  1. I agree - growing up - I wanted to be an astronaut, a teacher, a nun LOL and a vet. I ended up going to school to be a radiologic technologist - but in truth - I was happy just being married and being a mom. Our parents can guide us and in so doing make decisions that they think are in our best interests - but in the long run - once we hit puberty - we have our own ideas.
  2. But was that what Chloe really wanted? We sit and quarterback - myself included - but we never think about what the kids want. I danced for 12 years and am happy for all my experiences but that wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. Just the latest episode = Maddie admits given the choice of a movie or dance - she'd rather act - even though for the past 5 years - dance was her life. I think Christi like Holly. Kira and Kelly has let their children decide what's important to them and has not pushed them - unlike Jill who continues with the Kendall K BS.
  3. That's where I'll disagree with you Sofia as I thought Chloe was an exceptional dancer and enjoyed watching her more than Maddie, Per her wicki - she's taking classes 10-15 hr a week with Studio 19 - which is where Kendall originally came from I believe. Her choice to only do duets and trios is because she did not want the " Maddie vs Chloe" saga to continue after she left the ALDC - which to me is very well thought out and mature - she wants to move on. I actually enjoy the Studio 19 numbers as they showcase more as far as dance and I think Chloe has improved tremendously - but every one has different opinions and I respect yours.
  4. Looks like Nia is performing at the premiere of high strung movie - whatever that is with her "crew" - so I'm assuming she's singing and dancing. As a matter of fact it looks like the dress she wore to the Kid's Choice Awards was designed by Maya from Project Runway Junior. This is what I like about this family and Chloe's family - they seem to be down to earth and close knit - even tho they are portrayed as something other at times on Dance Moms - whereas I find Jill/Kendall and Melissa/Maddie to be more of their true selves on Dance Moms - very haughty and better than everyone.
  5. As I've said though - I don't think that is Nia's lifelong objective. She's going to roll with the punches for now - experience all she can and take the opportunities presented to her because of the show but choose a completely different path for her lifelong career
  6. Janet Jackson first appeared on Good Times in 1977 and then on Different Strokes as Willis's girlfriend. This came about after her mom and the girls moved to CA to be with the brothers who had made it as the Jackson 5. When I look at Miley or Britney - Nia to me has it all over them on personality, likeability and singing - but I really wouldn't wish that type of stardom like that on anyone as she like Chloe are very nice intelligent young women. I think Nia not being as close to the other girls was because - unlike many of the others - Nia was involved in a lot of outside activities besides dance while they were in Pittsburgh and that has been talked about in her and Holly's talking heads. I think that Holly wants to make any opportunities available to Nia that she may wish to pursue but in the end - I see Nia, enjoying her 15 minutes of fame, and going back to get an education and becoming a professional. I don't see any of the girls having life long careers based on Dance Moms. Maddie will be popular for another couple of years and then fade into the background like the majority of child actors. Her success now to me at least is not unlike a winner of The Voice or American Idol or the star on the High School Football Team - they're popular for awhile and then you can't even remember their name. Except for a few of those winners - you never hear about them any more - or what you do hear is far and few between. Loved Daughtry - he was hot - now where is he?
  7. Wow - Maddie is a great dancer but the faces in the video really distract me and do to that ever since the 1st Sia video - I haven't liked them Now how did I miss the Todrick video 2 years ago? This I actually thought was cute!
  8. http://www.ysbnow.com/en/ Ot's a new twitter platform kind of like a Star Magazine for teens and tweens
  9. Maddie may be doing well - but Chloe continues to also get noticed and she's meeting people who may boost her career too.
  10. Being Maddie has had 6 yrs of "performing" on Dance Moms and this is only Brynn's first year of reality TV - I'm sure she'll improve. I have never been a Maddie fan but now actually enjoy her performances because she's had some outside training and has improved, but both Brynn and Chloe were more proficient dancers in my opinion - they both have the long limbs where each line is pronouced.
