Sure, she's not coming back to compete; she's been on TOC for 6 seasons. Maybe after a year to cool off, she can be a judge. She will have to come back to get her ring and banner unfurled in TOC 7, though. -

I don't think that would be such a bad thing. There's plenty of chefs of both genders who would love to duke it out in TOC. If the "top guys" don't return, I will still tune in because it is a show that I really like. This season was Antonia's to lose and I am glad she finally got the championship. 608: Judges: Maneet Chauhan, Brooke Williamson, Mei Lin, and Martha Stewart in the finale. I was able to figure out who the judges were at least 90% of the time; If the producers want to keep us in suspense, how's about not showing them at all until it is time for them to judge the food. Showing them from the back and a poor blurring job does not impress me when I can tell who they are by what they are wearing (and skin tone, since Marcus Samuelsson is the only Black male judge). Antonia Lofaso vs. Britt Rescigno - Antonia Wins! As risky as it was for Antonia to fry a whole fish, it was far riskier to not cook that protein properly. As soon as Mei Lin said her fish was undercooked, Britt was done. Congratulations on getting married and see you next season! Lee Ann Wong vs. Sara Bradley - Sara wins. Fried chicken, no matter how fancy the bird is, always wins out. Mama Wong will be back next season. Antonia Lofaso vs. Sara Bradley: Now we all know that Wagyu beef is not a good meat to make sausage out of. Heh. Sara almost had a chance until she decided not to use the Sausage Stuffer in her cold dish. I had forgotten that the SS had to be used in both dishes. Sara also didn't make sausage as good as Antonia's; so I took a few notes on what to use should I ever decide to make my own sausage. I wonder if Maneet's question about the SS not being used in the cold dish was because of producer shenanigans or being experienced enough in TOC to notice that Randa wasn't utilized properly. Antonia scored high in all categories, and she is the winner of TOC 6! Antonia finally wins the belt, ring, and the money! I wonder if they are going to keep to the rule of TOC winners not competing anymore. I guess they should, because Antonia has earned the right to judge other people's food for a change. I'm ready for next season! -
I'll be honest; I've never really liked the food challenges. You never know if a country's food would be to your liking, or even if Americans can consume it without issue (considering the garbage we eat!). Yogurt is perhaps the mildest thing to partake in, considering that maybe none of the racers are lactose intolerant. Plus forcing racers to chug beverages or eat something quickly while racing wouldn't be the best idea while running in a strange country with disparate weather patterns. I would love to eat leisurely in Asian and Latin countries since I love that type of food, but to shove it in my face and keep running? Nawl.

Their method was busted. One of the brothers was just throwing hay around and not looking for the bracelet. If he wasn't just pulverizing the hay piles, he might have found the bracelet. They kicked so much hay around that it was buried and impossible to see.

Just in time for another woman chef to take the championship belt! -
If I was crazy enough to ever try out for TAR (which I am certainly NOT), I would never do the Hay tasks. I was hoping for someone to U-Turn Jonathan & Ana. I am tired of this man sulking through the race and blaming Ana for every setback. I am also glad that the teams on this leg didn't turn on their partners when things got rough. Jack & Carson are true friends, because I can't say that I would have been so calm knowing that we were definitively lost for HOURS... Now Melinda & Erika don't have to worry about retaliation from the U-Turn. I'm rooting for Han & Holden now.

