I originally thought but looked it up on Food Network and it's listed as a new show that debuted on the 15th. They have several episodes listed out.
  5. Chelsea I normally can't snark on her baby voice but it was so ridiculously over the top in that board cutting part. Then she switches to basically normal tone to talk about Aubree's eye issues. Why can't she use that tone more often? I was glad Chelsea was kidding about the outfit, especially after I saw the snow on the ground. Poor Aubree at the eye doc. She was doing so well til they got to the dilation part. And I must say, my inner kid reacts the same way to those drops, even though I sit quietly and get them anyway. She looked adorable in her new glasses. Jenelle OMG. Listening to them talk in the first segment about Barb keeping Jace from Jenelle and <sigh> yet again the "getting Jace back" (WHEN YOU NEVER HAD HIM BY THE WAY!) line. I love how Jenelle says she didn't even say anything about Jessica and in the next breath says "all I said is it would be nice if they would drop the charges." Yeah because that's not about Jessica, right? And then later, they encourage Kai to just wander across the couch until he falls. At least he wasn't in a playpen I guess. Uh oh Jace totally busted Jenelle and David for sleeping all day. Poor Barb, it must break her heart. I didn't quite understand all the police drama though. I think there must have been more not shown. Kail With Lincoln and Isaac awww. It's weird knowing what's going on in real time and then watching this episode where Javi's planning a girls night for Kail. I don't know why she had to be bitchy about it and say "he wouldn't take us out if he was here." ETA: at least she seemed to have the good sense to thank him and not be rude about it. Leah Loved seeing Ali and Gracie at Corey's house. Then switch to Leah's where she's feeding the kid canned icing. What's Corey's line? "Jesus God Leah"? Of course you see where she gets it from when her own Mom is like "just make sure she eats it at the table." Then all of a sudden when talking with Mama Dawn it was like Leah completely lost the ability to form a thought. "We can rema <pause> remain..to have a good great coparenting skills." I think they should've reshot that one, but maybe it was the best they could get. Poor Ali at cheer. I wonder if she'd be better off with a sitter or if it'd be worse for her to miss it entirely. I kept wondering if she should even be doing the tumbling considering she's supposed to be in the wheelchair. I hope they at least asked the doctor. It was neat seeing Gracie do so well and have fun though. hahaha apparently Leah's lawyer didn't know the laws in West Virginia. Too bad Corey's lawyer didn't realize it sooner and write the paperwork himself. I can't believe Leah was blaming Corey for the whole thing when it was a legal deal, not something Corey particularly wanted to file. And then she wishes him dead. Nice.
  6. Did anyone catch this new show, The Kitchen Sink? I just caught the very end of it by accident and was surprised to see The Kitchen hosts on another very similar show.
  7. Yep! I loved her accent the first time and it caught my attention immediately on Cutthroat. She's one I always thought could do better on Food Network Star if she had some coaching and guidance. She just really needed better focus, I think (if I remember right, it's been awhile).
  8. Or just play it safe and eat a mint if you're worried about your breath.
  9. Since she was mentioned earlier in this thread, thought I'd mention Rue was on Cutthroat Kitchen last night.
  10. I was wondering the same thing. It used to be Katie eating every single thing the second it was served, if not before it was even plated. Now they seem to be having Sunny do it. Kind of weird.
  11. Well because he was obviously a pervert and a molester if he was gay, right? <eyeroll> Can't have someone like that around the children.
  12. @Mondrianyone I agree, but they've barely even been giving actual ingredients for quite awhile now so I guess removing quantities is the next natural step. Every recipe is "use this, or you could use this, or this would be good, or you could try this... okay back to the recipe. Add X, or you could use Y, or Z..." Seriously by the time they're done I can barely remember what actual ingredients were supposed to go in there. Then there was Mauro's brilliant reminder about not using peanut butter in that banana/peanut butter ice cream recipe if you're allergic to peanuts. Whew, thanks Jeff - might've saved someone's life on that one. Guess anyone allergic to bananas but ok with peanut butter is out of luck ;) . I was surprised they didn't do a 2-'ingredient' recipe with the two ingredients being a container of flavored yogurt and an ice pop maker. Voila, frozen yogurt. I had started to like the last few episodes more again but definitely did not like this one at all.