  11. I don't think Nia does bad at hop hip - kendall is a disaster tho!
  12. I actually thought all the girls did well in the group routine. The only thing that stood out was Mac's back hair piece. I felt horrible for Nia being put on the spot like that with 1 day to learn a dance and even though she messed up - my eyes were o her - just like they were on Kalani in practice. Kendall is a non-entity to me - I don't even see her anymore. If Jill thought that Kendall becoming Maddie's best friend after Chloe left would open doors for her - she was wrong. Despite Chloe's eye - she was still a beautiful girl inside and out and a beautiful dancer. I agree with the above poster that Kendall is no where near the top and in my mind is probably at the bottom. Nia may not be the best dancer but her personality and facial expressions more than make up for the dancing.
  13. Each week I shake my head - how many studios were at that competition besides the ALDC - 2? Were there any other duets in the teen category besides the ALDC teams? No way did Kendall and Nia come in 2nd with what was shown on TV. OK - yet another "sponsored" competition - https://www.facebook.com/fiercedancecomp/photos/a.723351497749043.1073741829.478783972205798/971853952898795/?type=3&theater I actually hope Jill and Kendall don't come back. Mac - maybe a Disney or Nickelodeon gig - and as much as I like Maddie - using kids as judges to me is bonkers - whether it be in competition or on shows. The women are delusional thinking that Kira should leave the baby - I'm sure they wouldn't. And both Jill and Melissa are the biggest brown nosers every seen on TV - to attack Ashley like that. I'm not an Ashley fan but - I'm sick of the moms always attacking the new mom in the pack. Maybe next season it will be all about the new minis.
  14. My girl Chloe - still rocking it! She's been busy this month - youtube video of photo shoot and 90 degree website with finished photos. https://www.90degreebyreflex.com/
  15. OMG - I didn't think much of Jojo's or Mac's dances but Nia's was a joke! WTH - she's much better than that which has been shown many times before. Looking at that dance 0 no she wouldn't be a candidate for Broadway - but I don't see Nia using dance much in her future. She'll either get into singing or acting or when the show ends pursue college. It's kind of sad that Jojo said how the others are treated differently than she and Nia. Use the show as it uses you and in the end - you'll be the better for it.
  16. Maddie's latest Capezio video - I really like it even tho I have never been a real fan of Maddie's. I do think she is doing much better without Abby's influence and growing leaps and bounds.
  17. RC - the whole thing was staged - Kira's Dance Studio was competing at Sheer Talent along with the ALDC - see the link above. Kira wasn't going anyplace but back to her studio's dressing room.
  18. https://www.sheertalentltd.com/index.php/results/phoenixresults.htmlThese are the actually results from this week's competition. As you can see - Adage- teacher Kira Girard also participated. This article will explain more about Kira, Kalani - Club Dance and Adage - http://www.ibtimes.com/why-did-kalani-hilliker-leave-dance-moms-mom-kira-girard-speaks-out-1649392- so the whole premise that Kira is coming back or next week's scenerio - If Ashley stays - I'm leaving is all a farce. Kira is not going to leave her boyfriend / husband ( don't know if they're married yet ) and new baby or 6 yr old son - so this episode next week will just be another farce. I actually wish that they had continued with the minis and have said before that bringing in a new junior squad would bring some life into the show. Maddie's got her fame and the kids are getting older. Let them enjoy the teenage years while they still can. The one with the most to lose if that happens - Jill and Kendall. I think the rest of the girls can carry on with their projects or just go back to being normal teens - Jill and Kendall - not so much!
  19. You know - the show is far from reality and most of it is scripted or leads the mom in the direction that will cause the most conflict - so even tho there may be some animosity between Brynn and Kalani's moms - I think much of it is amplified by production. Brynn is 12 years old vs Kalani's 15 years so there really wouldn't have been many years of direct competition between the 2. At least where I danced - the girls and guys were within a year or 2 of each other at most in age difference in the classes. The age difference increased with the older dancers but the younger ones were pretty much with kids their own age. Brynn also has had much more exposure than Kalani has had in the real world being part of a group that made it to the quarter finals of America's Got Talent and on youtube. Brynn was always one of the ones Maddie was compared to - so Ashley's responses may very well be due to things perpetrated by Kira to begin with. There is always 2 sides to every story and I try to remember that. May not make me popular but in my younger days I'd get upset having only heard one side of a story and then had to eat crow - there's 2 sides and then somewhere in the middle there is the truth.