This show is definitely a case study in how expectations (mainly Guy's) are subverted when the talent of the women chefs actually outshines the male chefs. You can tell that Guy expected the male chefs to run away with the competition with the male coded prizes (A huge pickup truck, a championship belt, championship rings). If TOC didn't have those prizes, would the women fight as hard? I know Guy isn't a complete misogynist; but he has that male chef arrogance like most of the others. I also wonder why we haven't seen so much of Ryder Fieri. We are pretty tired of Hunter at this point; maybe the baby boy is the more charismatic son? -

All the male chefs knocked out of TOC 6! Love it. We will have a new Women chef's banner in the Arena this year! Also one of the final judges will be Maneet, since she showed her 2 championship rings... 607: Judges: Cat Cora (and her shoes!), Ming Tsai, and Michael Symon. Lee Ann Wong vs. Joe Sasto - Mama Wong wins! Thank goodness she took the Mustache out! Kaleena Bliss vs. Britt Rescigno - The Angry Italian wins! Honestly, I was going to be happy for either of these 2 chefs to win. I'm looking forward to seeing Kaleena in TOC 7. Nini Nguyen vs. Sara Bradley - Sara wins. I will also look forward to seeing Nini in TOC 7. Kevin Lee vs. Antonia Lofaso - The Princess Warrior takes the Dragon Slayer out again! I believe that if she doesn't win the belt this year, Kevin might not do TOC 7 if Antonia is still in contention. -
I discovered this show on Hulu and binged it. I initially believed that Leon was robbed but I did like the ego hit he took when he discovered that a home cook beat him.

In regards to the food they made at the tea, I hope they packed it up and sent it to the pitstop. I'm sure the hotel didn't serve them to patrons and hopefully all that food wasn't thrown out. -

Still not giving Jonathan a pass. Ana was pushing it with the "we wuz friends, why did you vote for us?" spiel with Carson and Jack. Ma'am, this is a game; roll with the punches or be quiet! I will miss Pops and Jeff! Can't think of a better place to lose the game than in Dubai. In a blink and you will miss them moment, a cameraman jumped out of the plane ahead of the skydiving tandem team. That's the person filming the skydive and why the jumpers were waving their hands and smiling. -

We have talked before about the chef nicknames. Most of these chefs came into TOC with them; it's just Guy and his carnival barker ways that makes even the coolest chef nickname sound ridiculous. 606: Judges: Cat Cora, Andrew Zimmern, Scott Conant. I got 3 out of the 4 this week. Adam Sobel vs. Kevin Lee - Kevin wins! Maybe Sobel will come back next year a little more humble. Carlos Anthony vs. Nini Nguyen - Nini wins! He is a risk taker, yes. But a steak tartare that he cooked a little. Heh. Begone until next season... David Viana vs. Sara Bradley - Sara wins. I was rooting for David, but that protein did him in. You can't play around with a rack of lamb! Sara rubs me the wrong way, so I can't really rock with her. Rocco Despirito vs. Antonia Lofaso - The Princess Warrior wins! I'm glad she won and I would love to have those fish and chips. Rocco was a good sport, even knowing that he couldn't get past Antonia. Maybe he will go back to the judge's table next season. -

I bet Jonathan wished he hadn't burned the Express Pass so quickly; this would have been the perfect leg to use it! Poor Ana! She has a lot of strength to put up with her 3rd child while mourning a possible fourth child. That makes Jonathan's behavior towards her even worse once the killer fatigue set in. Scott and Lori had the key to the Coral task and still biffed it. They would have become insufferable had they survived this leg, though. Telling strangers that they were his sons and Lori taking back her friendship at a vote pretty much was the end of their social game. The coconut task was grueling. They couldn't give the teams a bag for the coconuts? They also couldn't ride the bikes? That's a weird way to transport coconuts in Bali heat. -

I hope Bernie learned how to treat her friend better. Your bestie shouldn't be in tears in nearly every interaction with you. Also, I don't think they wanted to chance him thinking about going in the bushes or trees and catching that moment on camera. I wondered what would happen if a racer had to relieve themselves in the middle of a leg... Yep, I was wondering why they wasted the Express Pass so quickly since Jonathan practically harassed Ana to complete the task for it. -

