  1. Closed captioning is a setting on your tv you can turn off or off based on the program you are watching. I am not sure why one program would differ from another in the synchronization of actual words spoken to captions viewed unless the network had something to do with it?
  2. Re the dubbing.....I noticed there is a few seconds delay from the time it is spoken to the time I see it in closed captioning. I noticed that for this show only...Sister Wives, no delay, another TLC show...was watching a movie and the spoken words and caption were also perfectly in sync....it couldn't be more obvious that TLC is leaving room to insert language that isn't there.
  3. Bang on!!! Can this guy breathe way way up there???!!!??
  4. Hey as long as you feed Will you can take him anywhere! With his "ooz" on of course. In Zoey's bed he kept crying for his "ooz" when Jen took them off because they might be dirty...I still laugh hearing him say it....
  5. I too am not a hugger or touchy feely person but around those two, let me at 'em!! LOL I know Jen is smaller and incapable of picking them up but they could kiss her arm too. Well Jen grew up with it as I am sure she was carried around a lot as a child due to her size and surgeries and I have seen both Judy and Dave do hugs and kisses at greetings. Judy hugged Bill at the birthday dinner when she greeted him.
  6. Huh!? Completely agree, put the camera on the kids and walk away! Well since Zoey arrived we have seen her give lots of affection to Bill and of course Will does all the time too. Even when they were packing up at the beach Will inserted his thumb in his mouth like he was tired and went to Bill for a cuddle or to be picked up as they were leaving. It seems odd and unnatural that we have not seen Will or Zoey warm to Jen let alone outwardly display affection unless they are asked for kisses...
  7. To me the dubbing is obvious as it suddently gets loud and very clear with a specific word like Will's uh oh with the shopping and Zoey's yeah plus sometimes they already have something in their mouths.
  8. Proving the scripting by TLC, the viewers laughed endlessly about CECK so let's give them their CECK and eat it too! I hope Bill and Jen are downplaying Will with CECK now that it has made Will famous...hopefully they want him known for more than that.
  9. Will has done that to Bill's arm before, either kissing or licking it and Zoey has obviously picked up that sign of affection, very sweet! I wonder if that is something he did in China as it is not a normal display of affection which is why it is so endearing I guess.
  10. Bill's sneaking back in to get the silver shoes?? WTF?? His comment how Jen would notice them missing, gmab, was she going to be looking for them for a beach trip and in that overstuffed closet of clothes and shoes she would miss a pair....again gmab! If she were on call for a phone consult fine just don't spend so many minutes on air time about it, that was just lame and insulting to the viewers to create drama when we know there is a part 2 and Jen goes nowhere.....
  11. Well she walked into the house and told the cameras about the battery and being on call and it was both Bill and Jen who said is that your pager while being filmed....they are listed as producers so I am sure they have some control as to what is filmed or cut out I would think.
  12. The pager thing was completely unnecessary and just wasted air time, I guess it was once again to show us how important Jen is and I am sure she LOVED that part of the show....her fakeness at being surprised was a bit much....on the couch she continues to say how she knew something was up....yep that girl is smart, nothing gets by her!!! Loved Nai Nai and Grand Baba being there and yes it is clear the mutual love they have for the kids, great to see. Zoey was adorable in the dress shop and loved seeing her just play with the hangers, so normal. Their adding in her "yeah" in the restaurant was another case of TLC adding words that were not there but Bill was just as much a part of that plan by laughing like she really said it. She has a mind of her own and love her saying no all the time. So sweet of Bill to try to insert his personality into Zoey by saying she says no all the time first. If you say so Bill! And inserting Jen into Zoey about the shopping and clothes and on and on he goes! She is only 2 and seems pretty easygoing with what clothes they dress her in and those headbands Jen and other mothers are such fans of. Just a bit of a stretch as she is too young. More TLC drama. Even if Jen takes her shopping and asks her if she likes something I am sure Zoey says NO like any other time. I thought Bill was trying out for comedy hour or something, he seemed to go overboard with the constant jokes during the couch segments especially. I do like the fact his family was invited and appear to have come for the wedding. I saw GB there and the brothers. I also thought Zoey was shown so much more than Will this show and it was nice to see so much of her. She is sweet! I notice Will had his thumb in his mouth a lot more this episode. It seemed every time the camera was on him if he wasn't saying ceck he was sucking his thumb with no one even trying to stop him, they all seem to have accepted it now. I didn't notice Will speaking more clearly at all like others have said. Still one/two words together that were a bit garbled as he does, first letters left off still, you often get the gist of what he is trying to say without clearly hearing him say it. He has hardly improved from what I see and hear. Closed captioning doesn't even pick up some of what they repeat as Will having said it. Zoey will be talking up a storm soon! Maybe that will help Will being around other kids who talk as all the literature says....Will seems to always be with adults and this is not helping him move forward with speech.
