  1. I stopped watching when Meredith left. I tried both hosts who came after her and couldn't stand them. Then I read that Chris Harrison was going to host and I thought, well, that will be a disaster, but I gave it a try anyway. He was stiff the first week or so, but then he started to relax and now Chris and WWTBAM have entered my list of must-see television. He is a very engaging fellow and treats all the contestants quite well. I DVR the show and watch it right after Jeopardy every night. He is a great host. I learn a lot about each contestant and he puts them at ease with his easy conversation and he looks genuinely happy when someone does well.
  2. I was really rooting for the Surfers, but if it couldn't be them, I was pleased it was not the dentists or the wrestlers. I would love to see the Surfers back for an All-Star edition. Their attitude was so positive, as were Amy and Maya's. I did find the final task boring and I do wish both the team members were competing, not just one member. A very pleasant season all together. I heard they are going to be on after Survivor in February? I know the ratings were not great for this season after the stupid switch they did on night's. Half the time I was forgetting the show was on Friday night. Luckily, my DVR always remembered for me. I would totally suck at the memory competition. Because I would already be exhausted from racing, my mind would be putty, especially with memorizing numbers. Amy and Maya, amazing job!
  3. Father Paul freaks me out. The scene of him caressing Danny's photo and Mark later saying that Danny hated going to Sunday School struck a few warning bells to me. Edited to change priest's name - I was in a hurry this morning, my bad. And, yes, I thought one of two things - that he could be the dad of Danny as suggested below, or he could have had less than a fatherly interest in Danny, based on Danny not caring for Sunday School. I think the former is more likely.
  4. I am done and done with the RHONJ. They have committed the ultimate sin in my eyes - they are boring with a capital B. Terrible casting errors. Surely in all of New Jersey they could have found a better cast. I would have preferred seeing Danielle again and a totally new cast of characters connected with her. Not because I like her, but I think she might have been interesting in a train wreck sort of way. I am sure anyone who hangs out with her, loves her or hates her would have had bought new drama to maybe revive this tired old show. Hoping for better things from RHOBH.
  5. I've always liked and supported Teresa, but I was quite shocked reading the full account of their fraud. My personal opinion is that she will get three to six months jail time, and house incarceration after that. And any proceeds she makes from writing a book about this should go to pay the creditors. What I would like to see happen is Teresa gets no jail time, but house arrest, in a bilevel. A nice ordinary well-lived in house. I guess the pizza place is gone, because the apartment over the pizza joint would be even better, with Teresa waitressing full time. A nice big return to REAL reality. I hope Joe gets the full amount of time. But not deportation. I've never liked him very much, nor any of the men on this franchise.
  6. Marketdoctor, the red dress was hideous. Then the rain through most of her last song was like, whaaat? Both so distracting that it took away from her performances. Mat, with his hail fellow well met attitude, an infectious smile - well, I still think the most popular presidential candidate or contestant on a talent show wins. I found Mat's tricks pedestrian but I really loved his personality. He should maybe run for president? <only kidding> With that said, I really wanted Acro Army to win, with Emily now my second choice. I did think she had it in the bag, but I was wrong. But second place is fine and I would have been happy with that had Acro Army won. I just feel meh about Mat winning, but then I always feel that way about most winners of talent contests. It was however an entertaining finale and I loved the tribute to Nick. He is the glue who holds this show together. He and Tom Bergeron are my two favorite hosts. So, all in all, a pretty good year for AGT.
  7. The show was - pleasant. The talent was good. But the only true Vegas act I saw last night was Acro Army. I was bored with Mat's marching cards, love him though. So I ended up giving the majority of my votes, telephone and google, to Acro Army and a few to Emily West. I don't think coming in second would hurt her career chances. Did not like Quint's Let it Be, but I think he has a tremendous talent and a great future. But as I said weeks ago, the show lost its momentum when it had that loooonnnnggggg break in the middle of the summer. This is a summer show and should have ended by Labor Day. And just like with The Voice - the auditions are the best part. Not with Idol though. I gave up on those auditions a long time ago. I guess that's it. Thanks guys for making my summer reading very enjoyable here on this new, for me, forum. I still miss TWoP, but not as much as I did thanks to Previously TV.
