  1. I just realized, Mark isn't wearing dressy shoes. He's wearing moccasins, for a lack of a better word. Funny, my husband has a pair of house slippers that look like that and we call them his old man shoes and here and old man is wearing some on national television.
  2. I'm finally getting to finish the tell all and Mark said he knew Nikki was the one because she fit like a glove and all I can say is EWWWW! Especially because he has such a tight grip on her during. She's almost sitting on his lap, she's so close to him. I bet that was uncomfortable, especially since you know filming took a lot longer than the 90 minutes we get to see.
  3. I'm sure someone already answered about Mark but I wanted to say GL to your husband. I'm only 42 but have 2 titanium hips myself and know how hard recovery can be.
  4. I truly don't understand this statement. Why wouldn't she be encouraged? Your statements sound more like you're referring to FLDS and not LDS. There are women doctors and teachers and all kinds of careers for women who also happen to be of the Mormon faith.
  5. I do that at the start of each season, until the production driven stuff is either just too much or too obvious.
  6. We hear that on the show because it IS a show. That's the only reason it is said and played out. If you see a couple on your screen taking part in this show you can know that they got married and planned on it all along.
  7. I think it's another production move. Minus the conversion to Mormonism they are a boring (but cute) couple. Lets make her sound all down on herself by saying she's bad and religion saved her. Yup, total production move. While my son doesn't have such a soft voice, a lot of the mannerisms are similar to Josh and every time I see him on screen I think of my son (and his wife). I think they have just as much a chance at making it as any young couple does.
  8. I don't think it's very much and I don't think Sue would like having someone around very often. She's had family members come from time to time to help her but I truly think for her this is a "if I can't do it alone then I don't need to be doing it at all" type thing. That and "hey, we know you're in the middle of chopping this wood, can you tell us WHY you're chopping this wood? Wait, that take was bad, can you tell us again?"
  9. In the show overview that they played before the season started, Glenn says he moved to Alaska 15yrs ago. He mentioned on the first season that he actually goes to and lives in town 70 miles away during Spring so he can spend time with his chid. I'm liking the new guy too. Never did care for Glenn. I just watch his segments to learn about the life.
  10. Except this show was never innocent. It was production driven from the start. TLC ranks right up there with Bravo in that regard.
  11. Like many other shows there is one expected outcome and that is the only acceptable outcome to TLC. The moment one of these couples appears on my tv for this show i know they got married. It's just one of those things. While production may give them lines to read and set up scenes, that's one guaranteed thing about this show. If they are on your screen they are getting married.
  12. I called it a bot because it kept coming back and posting, at times posting multiple times in one day :)
  13. I still don't think he had a drug problem. Many men (and women) say they want or need to improve themselves, make themselves a better person for whatever reason. My husband has made similar statements. They feel like they themselves weren't worth making themselves better for but in my case, I was that person for my husband. Noon is that for Kyle. I loved watching them. Sad that production had to dig up the mom for drama but it's another damned if they do, damned if they don't. People always complain about this stuff but then if we just saw their sweet love story even more people would complain about how boring they are. Aleks and Josh were in the same boat so production played on their religion and her party girl past conflict which as we paid more attention we saw really wasn't a big deal.
  14. I answered elsewhere too but scouted is how, I believe. Before last season had even finished airing, TLC had a bot posting recruitment threads here.
  15. Someone upthread said it sounds like a Long Island accent that she has. And I don't think he was jealous, he said as much. He said he was disrespected and he was. She totally disrespected him. It doesn't matter really whether it was an all female place or not, he asked her not to go and she agreed not to and then did. Disrespected him and lied to him.
  16. They had a recruiter bot posting here before the end of last season.
  17. I think they were playing a sports game (probably soccer) and that's why he said telefutbol.
  18. Looking at that pic I can totally see where Loren gets her looks (from mom) and is definitely not adopted. On a side note just getting to watch the episode and to the part with Kyle and his mom and sadly she reminds me of one of my MILs (I have 2, my husband's mom and his stepmom, it's his mom that is like Kyle's mom). My husband isn't close with his mom either for many of the same reasons.
  19. Yes, it's weird that they didn't since TLC loves to crossover their reality shows. Even the Duggars went to Kleinfeld.
  20. All but one have Gervise as her last name. And most include Nikki Rose in there somewhere/somehow. I do wonder about the one with the different last name. Odd. Also only has one friend?!
  21. I can finally say I am definitely happy to not be in that group because that's just nasty.
  22. I haven't watched the epi yet but have to pipe up and say we don't see all the cast in any episode usually, not even the first of a season. I was sure I saw them and hear Martha's voice in a promo.
  23. I pointed it out previously in another episode thread but his mom has smiled and chuckled with Aleks when she came late to the Scripture reading.
  24. Considering he was helping his family when he was in Jamaica, I don't think he needs to change his beliefs. Clearly he has a strong belief system that, imho, is family oriented. The only thing that needs to change is his status so he can actually work here and help Mel.