  13. I wonder if Grandma Barbara had a say in what she wanted to be called? I mean she might have preferred an endearing name like Nai Nai too as it was her name to give away....
  14. Yep I would rather be called Nai Nai than Po Po...
  15. Well where do I line up to snark!?! Grandma Barbara has rarely been seen to date and this will likely continue unless Jen and Bill move to LI or she moves to Texas...chances=highly unlikely! I am sure Jen picked Nai Nai which sounds so much better than Poo Poo, oops I meant Po Po...where are those Mandarin language police when you need them?! And I wonder what they call Dave?
  16. Makes sense that in their dream home they intend to grow old in they would install an elevator but they are not old yet and use it all the time so I think it "elevated" their house to being a bit more palatial!
  17. I am not criticizing her happiness just her cackly nervous laugh.
  18. Whoa! The recent promos of Jessa show her with bangs and her hair is flat, looks more current and she is HOT! That girl is seriously good looking! Ben can hardly contain himself...
  19. Jen explained the "are you ready" was a tool used in China for time outs with kids. When she asked Will more than once if he was ready he broke the speed of light getting those hands together! I thought it was cute and hilarious and immediately thought wow he is already working her...his eyes got wide when she said it because all he had to do was fold his hands to get his bebe back which worked...Jen said he only did it when he was truly ready and not just to get out of time out....doubt that...and since when do we ask kids if they want/need a timeout....and Zoey learns absolutely everything from watching Will.
  20. Not a meltdown??? Well I would hate to see one if that was just Will asking being told no and moving on!!! It took a full 3 minutes of film time with no interruptions to show us cakegate or Will's meltdown (Jen's word in the segment). I know this is not the thread for that show but it is here so might as well add it.
  21. Yes Will didn't get his way so out came the pouty face and him telling Jen over and over again his one word demand: CECKKK! Jen seems to be of the parenting style of trying to use reason and explanations when a simple yes or no will do.
  22. You are right, I have not heard Bill ask if anything is OK with Will or Zoey. Jen is another story, she has a huge habit of adding OK? to everything! Jen is not deaf though and I believe your situations are not the same, please don't take offence.
  23. I don't believe they are donating their salaries any more than the Roloffs or Duggars are...unless the Duggars are giving the money to the church?! And I think if anyone doing a reality show was solely doing this to educate us then might just back that up by going one step further and saying they are also donating their earnings to xyz cause to make that just a bit more palatable. Good point about the possible lifetime of medical expense debt Jen was left with and has to pay back.
  24. Agree, they are capitalizing on this opportunity as much as anyone else who gets a shot at a show bringing them stardom and $$. And LPBW did give us that education first, Jen and Bill just moved it off the farm and and more upscale. Bill is an entrepreneur and seized an opportunity to go Hollywood! He is even dressing a bit better and commented on it during the last episode I think about how Jen didn't like his clothes/shoes. He looked the same to me, like an unmade bed going out to cut the grass! Unfortunately they will NOT be keeping the kids out of it because it is the kid's who make me tune in. Without those meal tickets the show will come to a close.