While I am sad that Jet and Shota got knocked out, I will still be happy if another woman chef is added to the Winner's Circle. 605: Judges: Nancy Silverton, Marcus Samuelsson, Scott Conant. I was proud of myself for figuring out who the judges were in their intro clips! Lee Ann Wong vs. Jonathon Sawyer: Lee Ann wins! I liked her dish better. Jonathon's dish seemed more like an appetizer than a high end lunch. I even got a chuckle when Scott noted that this was a dish that he would get at Marcus' restaurant with Lee Ann stating that this was something she would cook when working for Marcus. The chef world is small! Michael Reed vs. Britt Rescigno: Britt wins! I knew Michael was toast when he decided to do a risotto. That's not the type of dish that you can do well in 35 minutes. Kaleena Bliss vs. Shota Nakajima: Kaleena wins! I was fully rooting for Shota until he decided to do a cornish hen noodle soup. Sir! In order for a soup to be successful in TOC, the broth had to be a flavor bomb. Clearly he wasn't successful in that with this dish. Jet Tila vs. Joe Sasto: the mustache wins. Joe can be the nicest person ever, but he comes off so smarmy on television. He needs to lay off the mustache twirling villian shtick so maybe I could like him better. This is the match where I wanted to eat both dishes! Randa made me chuckle as she told the audience that she wanted To-Go Takeout, dammit! I wonder if Joe heard Guy and Tiffany discuss the folly of turning New York Strip into a hamburger... I also want to taste what made Scott almost curse that it was so good. I laughed while Scott was raving about Jet's food at Nancy just shoveling the rice into her face. That leads me to a different TOC question: Who gets the food that the chefs make? I saw Joe make 5 burgers this round. So there is one for filming, three for the judges; does Guy get the fifth one? I think I also saw Jet prepare 5 rice boxes, yet made a show about feeding Guy a small portion during the plating. Does the audience get anything? I would be so hungry after watching all that great food being made. -

That is what I want! Most of the male chefs, barring Jet, Shota, and Tobias Durzon, are so arrogant and smarmy. I love seeing the rest of them get knocked down a few pegs. 604: The judges: Marcus Samuelsson, Nancy Silverton, Charlie Palmer. I went 1 for 4 this episode. Most of these chefs are new to me and I gained a new appreciation for one of them. Amanda Frietag vs. Carlos Anthony: Carlos wins. I know it must frustrate Chef AF to no end to always lose by miniscule margins. I think the judges were more impressed by Carlitos doing a Mole in 30 minutes. I'm still not a fan of him, though. Sara Bradley vs. Dale Tarde: Sara wins. How ridiculous that kimchi sauce took the "Boogeyman" out! Nini Nguyen vs. Claudette Zepeta: Nini wins! I was recently introduced to Claudette by way of Wild Card Kitchen, so I knew she had some chops in the kitchen. I was rooting for Nini and I wasn't disappointed. Randa does these contestants dirty and Claudette overcooked the protein; that is usually the kiss of death in cooking competitions. Tobias Durzon vs. David Viana: David wins. I was really pulling for Tobias but I really wanted to eat David's dish through the screen. A whole lot of upsets in this episode! -

Yeah, I will forgive Scott for his choice in words in regards to Lori. At least he didn't berate her like Jonathan does to Ana. Jonathan is back on my shytlist. It was mostly his tone towards her in the talking heads; "I'm not going to smile at you when you are doing poorly in a task". Way to be encouraging to your wife you supposedly love... Courtney and Jasmine has a strong relationship; they were not good racers. Poor navigation and horrible taxi luck did them in. Only Holden and Han got the idea of getting taxis from a hotel? That's much easier than trying to flag them down in the street. Holden and Han are normal siblings and I wish he had piped down during the origami. I thought that the racers would have to do multiple small cranes, not that jumbo sided one! It was also fun to see so many ninja fantasies get crushed. I would not have done double digit attempts at that task, though. RAAAAACE! -

I was aghast! I understand that you only had 30 minutes, but sloshing food everywhere was not that appealing. I kind of felt bad for the kitchen cleaner. -