  8. Damn me, but if Derrick isn't spreading some of his mist my way. I've been watching BBAD for the past week, not all of it, but some, and I remember he gave this little side smile to Victoria, when she was bugging him, and he complained, but gave this little "busting your chops" side smile and I thought, aww, that was cute..............................he isn't so bad................ Which is why I would probably be putty in his hands were I in the house and which is why I never, ever, ever could play in the game. But yeah, I wouldn't mind him winning one bit. After all, he has a very hungry and incredibly cute daughter. I wish Donny had teamed with Derrick. That is the only thing that keeps me from liking Derrick more than I do now - they way he shafted Donny and cut him out.
  9. I understand the hatred for Derrick. I am not a big fan, but this game is not awarded to who played the nicest, because then it should have been Donny. The nicest gets fan favorite most of the time, or the one most likable. I applaud Caleb for putting up Frankie on the block because I know he wants Frankie's "connections" to get him a music contract, a celebrity girlfriend and maybe even the lead in a revival of Oklahoma or better yet, Grease. So for him to go against him is a thing of wonder to me. And it isn't such a bad move for him either IF Frankie does not win Veto. Now if he were to get rid of Derrick at some point, that would be another great move, but he won't, because he thinks he will win against Derrick. But I will not have a problem with Derrick winning. He just seems to be losing it a bit now from what I have been reading. He certainly will be unhappy if Frankie wins veto. I do get tired of reading about him eating so much humble pie though to get him to the final two. That is - well distasteful - to me. So, Derrick, go out there today and win the veto. It will up my respect for him as a competition player. And I have to say that this game is so much more pleasant to follow as I do not like anyone particularly who are left. I don't love seeing people I like get ignored or minimized. Oh yeah, and Christine is gone. She seemed fine to me in the jury house. They just showed the choice bits for our viewing pleasure, but I honestly think by now she is doing fine in jury. In fact, everyone seemed to be doing fine in the jury house. Oh, but just between you and me - I can't stand Zach! Never could. But to each his own favorite.
  10. From what I saw of the Snapple save vote, Miguel was trailing both E&D and Sons of Serendip. I guess the jidges were going to leave the final vote to America, because it made no sense for Howie to suddenly choose E&D when he said Miguel was the next big thing. Well, Miguel seems like a nice guy, so I will give him that. The highlight of the show for me, besides two of my favorites getting through, Emily and Acro Army, was Jackie Evancho. She has grown into a gorgeous young lady and still just as sweet. And that voice! But then I love her style of singing. So I guess five out of six of my faves making it through was not bad. I did feel so sad though for Christian and Scooby. It was a correct choice, but still. sigh. I think it is a pretty decent final five at least. But wow - this has been a long, long, LONG season.
  11. I thought Miguel was truly awful. Out of tune and out of character. Just...no. I have a confession to make - I never have been a fan of magicians. So I can't really judge except to say I really love Mat's personality. So I hope Mat makes it through. Oh, Christian! Why did you have to listen to Howard! Scooby WAS and IS the best part of your act. Hand balancing is boring, although impressive of course, but if I had to see anything repeated, I would have preferred more Scooby. But he just didn't have time to train Scooby to do more tricks anyway, so he was between a rock and a hard place. His attitude is fantastic, but I could not bring myself to vote for him last night. Come back in a few years with a whole passel of chihuahuas. Wow, Acro Army truly saved the best for last! An act that deserves to win the Vegas spot. I still enjoyed the cellists, but since I had to split my votes, I chose to split them between Acro and Emily. I love the Moody Blues and she did a fantastic job with that song. Again. So I am hoping that my two picks make it through, along with Quint, Sons of Serendip (always get chills when they perform), the cellists, and Mat. And, since it cannot be said enough - SHUT UP HOWIE!