  13. That camp made no sense to me. There are adults who like to camp and those who don't - I'm in the latter group so maybe that's part of my resistance to it, but I was having a hard time understanding what made it different. A few more activities to do I guess, in the "off season" of course. And I totally agree on the liability. I was really surprised they barely touched on that. I was also thinking that all it'd take is one group of heavy drinkers and their profit would be gone for that group. The giant Ziploc bag for cars also didn't make much sense to me. Maybe I'm picturing bigger floods than what it's intended for, but I was picturing the air trapped inside the thing causing the bag with the car inside to float and start banging into things. of course, that's assuming no leaks. I was wondering if it had a weight or tether or something on it. I wish the Lacrosse girl well in the long run. That much ambition at her age is great to see. Seemed like she had some ideas for how to expand as well, so that was good. The pinball machine was kind of neat but didn't seem proprietary enough, and personally if I'm going to get something like that I think I'd want the real thing.
  14. Thanks for sharing your experience with it! I can actually see it making way more sense in a small daycare setting like what you're describing.
  15. Agreed. I ended up sprinkling some butter and more salt on it, and I still didn't like it much. It reminded me of the remnants at the bottom of the movie popcorn where you're trying to decide if it's really worth eating anymore or not (except the movie popcorn remnants have more flavor).
  16. I don't think she's anywhere near responsible enough to take a daily pill, but what did she say she was already on last time they asked her? Anyone remember? They always say something and it's usually an IUD, or that one that I can't think of the name that gets embedded in your arm. I thought most of them were on 5 year things. Wonder what happened there.
  17. I am hoping the breeding has gotten better for these. About 15-20 years ago I had a couple of different friends get "miniature" pigs and the only reason they were "miniature" is the feeding instructions that came with them. They were literally starving ALL THE TIME. They ended up squealing and screaming unbearably. Luckily the one friend's Aunt had a farm and she agreed to take both pigs. They put them on a regular diet and whaddaya know, they were full size pigs in no time and so much happier. Pete does seem to be small and not starving, so hopefully those are good signs.
  18. I did a little bit of Googling on this today and it looks like she had a miscarriage with Courtland, but called Gary to be there with her in the hospital while she miscarried. Then I believe later she aborted a second one from Courtland. ETA: so I think that's two soulmates she hasn't been pregnant from - Gary and Keefah? Although I don't recall her being with Gary very long. I think he was too calm.
  19. Wow, it's seriously depressing - though not surprising - to know she's pregnant again. This makes what, 4 baby daddies that we know of? (counting the baby she aborted) Yikes. Poor kids, all of them.
  20. haha thank you Rcharter. See, proof! ;) I fixed my post so as to avoid confusing anyone. I think you're right it's being pushed by production. Plus he seems like one of those guys that would go after the vulnerable girl, and use her vulnerability to his advantage, sadly.
  21. I think either I'm getting too old for this show or it's starting to suck more over time, not sure which. Everything else I was thinking's pretty much already been said, but I just had to comment on Jenna's whole Dylan's in loooooooovvve with me (which I never exactly heard him say, but boy was she sure). Then she was all cocky about how she would never cheat but she might break up with Austin, if she wanted to do anything with Dylan. Then poof, Dylan breaks up with HIS girlfriend and suddenly Jenna's all giddy and ready to do whatever. Huh??? What happened to breaking up with Austin first? I also get a really shady feeling about that Dylan guy. Something just seems too weird about his fake sounding accent, instantly glomming on to Jenna, etc. I'm curious what else we're going to learn about him. I have a feeling there's more to come about that guy.
  22. I'm really not sure and was hoping someone else would know. The timelines are so screwy.
  23. No kidding! I thought that silent moment they did was really touching, but it didn't make up for what even I (a complete non-dancer) could see was not very good dancing at all. I also agree it would've been better with just Nyle and Peta.
  24. Same here. I can't believe they didn't off him right then and there. If nothing else just it was a good "teaching" moment and they just let it go.
