  1. I completely agree. I've been marathoning seasons, so it was so jarring to go from scenes like Leslie's birthday surprise for Ron and all of their interactions on her wedding day to this. I suppose that's the point; Morning Star must have been really awful to destroy the deep respect they've had for each other. But that's not the show I want to watch, especially when there's so little of it left. I can sort of understand the time jump from a story-telling perspective, but I miss everyone being in their parks and rec office. Maybe my aversion to change is my most Swanson-like quality.
  2. I'm echoing the disappointment for no Hero's Journey. Also, it's strange there's only one song from the last two episodes.
  3. Unfortunately, common sense has never been ABC's strong point, which is a bummer because this show is massively enjoyable.
  4. I'm using this topic as an excuse to marathon Parks and Rec, and I'm not done yet, but Telethon has so many actual laugh out loud moments, like Perd, Ann stopping Leslie from drinking all the milk, the telethon losing money, and the telethon cutting to the technical difficulties screen when Leslie intervened to stop Mark's proposal. It's a hilarious episode. I thought it would be super easy to rank the seasons, but it's actually proving to be really hard as I love each episode more than I remembered upon rewatch. Like I remembered really disliking Swing Vote, but the bit at the end with Leslie and Ron is sweet enough to almost redeem the Jamm storyline. Almost.
  5. Chris Pratt would never leave Parks and Recreation: http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/chris-pratt-on-parks-and-recreation-i-would-never-leave-this-show-1201407644/ “I’ve been doing this business for 15 years. I realize the things that really matter … are the relationships you have while you’re doing them. I could hope that I could have the good fortune of finding another group of people like this, but I don’t expect I ever will,” he said.
  6. I loathe the idea of Peggy/Thompson. I'm actually sort of concerned about the pairing--not only because a producer was taking about it--but because Thompson refrained from his normal interrogation techniques with Jarvis. If Thompson had physically hurt Jarvis, I could safely cross him off the potential husband list as I couldn't see Peggy or the viewers forgiving that.
  7. He's listed in the finale press release. I had read elsewhere that he was playing a knight, but I'm also not surprised he's not being paraded around as one of the super exciting guest stars. I, however, am excited for his appearance. Giles was my favorite on Buffy, and he played a good Uther on Merlin, even if Uther was the worst. Weird Al should also be a lot of fun. He fits the show's tone perfectly.
  8. Anthony Head as Galavant's father! If he doesn't get at least a little to sing, the show will have made a huge mistake.
  9. I totally agree. This episode felt a bit off to me (and might actually be my least favorite) for exactly the reasons you described. Also, I feel like we should have heard about Eliza's family issues before this episode. Why wasn't Eliza's sister at any of her birthday parties? And your mother covering the house with only photos of your big sister is probably going to do a lot more harm than being voted Most Butt. Poor Eliza.Edited to add that I loved the moment when Henry knew he'd better not grab any of the snacks the sister brought.
  10. Kevin! Oh, that was sweet. Loved Eliza's realization that she didn't need to look to anyone but herself for inspiration. (And with her hair cutting, it looks like they were paving the way to get rid of the wigs.) Henry coaching/cheerleading when Eliza confronted Corynn was adorable. Also loved the bookstore security guard who was totally cool with Eliza jumping Corynn as long as it was outside of the store. My main complaint, of course, is that this is the last episode. My next complaint was the total lack of Saperstein, though I'm sure he would have made an appearance had they known of the cancelation before they finished filming. Thanks, Selfie, for making my Tuesdays a bit happier and sillier.
  11. This episode really benefited from a rewatch for me. Eliza's money problems felt like something that would have popped up earlier in their friendship, assuming that they've known each other for more than a couple weeks. And there should have been more fall-out after last week's heartbreak, but they get a pass since the cancelation mandates they move the story along. However, when I watched it a second time, it was hilarious. Not sure what it was about Karen's delivery of the elevator "snub", but that was so great, as was Eliza's concern she needed Steve Harvey's help, Henry and Eliza's adorable phone conversation, Henry's realization that Charlie gave him the F (what is he? Hufflepuff?!), and all of Eliza's short jokes at the end. Oh, Selfie. I wish you had done better and weren't saddled with that title and pilot episode.
  12. Anyone find/write something about what actually happened between Hook and Emma once he got his heart back? Because that cut to Emma drinking with Regina was infuriating. It's not like I want angst, but you don't build up that whole "Hook thinks he's going to die and is being forced to do terrible things" plot only to have it be resolved with a 22 second scene. Bad form, writers. I'm counting on some fics to fix this.
  13. On Twitter, Emily Kapnek says there are three more episodes. Someone must have been messing around with IMDb. And I second the hope for a DVD. *crosses all fingers and toes* Thank god for Saperstein and his "Mandatory, son," for laughs this episode. It was great-especially Eliza's Chandelier and her reaction to Julia overhearing her and Henry-but I count on this show for goofy happiness. I was not expecting all of this sadness. But it was so well-done. I swore I was through with ABC after they canceled my still beloved Pushing Daisies, and seeing how great Selfie has gotten is only fueling the fire of my ABC hatred. I'll never forget and never forgive, ABC.
  14. Created an account just so I could post about Eliza's jazz riffing. I was crying. I'm really going to miss this show, but I'm so glad we get to see these episodes.