  12. I thought I would never say this in a million years re Jeff and Jordan - as I did have some issues with Jeff - but all I could think of with the two of them in the BB house was the quote, pearls before swine. The house smells and so does this season. One bright spot - no Christine. No chance for her to dream that one day she and Cody might be the next big brother couple who live happily ever after.
  13. I think everyone gravitates to Derrick because he is so nice to them. His social game is brilliant, I will give him that. I do think he missed a chance to get rid of Christine with the veto though by not trying to win. He could have said he was respecting Caleb's wishes (gag) and would not use the veto. He is just so afraid of getting blood on his hands at this point, and really, this is the point he should up his game in that respect. I hope SOMETHING exciting happens tonight. Or should I say unexpected.
  14. There were only four singers tonight, so why did it seem like there were more!? Yes, Howard, the two cello players really need a singer to liven up their act - not! I usually agree with his criticism, but not this time. I had no particular favorites on another blah night, imo of course, so I voted for the ones that made me smile or laugh (in a good way), and that would be Christian and Scooby, Mat (I like him so much more than any other magician in the semi-finals), Jonah, (the only singer I really enjoyed last night), and Emile and Dariel. My only horse in this race - and bite my tongue because she is a singer - would be Emily West. And Howie, this is definitely NOT the best year of talent the show has ever had, not the worst, but certainly not the best. I do like the jidges, with one exception, YOU! PS - with my beloved TWoP gone, I am so happy to have a new favorite place to read and occasionally post - Previously TV. I was resistant at first, but the posters have won me over.
  15. Donny lasted way longer than I ever thought he had a chance to last, and kept his spirit and his Donny-ness throughout. I know plenty of BB fans, though non feed watchers or readers, and they all love him. HOWEVER, they think Derrick is truly sad to "have" to evict Danny. And that he is playing a great game. But - they don't bother voting for anything, although two of them have said they will vote for Danny for Fan Favorite, if I tell them how. What can I say - I travel in an "old" circle. I only feel young when I visit forums such as this one, and then I appear to be "in the know" with my friends who marvel at my information I hand them, thanks to you guys. Christine's hair up is NOT a good look at all for her. It makes her look older and even less attractive than she already appears. I would love to see Nichole vote her out next week. Without Donny to worry about now, I want to see some revenge. I KNOW Donny will be having a good time in the jury house - among friends!
  16. I wasn't nuts about Piers during his time on AGT, but I would love him to come back just to torture Howie as he used to do so well. My throat is hoarse from my yelling at my television screen, Shut UP Howie. He really is a gasbag and a bore. Wow, a show that started off with such promise in June is dying in August. So, that's Ariana. I know only of her because I watch Big Brother and her brother is on it. Very weak performance, fit right in with AGT. Don't like her brother either! Happy for Emily and Serendip. More for Serendip because I thought they might not make it to the finals. So, yay, I guess.
  17. Awww, c'mon Victoria, "you know who to whistle, don't cha? You just pucker up and blow." Lauren Bacall, To Have and Have Not. Victoria, "Ewwwww, I don't DO that, how disgusting!" BTW - RIP Lauren Bacall I am happy now that Donny is most likely leaving and going to be with friends in the jury house. IF Nicole wins HOH, I may start watching the broadcast shows again. I just hate seeing someone so isolated. It reminds me a bit about how I felt about Jen during Dick's season. It is sad that the things out of BB I want most now is to see Donny trim that beard and also win Fan Favorite.
  18. Gosh, I love your avatar! I smile every time I see it. And, yes, I also have given up watching any of the broadcast shows. My DVR records them, so I read about them here, then decide if they are worth watching. Why torture myself!
