This episode was a colossal waste of time, but I will treasure Hook's disgusted expression when he heard about Gold Queen. I mean, yeah, the Emma/Hook scene was sweet, and it's great Snowing still love each other, but it all felt like a retread.

I shouted "GROSS!" when EQ kissed Rumpel. To think Regina had that simmering under the surface all this time ... ew. I am a little confused about whether or not Nemo knew in advance that Hook was Liam 2.0's brother/the one who killed his father. I assumed that was why Nemo picked him up in the first place, but then it almost seemed like Nemo didn't know. (I would prefer Nemo knowing over him just randomly picking up revenge-bent people, especially with all his pointed talk of "family.") I wonder if Liam 2.0 will be sticking around -- if so, I hope he shows a little more depth (heh). I am glad Nemo actually got saved because of coming to Storybrooke (modern medicine, yay). Belle's ambivalent feelings about her relationship with Rumpel but uncertainty about how she wants their son to relate to him were really good, I thought. (Also kinda glad she didn't see the EQ/Rump kiss because, like I said, ew, and I'm glad she doesn't have a reason to get jealous over him or something.) I've been liking her this season. I also really liked that Emma immediately understood and accepted Hook's reasons. Though obviously from the last scene, they should've just held on to those shears ...

I really liked Jasmine and Aladdin -- might be biased because Aladdin was the first movie I remember seeing in a theater. Also, I wasn't paying very close attention to the last 20 minutes or so because I was talking to my mom; gotta rewatch it later. Obviously, it doesn't compare to the movie, but for this show, I thought they didn't do a bad job. Aladdin's accent was a little weird, though. (It almost sounded like he was trying to imitate Rumpel at times.) I literally lol'd at the scene of Archie playing babysitter.

Surprised and disappointed that Hyde met his doom so quickly. I was really enjoying him both on his own and with EQ (though the flashback story was pretty meh). So much for Hyde Queen ... I liked pretty much all of Belle's scenes, both with Hook and Rumpel. Honestly I wish she had acted like that with him ages ago (and I say that as someone who used to really like the pairing). And finally, Jasmine and Aladdin! Having last seen Karen David in Galavant, I kept half expecting her to make a wisecrack or start singing.

I also thought this was better than the pilot. Hayes was more likable, and the case went in a direction I wasn't expecting. I liked that the victim was right that revealing her information would hurt her reputation (and to be honest, if we assume she really had amnesia, all she had to go on was the word of her co-worker that they had sex in a bar bathroom that was rough enough to look like rape to medical professionals), and I liked that Hayes properly felt bad about it. I still don't particularly care for the love interest DA (though I did like Hayes reaction to him near the end of the episode) or Hayes' brother, who's a little too much in the role of "supportive best friend" (or something; maybe I'm just jealous that my brother never initiates spontaneous dance parties).

I really liked this episode, which feels kind of shocking. The Cinderella flashbacks were solid enough and in the present day we had some good forward movement with Emma's savior plot and Emma and Hook's relationship. Best of all, other than the nerve wracking moment at the end, this episode was not a downer to watch. Please, more like this!

Like practically everyone else, I'm here because I miss Hayley Atwell being on my TV. That said, I guessed from the trailers that this would not be great, and ... yeah. It was not great. Especially all the quick-cutting at the beginning, which made things confusing rather than interesting (or whatever they were going for). But on the bright side, it was more meh than outright horrible, so I am definitely willing to give it a few chances (or at least leave it on in the background). Hopefully like Hayes (I think) said, we'll see a good variety of cases, and not just "happy endings."

Disappointed in the treatment of the Count of Monte Cristo. I'm a fan of the book/character, and I wasn't expecting much but ... being killed by a flying sword thrown by Regina, really? It also majorly downplayed the brilliance/intricacy of his revenge plots; simply murdering somebody at a party isn't his style at all. Why bother even using that particular character for something so simple? And what world was that supposed to be? How did Regina even get there and know who should be on his revenge list? (I know, TS;TW don't care.) Also weirded out by the Rumpel/Regina scene. I guess it was nice to hear Regina say "I'm sorry." And Emma trying to get help by talking to Archie. I guess other than that I'll just be here waiting for Aladdin and Jasmine to show up.

This sounds interesting to me -- could you offer any more information on 'Anne'? I tried looking it up but unfortunately I couldn't find any results that sounded remotely similar (it was all "Annie," "Anne of Green Gables," Anne Frank, and Anne Hathaway -- Anne is certainly a popular name). ETA: Never mind, from kitlee625's post, sounds like this is a Buffy episode! That would explain why I was having trouble :) As for me, either this season's plots haven't been catching my attention very much or my brain is more zoned out between 9 and 10 p.m. than I realized. The new director seemed a lot more congenial than I was expecting. I rather like that he's an inhuman, but I expect he'll end up being a bad guy (of course, making your colleagues wait two hours after agreeing to meet them is already pretty dastardly ...).

Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!
Senna replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
I was pretty surprised by the Robin spoiler, especially since Once Upon a Time's Facebook page posted it without so much as a spoiler warning (if I wasn't a follower of spoilers already, I might be a bit upset). The backlash must've been serious enough that they really want to publicize that Robin will be back. I always preferred the idea of Robin and Regina (potential) over the reality given in the show (cryptsex and about nothing else), and I don't really see TS;TW doing anything amazing with ghost Robin or whatever. So I'm kinda glad he's staying "dead." But hopefully those who are fans of Robin will have some closure? -
Suuuuure Snow.

S03.E21: Forgiven / S03.E22: Ascension

I believe this was the same orange goo the ATCU was suspending inhumans in back in the first part of this season. -

So happy Mack finally got a proper shotgun-axe! I literally squeed out loud when it made its appearance. Also happy he didn't die. (Also happy May didn't die, and a bit sorry I had that bit of speculation stuck in my brain all episode.) Of the core cast, Lincoln is probably the one I would miss the least (other than Daisy and Coulson, but I don't expect them to bite it ever); not because I dislike him exactly, but I feel like he wasn't used very well, and his romance with Daisy didn't do much for me either. He had a good sendoff though, which helps. (I realized that every single show I watched this season had a "good guy" character die, and I'm pretty sure this was the most well done of them.) Honestly with the death threat hanging over the episode, I felt a bit distracted. I did like the interactions between Mack and Elena, Fitz taking out Giyera, Simmons sciencing out the primitives, and pretty much everything with the crazy scientist dude (Radcliffe?), who lightened the mood greatly. Glad it looks like he's sticking around. Do we know what happened to Hellfire (or whatever he decided to call himself)? I wouldn't mind his returning either. The six months later epilogue gave me a bit of whiplash. I was thinking Daisy's look was supposed to be a disguise -- the hair was pretty obviously a wig (both by looks, and, unless Daisy gained additional abilities, because hair doesn't grow that fast). It didn't really inspire much feeling in me, but uh, glad Ward's gone at least? (And hopefully not recreated in a LMD or whatever.) ETA: I *am* disappointed after spending much of the season on this whole "powerful inhuman on another planet inspired deep devotion in HYDRA for centuries" plot that ... we never got to see *how* that happened. How did Hive gain a cult while on another planet? What did he do on this one to get exiled? I don't exactly want him back to tell us, but ... ugh. ETA2: Per the recap, I guess James/Hellfire is dead? I must've been really tuned out during that scene, because the only part I remember is Lincoln getting the exploding thingy in his side. -
OUAT vs. Other Fairy Tales: Compare & Contrast
Senna replied to Camera One's topic in Once Upon A Time
Probably either anime or fantasy fiction for me. -
Any sadness I might have felt at Simon dying was outweighed by my relief that Tate Ellington can now find a better show. (Why did Alex get to say "I love you" to Simon? I understand the "We love you," but an "I love you" from her felt really weird.) It's not that I was exactly expecting a lot, but I still feel disappointed somehow. It was just kind of boring. Liam's motives felt very weak. Of course, now we can write off the boneheaded exercises and contradictory life lessons as his less ostentatious way to screw up the FBI in the long run. (A lot of them were Miranda, but never mind that.) Oh, I guess we also found out that Charlie died. They hadn't said that before, had they? Looks like next season will have Claire Haas as the big bad. I don't think I'll be back (unless I get really desperate, or unless they keep this at the same timeslot and put something I'm interested in on ahead of it ... ).

S05.E22: Only You / S05.E23: An Untold Story
Senna replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Once Upon A Time
So this was basically all setup for next season, and I gotta say, a part of me is looking forward to whatever "untold stories" Hyde has brought along with him. I mean, realistically most of them will be duds, but I have hope (!!!) The steampunk world stuff in this episode was fun. Meanwhile, Henry proved once again he possesses the Heart of the Truest Dumb, because all the bad stuff that happened was all his fault. Except using the potion on Regina. Which was about as stupid as trying to destroy magic. Alas! I think the livechat helped me enjoy this episode a lot more than I would've otherwise, so thanks, guys! -
Regina should've said, "I'm going to Disney World!"
-
Well, I guess the reference was cute, but here's yet another person jumping between realms ...
-
This idea is right up there with the eggnapping "She might not be totally good" idea ...
-
OH NO.
-
Even Regina needs alcohol to get through this episode.
-
Ugh, Henry is SUCH a brat.

I wonder if Violet has realized that the magic going away means she can never go back to Camelot. I guess she is ~blinded by love~

As someone who works at a library ... like a library would leave a huge pretty room full of stuff that "nobody has read in years" LOL SURE.