603: I went 3 for 1 as well; I'm not a fan of Joe Sasto, and very happy for Mama Wong, Jonathon Sawyer, and Chef Jet. Jet takes the highest score of this season thus far. I liked Fabio not being a sore loser for his first time in the TOC arena. I chuckled when the judges said that they can always tell when a chef is new to TOC. He even provoked Randa. I didn't know that Guy hated hard boiled eggs. LOL! TOC was even nice enough to boil the eggs for the contestants; I did notice the boiling water on Joe Sasto's side. I know he wasn't silly enough to do a pasta dish in 30 minutes. Lee Ann Wong squeaked her win; time management is so key to these battles when you only have a limited amount of time! Too much salt vs. too much spice... Too much salt is the one that gets you booted. Did Karen taste her dish at all? Jonathon put so much Berbere spice in his food that he shocked the Dancing Spice Queen! Pyet thought she was going to beat Jet Tila? I wanted his dish most of all! -

Same! I cackled at Nick and Mike channeling all their frustration into the final match and not being able to move the wrestler until he decided to move himself. That was fun to watch! Who knew that Ernest would be the lone rhythmless racer? I'm glad Mark was able to hold his frustration and not unleash it on Ernest. I'm also glad Jonathan brought it down a notch or ten. I can imagine how he must have cringed watching episode 1... -
I just binged the whole season and I really loved this show! I'm going to try nearly everything Meghan has made. She is really down to earth and surely doesn't deserve the hateration thrown at her dancerie. Hell, I want to be friends with her so she can cook yummy food with me...

602: The judges: Alex Guarnaschelli, Mei Lin, Jonathan Waxman (and Katsu!). Stephanie Izard vs. Michael Reed - Michael Reed wins! He scored higher on Randa. Brittanny Anderson vs. Shota Nakajima - Shota wins! Shota is my cooking bias, so I was happy for his win. Shota also had the highest score thus far. Kaleena Bliss vs. Chris Consentino - Kaleena wins! She is new and pretty awesome to watch. I did notice that Guy would call her by her first name and refer to CC by his last name. Not too buddy buddy with Chef Consentino, huh? Britt Rescigno vs. Chris Oh - Britt wins! Chris was hella cocky, and it bit him in the end. Better luck in TOC 7, OMG. I have to stop watching this show before dinner; now I want tempura and Asian food! I wanted to eat everyone's dishes. -

601: The judges: Maneet Chauhan, Alex Guarnaschelli, Wolfgang Puck. Randa was especially gregarious this season opener! I have always said that the key to winning TOC is to beat the Randomizer into submission. For tonight's matchups, I got 3 of the chef wins I was rooting for. Rocco Dispirito vs. Tim Love - Rocco wins! It was funny that Tim expected Alex to be the "warm and fuzzy" judge. Has he met her? LOL. Rocco scored higher on Randa and Presentation. Kevin Lee vs. Casey Thompson - Kevin wins! Kevin scored higher with Randa. Adriana Urbina vs. Adam Sobel - Adam wins. He scored higher on all three points. Here's hoping that Kevin Lee takes him out in the second round. Antonia Lofaso vs. Maria Mazon - Antonia wins! Listen, I love the Princess Warrior (eye rolls on that nickname), I really do. But is she going to stress us and herself all the way to the end to lose by one point again? She took the longest to agree to go back to TOC. While 4 heavy hitters are out of contention, there is still Jet Tila to get past... If TOC wishes to extend the trend of women winners, that's fine. However, Antonia has a hard way to go with all the women in this year's bracket who may be just as deserving as her. I did laugh when Maria said she would "go Mexican" on Antonia if she loses TOC 6. No pressure, right? -

No. He "Empowered her to run the ship without his approval". (I wrote that down!) I am only a fan of Lori because she gave birth 8 times; there was no twins in that pack. I guess she really wanted a daughter but realized too late that wasn't going to happen.