  19. I think if he wins fan favorite he will attend the party and also when he realizes he will have friends there. I think right now he is feeling downtrodden and disgusted and has no idea how much he is loved. I think Julie usually announces the top fan favorites, so even if Zach does win, I think Donny will be pleased to know he was right up there with him. I rarely vote in these fan favorite things - but I did last year for Elissa and I will definitely with even more enthusiasm vote for Donny. I thought I would detest the guy - not being a fan of Duck Dynasty - and here he is my favorite house guest. He reminds me of a Gomer Pyle-type character - the country boy with a heart of gold. He had a very pretty girlfriend (on the show) too! And since I just started posting here, after TWoP died (marie caroline there), I want to extend grateful praise to the brilliant re-cappers and commentators here. So nice to see so many names I remember and who I enjoyed reading for many years.
  20. Can't Get No Satisfaction. I knew it right away from the first chords played and once again, I really loved the duo cello players. But my husband was not as impressed this time as before. So he agrees with the majority opinion here. I have to say I really enjoyed Jonah's performance and I voted for him. But, yeah, it sure was a slow unimpressive night. Except for Dom the Bomb's who got a rise out of me - and not a good one. What a brat that kid was, throwing cards that perhaps sting on contact at poor Nick. They weren't happy about the negative feedback they were getting - but I blame the jidges for putting this act through to the finals in the first place. Never ever want to see them again. Take the kid to little league baseball tryouts - might have a great pitcher in the making there. Everyone else, excepting Nina, can go home - I like Quint a lot, but I agree about it being SUCH a wrong song choice. There are so many great songs out there for a kid his age - why not choose one of them. I would not be unhappy though if he makes it through. He has a fabulous voice, but I agree that puberty could ruin his singing career. As far as Jidge's choices - I am keeping my fingers crossed that the jump rope performers, the Bollywood performers and the two opera divas make it through. Especially the opera singers. They got a raw deal, I think anyway.
  21. My goodness, but that was awful! And endless. At least they should have given them all front row seats and a bit of acknowledgment for being good sports. The tongue bit was, well, very distasteful and making an elderly gentleman take off his shirt - geez oh man! Howie, hang your head in shame! I would not mind one bit if they replaced him next year, he is a tired act himself. I hope there is a wildcard round and the opera singers get one more try and do a real operatic number rather than the terrible pick of the night before. I definitely would have given them one more chance over blubbering Mara. How do you say no to someone who looks like she is about to dissolve in an ugly puddle of tears if she does not go through. In any event, if a singer HAS to win this season, I would like it to be Emily West. I really enjoyed the violinist. She looked like a little pixie up there with her violin. I had no idea who she was and thought perhaps she had won the show, only to learn she was eliminated. I guess that does give hope to those who have suffered the same fate. And I like cutie patootie adopted boy. I was glad he made it through, but the comment that he would now sing only for America - ouch! That took a bit of shine off of him for me. But again, Emily West is the gal for me if this is the season of a singer winning.
  22. My biggest disappointment last night was the opera singers. The song they sang does NOT lend itself to opera easily and it was at times grating to my ears. I was not a big fan of aerial animation the first time, but last night she won me over. Mara also hurt my ears, while the young boy I thought did a nice job with his song. Also liked the hand balancer and the magician. But it was a pretty meh night. Not unlike last week. What happened? The long weeks of nothing new ruined their momentum. I will keep watching of course, because I do have some favorites, like Emily West and now the aerialist. I prefer cute guy from last night to Miguel of last week, but I doubt he will go through.
  23. It is impossible to make a bold move as HOH because of the two HOH scenario this season. Why choose two people who could very likely get off the block almost immediately and come after you. The time to have made bold moves was in the first two or three nominations. The only real power in this house situation is the veto holder and the back door. That is really the only suspense. I am so bored by this season. There is no suspense right now. With that said, Derrick is playing a great social game. At least I don't hate anyone this season, so there's that.