  20. Well, I actually like Brynn and her mom. Each and every newbie and their mom have talked about how great their kid is and been trashed for it by the other moms. Let's see - there was Kendall, Peyton, Asia, the whole new squad, Jojo, Kalani and now Brynn - so it's just a repeat scenerio of what we've seen repeatedly for the past 5 seasons. We know that each of these girls - except for Peyton, were wooed to come to Abby's - although we have no idea of the agreements made. They could have been promised the world and then once there - nothing materializes. I don't think Brynn's mom is any different than Asia's mom was, Kira or Jess was when they first joined the group. The funniest moment to me is when Jill is commenting on Debbie Allen's critique of Brynn's dance and lack of expression. Jill calling Brynn boring - when there is no one in all the dancers that have been on the show - more boring than Kendall. Brooke, to me, was never good at emoting but Kendall takes the cake. The other thing I thought was funny is that Melissa was such a lump this episode. She stood with such a disgusted look on her face when the girls were practicing at Debbie Allen's, had no change of face when Debbie watched their routines and again just puckered her lips when the girls were telling Kira about going to Allen's studio. One thing I'd wish they wouldn't do is pan the audience. It's pathetic to see all those empty seats at a supposed competition. After watching the group routine and Abby's lack of fawning over Maddie's return - I wonder if Melissa had her nose out of joint because the episode centered around Kalani and Brynn and not Maddie or Mac? I think that's more the answer than her dedication to Abby. Brynn actually did take first in the pre-teen solo and Kendall took 2nd in the Teen solo behind Kalani with Kalani taking overall. I hate the supposition that Brynn may not be needed because she didn't take first overall - it's such a joke. And as far as Jill saying - Brynn didn't place - there was only 1st overall given out - there weren't 2nd and 3rd places.
  21. Just a couple of comments. 1. Brynn is much more enjoyable to watch at least to me than Maddie. I love her long strong lines. 2. The African dance class being mostly black - no different the the Irish step dance class my nephew is taking being full of white kids of Irish descent. 3. The new mini being late - again production scripted. We have no idea if the girl is from the area, just flew in from out of state and came from the airport, was told to arrive 2 hours late to create drama ect.... It's become so scripted and apparent that it is. The drama about Peyton not being able to keep up - if these new moms are true Dance Moms addicts - they know full well that Mac was excluded from a lot of the dances because she couldn't keep up or they weren't age appropriate in the beginning.
  22. Thanks for the update Holly - love the comments after the aricle! "Pleasure to watch the show when she's not there." Abby can;t afford to quit - not because we'd miss her but because she may have huge fines to pay!
  23. Since this topic is having to do with beauty or cuteness. I thought Mac was always a cutie - but in this last episode without make-up - I though she was anything but. She's growing up and her face has lost that cuteness. I was actually shocked watching the talking head of her and tried to remember what her dad looked like.
  24. To the comment above about Abby and the 6 yr old mini - I actually do think this is the Abby Lee Miller most know. I think she is very strict in having the children know the names of the moves as well as how to do them - but I think stardom did go to her head and for the sake of drama - her character was made to be the big bully. I've no doubt that some of these kids have been traumatized by Abby - but I think it's more that it's hard for most young children to differentiate what's real and what's fake for production. You can tell a kid - hey I'm going to really yell at you - but I'm just kidding - but most will take it to heart especially if the person yelling is convincing. I think because of the closeness Maddie and Abby shared - Maddie knew the difference - Jojo and Kalani went through this to a certain extent on AUDC - so they knew what to expect on the show. Nia is over it but Kendall is very sensitive and everything gets to her. The kid probably has ulcers between Jill's harping and Abby's yelling.
