I read that the filmmaker did interview the couple but chose not to use the footage because... the translation was bad or she didn't get what she wanted out of that interview due to bad communication? A more interesting story would be that Gabriel's penis goes out into the sewers and grows into a giant alligator penis and attacks people when it gets loose above ground. But I'm sure whatever they come up with will be as good as that.

This is actually a really good conversation with Del Toro. Turns out he's way more hands-on with this show than I expected, even as far as doing color-correcting on the show and supervising all effects shots. Very hard not to love the guy after hearing him talk for an hour. Now I find myself hoping the show improves dramatically. Oof, characterization on the episodes I've seen so far is pretty terrible. But I'm optimistic that could improve. There are characters on "Walking Dead" who have evolved far beyond their comic book counterparts (or who don't even exist in the comic like Daryl). Very curious what everybody will think about the pilot come Sunday night.

I really struggled with that because I like Donna a lot more than Gordon. That's why she'd be appearing a lot in fantasy/dream/flashback sequences and would return in full for the "Half-Life 2" era of the show. Hell, MAYBE SHE'S CAROLINE, THE INSPIRATION FOR GLaDOS!

Sex Criminals Hawkeye Ms. Marvel Saga Miracleman (having trouble getting into this one; still stuck on first two issues) Walking Dead (just finished Vol. 19 and 20 and will probably continue w/ individual issues from here on out) Started reading the TPBs of "Powers" recently. Own but haven't read yet: East of West, Satellite Sam, Velvet.

The letters column is great. That's one thing I would miss just reading the TPBs.

I'm woefully behind on Runaways, but I did buy that Humble Bundle, so any of those sound great. I've read Saga, but none of the others in that bundle except Walking Dead.

I usually play it on mute. I think you can keep the music and lower the sound effects/voice on it in the settings. I've only played Arena a few times. Have been mostly playing custom decks with Mage, Rogue, Priest and Warrior.

Anybody else completely addicted? I finally unlocked Arena mode and I can see now how people might spend a ton of money on this. So far I haven't spent a dime and have gotten pretty good at earning enough gold to buy card packs every few days.

I'm in the bag for Fraction -- I really like his style of writing and "Hawkeye" is one of my favorites. With this one, I can't really tell where it's going exactly, but the exploration of teenage sexual awakening and the awkward ways it shapes us I'm finding really interesting. The log line I keep seeing is, "Woman's orgasms can stop time, so she starts robbing banks," but that's not really what it's about to me. It's funny, but I feel like there's a lot more going on that the porno puns and inherent sex humor in it.

Matt Fraction / Chip Zdarsky - "Sex Criminals." Trade paperback of the first five issues just came out this week. (though unfortunately it doesn't have the letters column from the individual comics, which are fantastic.)

I'd be interested! Most of the stuff I've been reading I'm caught up on (close to being caught up on Walking Dead next), so I'd love to check something new/different out.
