  1. I'm a little confused on the timeline the night of Dolores's party. According to the clock on the table, prior to the guests arriving, it was about 8:10 p.m. when Dolores said the guests are scheduled to show up at 8:30. Melissa and Joe appeared to be the last people to arrive, so I'm assuming it's at least after 8:30 when they show up, if not quite a bit after 8:30. Then Melissa tells Dolores that Teresa isn't coming because Joe's scheduled to call the family at 8:00. So...? She can't come to the party because of a phone call that occurred before the party? I'm sure the entire truth is that Teresa just didn't feel like dealing with the Lauritas and the Wakiles all in the same confined space, but at least Melissa could have said, "Joe called tonight and Teresa wants to stay with the girls, who are having a hard time with this new separation." Totally plausible and probably mostly true. I've gotten so I DVR this and fast forward through anything involving Siggy and her family. It's the same old shit every time, and none of it was interesting the first time around.
  2. No, they were the same. I think I didn't post the best photos for comparison, but it was the same top.
  3. To me it just made Jenni the person too stupid to cut her nails before going into a competition where she'd have to be using her hands a lot.
  4. Reminds me of the time -- I think last season? -- they showed the designers all in the break room, eating and going on at length about the virtues of the Samsung refrigerator. SO natural!
  5. I was watching this on the DVR and watched Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles right afterward. I'd thought the lace top Erin was wearing in the work room was probably her own design, but then I saw Heather on MDLLA wearing the same top. Anyone know who makes it? By the way, what was up with Tim telling them to "take advantage of the Brother sewing room"? Isn't that where the sewing machines are kept? What the hell else are they supposed to do?
  6. When I see Laurence's clothes come down the runway I get the same feeling I had when Christian Siriano's clothes would come down the runway during his season. Her clothes make the other designers look like rank amateurs by comparison.
  7. Yes, Kalani is really beautiful and talented, but her mother seems to be a felon with with serious hair-trigger rage issues.
  8. Heidi always looks amazing, but I did wonder why she didn't take a minute to run a comb through her hair.
  9. I had to wonder what the judges were huffing that they thought Jenni's dress looked like anything more than a high school home-ec project, and one that only got a B-, at best. And how in the world did Rik's dress qualify as cocktail wear? Especially with that clunky zipper down the back. I actually think Nathalia's fabric comb could have worked if she'd made a 1920s look, ala Downtown Abbey. What a waste of expensive fabric
  10. Yes, "Episodes" will be back in 2017 for a final (damn!) season. http://www.sho.com/episodes
  11. I also want to know! Episodes was SO good, and Matt's role was fantastic. Self-aware and self-deprecating, and all those good things. But what I really want to know - is Episodes over? Did they conclude things? Did I watch that conclusion? "Episodes" ended on a cliffhanger. I believe the new season is supposed to start in early 2017.
  12. How can Leblanc do something as spectacular as Showtime's "Episodes" and still not be able to pick a successful vehicle for himself Stateside? I can't understand it. P.S. Matt -- get back to "Episodes"!
  13. I couldn't believe it when Jess stated -- and with such great pride! -- that Jo Jo wants to be the next Kim Kardashian! The first Kim Kardashian is totally useless, so why in the world would you encourage your talented daughter to aspire to be just like her? That's really disturbing.
  14. To me it just seems like they're doing their job, which is to create watchable TV, not ensure the dignity and sobriety of a fellow cast member (which I'm pretty sure would be the antithesis of doing their job).
  15. That's why I don't think it's weird that Sierra isn't exactly jazzed at the prospect of hooking up with him. It's not the fact that he has a child, or the fact that he supports a child, it's the fact that he seems to want to support his baby mama for the rest of her life, too. Sierra may be dumb as drain hair, but she ain't dumb enough to want to sign up for that deal.
  16. It's not noble for him to provide for his child, but providing for the mother of his child -- trying to make it so she never has to work again -- that's god damned fucking noble. I've never even heard anything like it from someone who isn't married to the woman.
  17. You may be right. But that doesn't mean that the other women on this show should be expected to diagnose her problem and treat her for it. If Kelly has a problem, she shouldn't have gone on TV. If she has a really bad problem, the casting people shouldn't have allowed her on TV.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. There's nothing obvious I can point to, but I keep getting the feeling that Kate isn't completely comfortable in her new role as resident lesbian.
  19. IF you were an alcoholic, though, that drink sitting in front of you and being urged on you by several women who obviously hate you (and you're trying to get to like you) would be sooooo tempting. They knew what they were doing and had probably been told by production to get Kelly to drink to make a better show. I've always liked Shannon and felt sorry for her when Heather was so mean to her in the first season she was on the show, when Heather ordered her out of her house so rudely, but she totally lost me with this one. To see her and Heather (and Tamara) gang up on Kelly was obscene! It's obvious that Kelly isn't very smart and has alcohol problems and yet they didn't try to protect her, but pushed it on her to get a reaction. Heather may think she's so sophisticated and all that, but she's just a wanna be who married a wanna be dr. This show sickened and upset me. The demon in Heather was evident on that bus ride. Heck, I wanted a drink after watching that show! I cant imagine how it felt to be the object off all that evil. None of them are that smart, as evidenced by the fact that they live their lives [mostly falsely] in front of TV cameras, and they all have alcohol problems. If Kelly had ever told anyone she's an alcoholic, I'm sure no one would have tried to ply her with alcohol. But Kelly would be the first to screech that she isn't an alcoholic (and probably that she's a college graduate while she's at it), so she's fair game. People can buy you drinks all day long. That doesn't mean you have to drink them.
  20. The thing is, Shannon could've ordered straight grain alcohol served in a canoe and it wouldn't make any difference if Kelly simply didn't drink it.
  21. As I was watching this week I was wondering, if it weren't for Teresa and Joe's legal problems, would RHONJ still be on the air? There really are no storylines other than that. Jacqueline is boring and desperate for attention; the Wakile contingent is boring and desperate for attention; Dolores barely registers and Siggy makes me want to rip my head off at the neck and put it somewhere safe where it doesn't have to hear the sound of her voice. Her mother has to be mentally ill if she's actively working to spend more time with that mess. I get that these shows are only loosely based on actual reality, but even the made-up drama is no drama at all. I wish we could just sweep the cast clean and get in a full contingent of new women, maybe some of them with actual careers (as opposed to "Real Housewives" type careers [I look in your direction and cough, Melissa]) It's just not fun anymore.
  22. I agree. I don't know why since the show is supposed to be in NYC, they don't film in NYC, so silly. Since they film in Chicago, then have the show set in Chicago; what is the big deal? Maybe they think we don't have black folks in Chicago?
  23. I was so excited to see Chicago's Lyric Opera House in tonight's show! My husband has had season tickets -- third row -- since the 70s, and we had our first date there back in the 80s. It's a place I feel I know as well as my own home, so I was thrilled to see them walk through those doors. They even used the opera house's bathroom to film that scene, which sort of surprised me (I'd imagine that would've been more easily done on a set). I think whosit was an asshole for not telling Cookie where she was going so she could have dressed appropriately, and it rang false to me that Cookie would act quite so "fish out of water" on this occasion (I haven't noticed her having that much trouble being elegant and refined before), but the location was definitely a thrill for me. I wish they'd just set this show in Chicago rather than shooting in Chicago and pretending it's New York.
  24. It's hard to believe any franchisee would choose to stay with Jeff rather than go with Marcus. Which one of these two guys is more likely to care about your store succeeding? If nothing else, follow the money.
